Special Valentine Wicked Little Chocolate Muffins
Chocolate Heart Muffins 250g plain flour ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda 2 tsp baking powder 100g caster sugar 100g butter 200g dark chocolate 250ml buttermilk 2 medium eggs icing sugar for dusting chocolate hearts (optional, for decoration)

RECIPE
1. Preheat the oven to 200ยบ. Butter then flour mini-heart baking tins ( or simply use oven-safe silicone baking moulds).

2. Mix together the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a pan over a gentle heat. Off the heat, beat in the buttermilk and eggs. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry, but try not to overmix.

3. Spoon the mix into the muffin holes / tins, then bake for 20-25 min, until risen and springy. Cool in the tin, then ease out with a spatula and dust with icing sugar. Decorate with chocolate hearts, if you like.
