UAE COMMITS TO 50-YEAR SPACE SECTOR FOCUS: SARAH AL AMERI The UAE Space Agency, in collaboration with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, revealed the results of their 2021 Space Economic Survey, focusing on assessing and boosting the national space sector. Notable findings included a 6.61 percent spending increase in the sector, with government expenditure rising significantly. Research and development spending also saw a notable increase, mainly in space exploration. Emirati nationals comprised a substantial part of the workforce. The survey showed that over half of the entities benefiting from spacerelated services were based in the UAE, primarily in communications,

security, education, tourism, and entertainment. Scientific publications saw a significant increase.
