TCDLA President’s Comments, David Guinn

David welcomed everyone and thanked Patty and Paul for their work over the year. Suggests a meet up for a debrief on locations to discuss which ones were successful and other topics Also, suggestions on how to increase attendance.

Chief Executive Officer’s Report, Melissa Schank

• FY23/FY24 CCA audit update – we had our audit for FY23. We are waiting on the report, they are really looking at everything black and white and we having to find documentation for changes not in guidelines as requested by the court.

• FY24 UB Update –

CDLP UB (Unexpended Balance)– $183,944.76**

CDLP UPI (Unexpended Program Income) – $85,987.57

Innocence UB – $258,369.35 ($210,000)**

Innocence UPI– $13,005.50

Mental Health UB – $128,513.94 (82,546)

Mental Health UPI– $21,010.45

Public Defender UB – $46,375.83 ($21,294)**

Public Defender UPI– $327.75

*There is a possibility we will have to cut close to $400,000 if we don’t get all UB funds approved, we have programs pending, this is a result of using COVID year funds, increasing programs and travel stipends which increased our attendance. Our legislative report recently submitted included a request for more funds for future years.

• CCA performance – Two programs didn’t make projections; overall accumulative numbers are good

• FY25 grant update (SB42, Cash Flow, PD/Judge Travel Stipends, Program Income, U.B. Carryover): PD stipends awarded to date is 77, approximately $33,000 left. We will do another blast Judge Rusty stipends six out of 30 have been awarded.

• Seminar Rates - Volunteers to help investigate rates charged by other organizations: Clay Steadman, Amanda Hernandez, Laurie Key, Damon Parish, and Angelica Cogliano.

CDLP Seminars, Paul Tu

Help us promote events in your local area so that we can meet the numbers and increase attendance.
