TEXAS FIRST BANK CELEBRATES 50 YEARS
Texas First Bank celebrated 50 years in business Jan. 11.
Nearly 200 people gathered in Hitchcock at what Texas First Bank Founder Charles T. Doyle calls the “Birthplace of Texas First Bank” — the Hitchcock banking center at 8128 Highway 6. Monsignor James Anderson gave the invocation. Speeches were given by Charles, Mary Ellen, Chris and Matt Doyle, along with a special resolution presentation by Galveston County Commissioners Joe Giusti and Stephen Holmes.
In 1973, Doyle and a group of investors purchased First State Bank of Hitchcock from Shearn Moody with a goal of opening banks in all incorpo-
rated cities in Galveston County. Gulf National Bank opened in Texas City in 1985 and in La Marque in 1993.
In 1995, the company made the official name change to Texas First Bank. By the end of the 20th century, there were Texas First Banks throughout Galveston County. Now, five decades later, the bank has grown from one location with $7 million in assets to 27 locations with $2.2 billion in assets across seven area counties.
Homegrown and locally owned, Texas First Bank has been a member of the Texas City-La Marque Chamber since 1982. Congratulations, Texas First Bank! Learn more at www.texasfirst.bank.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF TEXAS CITY WELCOMES NEW SENIOR PASTOR
TCISD ITC CAREER FAIR
On January 26, Texas City ISD Industrial Trades Center held its annual career fair for its senior class. Businesses from within the industry were able to meet with students who are currently learning pipefitting, welding, I&E, building construction and Maritime.
Lauren Kaiser, Director of Operations and Marielle Mascorro, Director of Communications, of the TCLM Chamber had a booth set up to talk to students about the Young Professionals Network and how to use chamber resources to find jobs and get connected with those in the community.
First Baptist Church Texas City would like to introduce its new Senior Pastor, Pierce Eaton, his wife, Karen, and their two daughters, Lyla and Flora. The church is very excited that he is joining the staff. His first Sunday service was Jan. 15.
Previously, Eaton served in ministry as a pastor in the San Antonio area. He considers himself a jack-of-all-trades in ministry and has served as a college minister, worship leader, youth pastor and associate pastor.
Eaton holds a Master of Arts in Theology, a Master of Divinity and is currently completing a Doctor of Educational Ministry through Southwestern Baptist Seminary. His doctoral emphasis is in leadership and discipleship. He is passionate about creating healthy leadership structures within the church that make disciples and develop believers to be Christ-centered leaders.
Eaton enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, watching sports (go Cowboys!), eating good food and
spending time outdoors. He has a passion for learning and teaching. If you are around him long, he will teach you about something new he is learning.
Eaton married Karen on Easter Sunday in 2015. They spent their first year of marriage working together as campus missionaries through the Baptist Student Ministry at Texas State University. Professionally, Karen is a School Psychologist and loves being an advocate for children. Karen enjoys time with her family, a good historical-fiction book and sunny days at the beach.
