AIDAN WALSH is fully fit again after missing Cork footballers’ victory over Limerick in the Munster quarter-final, and will line out for Duhallow tonight. The All-Star midfielder played a key role for Kanturk last weekend in their 2-20 to 0-10 IHC victory over Dripsey and tonight faces Carbery in the SFC at Coachford, 7.30pm. “It was only a slight knock the Thursday night before the Limerick game, but it was better not to take a risk,” explained Walsh. The DCU student will spend the summer making hurleys and is also involved in a number of coaching courses, which will

Walsh is hopeful the Kanturk hurlers, led by Anthony Nash and Lorcán McLoughlin, can build on last season, when they lost the county final to Kilworth. “It was a bit of a surprise to make it that far, but we got a lot of confidence from that. We’re hoping to push on again this year, but there’s a huge gap until we play the next round, so we can’t get too carried away either.” The Rebels face Clare in Ennis in the Munster semifinal on Sunday June 16, with Kerry waiting in Killarney on July 7.
Jose: I’m back for Mour glory
JOSE MOURINHO intends to prove himself as the Special One all over again after agreeing a return to Chelsea following six years away. The Portuguese coach was in London yesterday to complete the formalities of a second stint in charge of the west London club after his exit from Real Madrid was confirmed, penning a four-year deal. Mourinho led Chelsea to successive Barclays Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006 – not to mention the FA Cup and League Cup twice - before then leaving after his relationship with owner Abramovich broke down and they parted company, officially by mutual consent at the time. The 50-year-old maintains he cannot rest on his laurels if his beloved Chelsea are to again become the dominant force in the Premier League, where they last won the championship in 2010. “I am not coming here to sleep on what I did in the past and be comfortable just because we have a great feeling and we have a great relation, I am

not that kind of person and professional,” Mourinho said on Chelsea TV. “I am very demanding of myself, I need of course their (fans) support, but I want to start from ground zero. “I need to work hard again and build a different team from the team I built in the past, and I want to give everything I can to the club, to the owner and to the fans, forgetting a little bit that I was champion here. “I want to have that pressure on myself like it is the first time I am here and I have to work hard and to make sure they have a reason to be happy with me.” Meanwhile, Roberto Martinez was edging ever closer to a move to Everton after Wigan chairman Dave Whelan confirmed the two clubs have agreed a compensation payment. The Spaniard held talks with Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright last week and a deal has now been agreed to buy out the remaining year of Martinez’s contract. ● More soccer: P39-44
