WELCOME This year we celebrate a decade as a Major Partner of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, one of the truly iconic events in regional Queensland. We are proud to once again be the naming rights sponsor of the Ergon Energy Flower, Food & Wine Festival, which brings together businesses, residents, community groups, volunteers and visitors to enjoy a diverse range of entertainment. Ergon Energy is continuing to invest in the future of the Toowoomba Region to ensure it has a safe and reliable power supply and we also seek to enhance the community by supporting events such as the Carnival of Flowers. Before you walk up the garden path. General Entry Terms PASS OUTS: Festival attendees are welcome to come and go from the Festival on the day of paid entry. Please ask for a pass out stamp from our staff located at the exit.
ITEMS NOT PERMITTED: Festival attendees must not bring food to the event. Food items that are found during a search, or at any time during the event, will be confiscated.
RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL: As an event for all ages, the Ergon Energy Flower, Food & Wine Festival is committed to the responsible service of alcohol.
Festival attendees may not bring in alcohol, illegal drugs and controlled substances, weapons or other items deemed dangerous.
Patrons cannot bring alcohol into the Festival precinct. All bags, containers, prams and baskets are subject to a full search at entry and patrons found to be bringing alcohol or restricted items to the Festival will be asked to dispose of these items and may be refused entry. If you are over 18 years of age and wish to purchase or sample alcohol, you may need to produce ID in the form of a Passport, Driver’s License or an 18+ Card. Upon entry to the Festival, you may be issued with a wristband to identify that you are permitted to drink alcohol at the event. Anyone found to be supplying or buying alcohol for a minor will be evicted from the Festival and will possibly face criminal charges. The sale of alcohol will cease at 10pm.
SMOKING: The Festival is a smoking free environment. Smoking is only permitted in the designated outdoor smoking area clearly signed within the Festival. Please note the consumption of food and drink is not permitted in this area. ATM: Two ATMs located within the Festival. PARK & RIDE: The park & ride pickup/ drop off zone is located in Margaret Street directly outside the entry to the Festival. FARM TO PLATE SPACE Farm to Plate is where our regional food story comes deliciously to life. Savour the best produce our Region has to offer with daily tastings from 10am to 5pm. Meanwhile, live cooking demonstrations take centre stage each day in the Farm to Plate Space.

MONICA TOPLISS
Fast Ed Halmagyi is one of Australia’s best-loved TV chefs and food authors. Best known as the cooking presenter on Network 7’s Logie-winning Better Homes and Gardens, he transforms elegant restaurant cuisine into recipes that anyone can prepare at home. Ed’s motto is ‘when you do less, the ingredients can do more!’.
Monica’s passion for food was fostered by her Italian restaurateur parents. From the age of nine she helped out in the family’s restaurants in the UK. That passion grew into a restaurant career, working and training in London for the famous Roux brothers, before coming to Australia in 1993. Monica is Australia’s leading glutenfree, whole food chef and has established restaurants on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast for over 20 years.

Don’t know your saison from your IPA? Your porter from your stout? Enter the world of craft beer with our Beer Appreciation session and discover more about beer styles, flavours and food-matching, all while sampling some great local brews.
You’ll become a grape guru at free wine sessions in the Wine Bar. Learn how to taste and describe wine like an expert and understand terms like ‘buttery’ and ‘earthy’. You can then wander through the pop-up cellar doors and try out your new-found knowledge.

THE PLAY SPACE Why should adults have all the fun? The Play Space is an amazing interactive space designed for children. Throughout the Festival the space will host performances on the Heritage Bank Community Stage by the Trash Test Dummies as well a dedicated children’s program encouraging kids of all ages to play, design, build, discover, draw, dig, cook and create!
TRASH TEST DUMMIES The Trash Test Dummies are a side-splitting comedy troupe with a dump truck full of incredible circus skills. The kids eyes will be glued to this brilliant show of non-stop balance, acrobatics and juggling tricks. Find out why they amazed audiences at the Melbourne Comedy Festival! Times Sat 11.30am
KATH DICKSON FAMILY CENTRE Kids will get their creativity mojo on with funtastic garden-themed craft projects.
CRAZY CANDLES Kids will experience the joy of creating their own colourful candles.

CULTURE TO COUTURE SPACE Budding designers have the opportunity to turn inspiration into high-end fashion. Under the guidance of award-winning designer and stylist Carolyn Taylor-Smith their creations might even come to life and be modelled throughout the Festival. Look out for the Pop-up Parades every day of the Festival. Culture to Couture is a celebration of the culture, agriculture and horticulture of this bountiful Region expressed through beautiful natural fabrics and inspired design.
ART AND CRAFT
HANDMADE IN COUNTRY MARKET Textile artists, silversmiths and more of the most talented artisans in the Region bring their creations to these amazing markets. There are also live demonstrations of the Hand Made in Country Artisans Network.

THE GARDEN SPACE The Garden Space is a must-visit for all aspiring gardeners. See presentations from Charlie Albone, landscape designer and TV presenter on Selling Houses Australia, and wander through to discover what’s new in “garden design” from outdoor design and décor to the latest innovations in landscaping and gardening.

INTERFLORA FLORAL DESIGN COMPETITION An exciting expansion of the Festival’s floral offering this year will be a companion event – Interflora’s annual Queensland (District 5) competition – which will be staged and displayed alongside other Festival components. The competition is a substantial addition to the program with design challenges and prize announcements on Saturday 19 September and the completed entries remaining on display for the rest of the Festival. Interflora will be holding a Masterchef inspired floral program with Pressure Tests and Invention tests. There will be surprise boxes as well.
