Ciara’s new music video for the single “Dance Like We’re Making Love” made it’s world premiere in association with VEVO on the Sony Jumbotron in Times Square, New York City. Produced by powerhouse Dr. Luke [Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Britney Spears], “Dance Like We’re Making Love” is the latest single from her sixth full-length album, Jackie. Directed by Dave Meyers [Katy Perry, P!nk], it’s a slick, sultry, and sexy cinematic affair. Summer gets hotter than ever as the Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum superstar lights up the screen with a sizzling dance sequence, seductive pool vignette, and a lion as her co-star. In order to introduce “Dance Like We’re Making Love,” Ciara was a guest on Access Hollywood LIVE where she discussed the video & album and even personally previewed an exclusive clip. 2015 continues to be a killer year for this established star. Trends for
Spring/Summer ‘15 by Gabriella Collins
If you’re wondering where you’ll be able to look for key trends this season on the high street, look no further, as this report will be drawing inspiration straight from the runway and showcasing where they can be found and bought for this Spring/Summer ’15. This Spring/Summer is currently seeing a collaboration between both comfort and sophistication with a new and sporty twist. Asymmetry and oversizing are just some of the key silhouettes this year, showcasing trends of split shirting, overlapping and layering of both light and woven fabrics. Some of the key influences this year for S/S 15 originate from oriental traditional dress, featuring lengthy shirts, dresses and trenches with ties and knots hitching in at the waist, as well as exotic prints; a style which is taking on a new and futuristic transformation.
Oriental Futurism
Images - catwalkpictures.com
Marni’s Spring/Summer 2015 Ready to Wear Collection at the Rontonda Della Besana featured a monochrome colour palette with a martial art and artisanal aesthetic. The black belt as worn on the left, puts emphasis on the model’s waist, while the overlapping fabrics create drapery over the body, making it slightly more linear on one side, while fuller on the other. This outfit can be teamed with thicker-soled sandals featuring wider straps, and toe straps that prove a more simplistic footwear item this year than in previous years. Block colours, are giving a more masculine twist to womenswear this year, and MARNI the apron effect and asymmetric detailing provides a new exploration in the way we wear our clothes and reminiscent of historical elements through clothing items such as the Grecian toga, as well as Oriental adaptations of the Kimono.

Where can I find this? The high-street is currently showcasing clothing ranges featuring similar characteristics to Marni’s spring/ summer collection. This Topshop wrap-over co-ord by Boutique shown below, is perfect for an elegant but casual chic look for both daytime and eveningwear. Not only does it encapsulate some of the key attributes for this year’s trends; it is 100% wool which is another turning point in fashion for this year’s fabric trends, where naturalistic and organic materials are prominent. Co-ords also offer a dynamic range of mix and match, meaning that you can create all kinds of looks, just by swapping either the top or the bottoms to create a new outfit altogether keeping things fresh and energetic. Also, doing this highlights an awareness of the environment, something very important in the fashion industry today. Designers are very aware of the impact of clothing such as water consumption through dyeing and cotton usage. So throughout this year, fashion is really finding its feet in sustainability for the future, providing items with multiple ways of wearing and pairing.

Trends for Spring/Summer ‘15 Marine Formations Coral formations have been seen on the runway to inspire crochet patterns as well as fabric usage, with the sea and natural formations being of major influence for the summer. Metallic trends have been reworked and continue with the eastern oriental theme and is envisioned to carry on into the Autumn/ Winter 2015 trends, using traditional fabrics such as silk and crochet, and exploring the use of the more modern neoprene and cut work detailing.
FRENCH CONNECTION Lucky layer strappy dress £79.00
VALENTINO
Throughout French Connections Summer 2015 ranges, you can find many garments that encapsulate specific elements of the sea, also being highly focused on within the designer runway collections for the season. Sheer fabrics, and playing around with opacity and transparency have become a heightened trend throughout the spring and are set to continue throughout the summer with new areas of exposure. Crochet takes on a new life this summer, with explorative positioning on the body combining traditional craft with a doily nature, to a more masculine, linear silhouette.

Raw Denim meets Stripes and Checks This key trend explores stripe proportion and direction, as well as raw cut denim and edges showcasing a nautical colour palette of navy, white, cream, pale blues, red and burnt oranges. This trend also follows the wider leg style silhouette likely to finish before the ankles, introducing 1960’s style skirts as well as inheriting a country/ westernised theme.
Where can I find this? Stripes no longer have to be vertical for them to compliment your shape, as horizontal stripes have become thicker on a looser silhouette. Striped and checked items can be complimented wearing denim items such as denim culottes as well as denim skirts. These items are essential this season for a casual and everyday look.

Trends for Spring/Summer ‘15 Botanical Bohemia The Summer 2015 runway has created visions of botanical gardens and exotic wildlife through eclectic prints, playing on psychedelic and naturalistic vibrancy, as well as the introduction of culottes and wider leg trousers, reminiscent of the 1970’s hippie revival. Artists such as Henri Matisse, Frida Kahlo and Yayoi Kusama have proven to be the greatest of inspirations throughout this trend. Many designers then adapting patterns and concepts that these artists provided in their artwork, in order to create an almost nostalgic but sensual theme, in keeping with the oriental topic of the season.

Boclé’s metaphorical installations depict a wasteland of ruined civilisations from post-colonial consciousness and history, a quasi-memorial to lives lost at sea during the transatlantic slave trade. “...ubiquitous plastic bags of supermarket checkouts become air inflated, supplied with oxygen to symbolise the priceless commodity that is life itself ” (Saatchi). This is an interesting way to mourn and remember a certain period of time past that is lost. This is worth exploring and taking a look.

Diego Mendoza Imbachi Born in Popayán, Cauca, Colombia. Imbachi explores natural landscape and topographies of rural Colombia. He has a natural ability for taking something simple such as a pencil and a graphite piece to portray a beautiful message through his artwork. He looks at how industrialisation has affected farming and landscaping. The issues he raises are that farming and agriculture is a big source of income for most people, industrialisation therefore becomes a problem for workers. His drawings observe the rapid changes in the landscape and raises issues of mining Colombia’s natural resources. Pieces to look out for at Saatchi’s gallery is Graphis – Loggia 2014 and Graphis – Natura 2014. It doesn’t stop here, there are many other talented artists presenting their work at this exhibition. Trends for
Autumn/Winter ‘15 by Gabriella Collins
Images - catwalkpictures.com
Have you ever wondered what traditional femininity would look like if it collaborated with a more masculine and urbanised edge? Well, it seems as though we are about to find out this coming Autumn/ Winter 2015, which is taking on and enhancing the oriental theme for the year, and set to expose it within a new colour palette and within new and thicker fabrics. Silhouettes of the season aim more towards the highlighting of the waist, exhibiting an exploration of structure and fitting with playful lengths and oversizing. Styles and detailing evocative of the 70’s and 60’s still dominate the trends throughout these colder seasons, also introducing more tailored fittings producing a slimmer and linear silhouette. This years trends showcase an eclectic and diverse range of influences and collaborations in which fashion can be seen to be taking on a transformation.

COMPÔNERE MAGAZINE
FASHION
Metallic Foliage Erdem’s Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection featured on the runway earlier this year saw metallic fabrics and prints on dresses with thick collar stands providing more subtle exotic foliage patterns and embellishments than in previous seasons. It seems that 1960’s silhouettes and collars are making a comeback this autumn/ winter. Many designers have been combining silk fabrics with khaki parkas and double-breasted coats carrying on from the spring/summer trends of wrap-over garments, forecasting visions of cross contamination of eclectic elements in trends to come.
Where can I find this? Although it might be too early to go searching for A/W clothing trends on the high street, I have been able to find a few items which could easily translate into what to expect for these seasons. Vibrant colours will be fundamental this season with a dark backdrop. Gradient dipped coats and dresses will be a key trend feature with block colours and a new translation of exotic prints. Fuchsia, jungle greens, golds and cyan blue are colours that will be drawn from black and camel coloured garments, continuing the summers botanical inspirations, but rather in an evenings light. In between brights such as forgetme-not flower blues, will prove tasteful splashes of colour for the colder seasons.

Traditional features and craft such as lace and embroidery, will be set within more futuristic materials with patented and matte featured prints. Ponchos, bohemian maxi dresses and 1960’s trapeze coats will be evocative throughout this colour palette. This trend will extract colours and provide a positive and negative twist on print and tailoring.

Trends for Autumn/Winter ‘15 Lace Meets Fur
Lace and crochet become drenched in bright and bold colours this Autumn/ Winter as shown at London Fashion Week’s designer collection by Ryan Lo. Delicate lace and detailing have been seen in this collection to really create a contrast with fur hems, pockets, arm-holes and necklines, proving that fur does not necessarily belong just to a coat. Co-ordinating shoes with garments may begin to see a trend formation, however, the more sporty footwear of Spring/Summer may prolong itself into the fall season. The silhouettes for this trend feature flowy skirting giving a 70’s twist, as well as copped sleeves and bodices for a more 60’s feel. High collars with ruffles and ruffled sleeve finishings not only give a retro appeal, but portray elements of the Victorian era. This season showcases an eclectic array of influences that previous seasons have never seen before.

A C C E S S O by Chloe Granger
The accessories emerging for AW15 collections are taking a plunge into the thick square heeled shoes, boxy, bold bags and an abundance of statement jewellery. The importance of accessories is as great as ever, as we have seen a lot of it on the runways at recent shows.
Shoes
Forget those thin, six inch stilettos that you could barely walk in. This season is all about embracing square shaped heels; thick and small. Appearing on the catwalks of Miu-miu and Chanel, petite shoes with a streamlined toe and a thin strap around the ankle were worn. The chunky heel gives them a very edgy style which are versatile as they work with trousers or skirts. Also seen, were knee high boots with this cuboid shaped heel. Both the likes of Alexander Mcqueen and Valentino runways displayed these, both in a nude patent material. A recurring trend underpinning a lot of the fashion world recently is definitely the shorter, boxier heel, on boots or pumps and we look forward to seeing how the fashionistas of the world style them.
Hats
44
Very low cut hats are trending for AW15. Presented by Kenzo and Ashley Williams, the brim of the hat reaches just above the eye, covering the eyebrow. In Ashley William’s case, the eyes were covered by the fluffy concoction of the brim. The crown of the hat was a domed, rounded shape which is very elegant and accentuates the shape of the head, emphasising it as a body part. Bringing together two design features from different time periods, the round crown emulating the victorian bonnet and a low brim is a new style that when mixed with an old trend, creates something special. The hat, this season, definitely won’t go unnoticed with its unique, modern shape and the material used, particularly in Ashley William’s collection is definitely practical for the cold nature of Autumn and Winter months. COMPÔNERE MAGAZINE
FASHION
R I E S Jewellery
If there’s one thing that couldn’t bear to go unnoticed on the runway, it is definitely the jewellery. You can forget the ‘less-is-more’ view, because it’s safe to say that it’s truly the opposite. Statement pieces are totally chic and chandelier earrings occurred frequently. The Givenchy catwalk encouraged an overload of jewellery ...even to the face. You don’t have to go out wearing jewellery plastered all over your face and hooked onto every facial feature possible, but they are definitely trying to tell us something. Less is definitely not more. Heavy statement earrings prove very stylish in the AW15 collections, demonstrated by Givenchy and Missoni.
Bags
The bags this season definitely mirrored the style of the aforementioned heel. The bags were mainly very boxy and laden with bold colours and patterns. A geometric pattern proved an immensity popular design feature, appearing on Louis Vuitton and Chanel runways. Bright colour is very important on the whole this season, for all accessories and garments too. No more monochrome, this Autumn is going to have an explosion of colour, welcoming in the cold months.

TRAVEL
In the heart of it all is an 18th century church which can be explored if you are interested in architecture and churches. Its rustic and timeless looks are especially beautiful at night. San Fernando is a sleepy little village that is great for exploring and relaxing away from the beach. It has a laid back and relaxed atmosphere about it that draws many people to it. There are narrow streets with all types of bars that are easy to find especially on a warm summers night. Enjoy a few drinks and socialise in the beautiful Island of Formentera after soaking up the rays and heat of day. As an alternative to walking, hire a scooter to view the island at a new angle, one that is completely fast paced and interesting. Get out and about in an exciting, adventurous way, breezing past the beaches, landscapes and historical buildings on two wheels. These two destinations would be a perfect summer holiday, away from the busy hectic city life, to a quieter and more serene environment. This is perfect for a private adventure, romantic getaway or a family trip.
