Mulleady’s Irish Pub Identity system Problem- Mulleady’s is a neighborhood pub that offers a variety of services beyond food and drinks, making it a true Public house. The business identity has been lost from location and owner changes. Opportunity- To build a cohesive identity that reflects the atmosphere of the establishment and expand to more horizons for marketing to the community around Mulleady’s. Solution- The solution is to use the already existing graphic elements of the building to build the logo and give an image to associate with Mulleady’s Irish Pub. The challenge is to make it look like it’s for an Irish Pub without saying it.

Kikkerland Annual Report Problem- Organizing the financial data into bite sized sections without overcrowding or creating chart junk. Opportunity- Kikkerland is a unique company with a quirky sense of humor. I found out about them when I was visiting a museum and bought a little wind up toy at the gift shop. No other company I have seen has these kind of unique wind up toys. Solution- The Wind Up showcases not only that they wind up toys but that the creator and events that are put on all over the world could possibly find the next fun product that Kikkerland provides.

T.W.Falling Inc. Identity System Problem- T.W. Falling is a regional logging company that services the northwest. They currently have no existing logo and are only known through word of mouth. Opportunity- Most logging companies have the same look and feel for their logo. This project will give me an opportunity to create a logo for the company. Solution-The solution is to reflect a time where logging was honest work, and use supporting graphics to reflect the fact that everything comes full circle. When Logging is done responsibly, cutting trees down can promote healthier ones to grow in their place.

Northwest Flower & Garden Festival Event Promotion Package Problem-The Northwest Flower and Garden Show is held every year at the Washington State Convention Center around Valentines Day. Opportunity- I have the opportunity to use an illustrative approach to advertise the event with more than just words. Solution- The creation of an illustration that is accompanied by a complimentary color scheme and type treatment. Use of banners, window clings, fliers, and posters will advertise the show all over Seattle.

Product Label Design Problem- Capelli’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop has three locations in the downtown Seattle and they decided to start making their own brand of men’s hair products for both in-house use and retail. Opportunity- They have an existing identity that is consistent in all aspects of their business. As this is a contract, I need to create something that fits in with their identity but also has a separate piece that lets people know that it is their product. Solution- Create labels that incorporate elements of the Capelli’s logo. This will show that it belongs to them without putting their name on the front of the bottle.
