Wine Appreciation
FLORAL DESIGN Welcome Wona Bae
like “buttery”, “earthy” and “velvety” mean when used to describe wine? What are “floral notes” and “hints of chocolate” doing in your glass? Learn how to taste and describe wine in the free wine appreciation sessions, then wander through the pop-up cellar doors of our local boutique wineries and try out your new-found knowledge. BOUTIQUE WINES Enjoy more than 20 “cellar doors” all within a short stroll as local awardwinning and family-owned wineries come together to showcase our region’s finest boutique wines. Our passionate and knowledgeable winemakers are keen to introduce their latest specialty releases and will be offering wine tastings and food pairing experiences to help guide your selections. Whether it’s a light and crisp white, a full-bodied red, a dessert sticky, or something inbetween, you are sure to find a new favourite at this year’s festival.
Award-winning sculptor and Master Floral Designer Wona Bae is our special guest in 2014. She is based in Melbourne and has exhibited internationally. An interest in the cycles of nature informs Wona’s sculpture. Simplicity and harmony are her key ideals as she explores a broad palette of natural materials from native dry woods to tropical vine leaves and redefines the perception of each substance in new and stimulating forms, with true ability to visually articulate the beauty in organic materials. Wona’s exhibited design, Common Ground, is made out of cork elm and three different coloured succulents. The organic web formed around the tree represents the traditional use of spaces: community meeting places where people come together to share ideas and shelter. Wona firmly believes that everyone has the potential to transform natural materials into

Josh will showcase creative ways to weave edible species throughout your
garden providing multiple benefits and year-round food. @ Secrets to successful organic gardening: Healthy gardens are living gardens and Josh reckons there’s no room for poisonous and disruptive chemicals. He’ll share his approach to organic growing that will help you get the most out of your backyard, naturally. @ Green home, green garden: How we design and manage our gardens can make a big impact on the performance of our homes and our environmental footprint.
