Twenty-eight years ago Henr y and Jeanette decided they were too old to manhandle cabinets anymore. With that decision, they handed over the custom-cabinetr y business to their son, James, and opened Lonesome Pine Nurser y on the same property. “People are much nicer buying plants!” Linda Neighbors, a customer since day one, quips “Henr y charged extra for these weeds!” Jeanette says, “We don’t have a business, we have one big family ” and that really is how it feels at Lonesome Pine. In October 2020 Henr y passed away after 52 years of marriage to Jeanette. But his legac y lives on at the nurser y in a por trait that sits among the plants in the greenhouse, keeping Jeanette company in spirit during her work days.
