Printed Books
Digital Books
WEIGHT - Traditional books are heavy
- E-books are light; no matter how many you have in your gadget, the weight is the same - Convenient, too: one can also read in their mobile phones which are, by now, ubiquitous
STORAGE - They take up too much space
http://clubeinglesoure.blogspot.pt
- One can have a whole library stored in their laptop, tablet or/and cell phone

BATTERY - No batteries, therefore no need to charge
- In case one forgets to charge the device, they won’t be able to read (or do anything else!)
SPEED - Well, ordering books takes days, may even take up to 2/3 weeks if coming from abroad
- When you buy or download a free ebook, your satisfaction is immediate
VALUE - One can sell their books – new, used, first editions, signed copies… and make good money… or invest in them!

- Never heard of second-hand digital books; they are not worth a penny…

AFFORDABILITY - Physical titles almost always have an associated price... paperbacks and second-hand books are usually cheap, but if you buy them online, besides the waiting time, you usually have to pay for the shipping costs
- You can always download free / public domain books from different websites, but if/when you buy electronic books, they are usually cheaper than their printed counterparts. Let’s not forget, though, that tablets or e-readers also cost money and if something happens to them (imagine you remove the books accidentally or your device is broken or stolen), you lose everything – at least temporarily
CONNECTIVITY - Even in the smallest / farthest place, you’ll always find something to read – a newspaper, a magazine, a leaflet; with luck a local bookshop, therefore, no need of any device or connectivity to read printed stuff http://clubeinglesoure.blogspot.pt
- If you haven’t downloaded the e-book you’re reading or need a new one, without internet, you won’t be able to access it Alexandra Duarte
FONTS - Paperbacks are cheaper, but almost always have small fonts making it more difficult to read, and sometimes also very short margins for readers to jot down their remarks
- Magnificent! Readers can change the font size, the darkness / brightness of the lettering and some e-readers even have built-in reading lights
TRADITION - Nothing compares to the touch and smell of books and having bookcases full of real books! Who would miss the tactile pleasure of turning a page or those smelly old books one got as a present or inheritance??? Priceless! Gutenberg’s invention has resisted over 500 years. Are we going to betray him now?
- E-books are nothing more than digital files. They have zero value. Besides, it breaks my heart to know about local bookstores and public libraries closing down ď Œ
