he client wished to replace the existing TV unit with a built-in modular one. The client had a huge collection of music CDs and books which she wanted to be displayed. The new TV unit to accommodate CDs, books, printer, WIFI modem, telephone and a DVD player. The TV unit is designed keeping in mind the existing shoe-rack. A linear rectangular box spanning the entire length of the wall. The box is divided into three equal parts. The DVD player and the set-top box can be placed in the centre part. Both the sides can accommodate books. The top of the box can have the printer, telephone and the WIFI modem. The base of this cuboid is extruded to accommodate the laptop and also can be used as a writing table. The unit is placed at the same height as the shoe rack to make it appear like a single piece of furniture. A secondary cuboid below the main unit hides the wires and the power socket. An additional space for books and CDs is planned on top. The minimalist design makes the living room look spacious as well as helps bring about multiple functions.
