Nikon’s flagship DSLR, the D7100, with 24.1 megapixles and full 1080p HD video, has more than enough image processing power to handle the most complicated and thorough video projects. Paired with an 18105mm VR DX kit lens or available 50 mm lens, the D7100 makes shooting in multiple environments a breeze. Low-light conditions are not a problem as the D7100 has variable ISO modes up to 6400 and is expandable to a full range of ISO 25600. Shutter speeds of up to 7 frames per second and video modes of 24, 30, or 60 frames per second allow the flexibility of fast, fluid motion video or a classic cinematic look. With a variable aperture from f/16 all the way up to f/1.8, students have the ability to work in multiple lighting environments. Manual and auto-focus options are available at as close at 1.5’.
The ability to utilize external microphone inputs sets the D7100 apart from competing DSLRs. TV Services has Nikon’s stereo microphone attachment, the ME-1, available for rental.
