Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) brings together students from 150+ countries and 50 U.S. states to discuss innovative academic topics with Yale professors and instructors. Taking place at Yale University, YYGS emphasizes an open, exploratory, and collaborative approach to learning, with twoweek sessions in STEM, social sciences, and humanities.

At YYGS, participants explore future areas of study, make lifelong global friendships, and experience campus university life. YYGS emphasizes learning for the sake of learning, and students participate in a noncompetitive environment where they are encouraged to share global perspectives and contribute openly to classroom discussions.

YYGS is dedicated to increasing education access for students of all backgrounds, and each year we offer $3 million USD in need-based financial aid to U.S. domestic and international students.

Student Testimonials:

“YYGS questioned things I thought I knew, scratched beyond the surface level, and helped me effectively communicate my ideas and opinions. I’ve grown with a community of inspiring students, dedicated staff, and passionate professors. Words couldn’t even begin to describe this experience, but I am beyond grateful.”

- Janine, YYGS Participant

“My favorite seminar was conducted by Eric Tu about economics: “Show Me Proof: Modeling Theories of Growth.” I found it so compelling that this year I decided to enroll in an economics class at school, and I am now considering pursuing an economics major in college. After attending this seminar, I was able to clearly see what I wanted to do in life because I had no idea who I wanted to become before enrolling in YYGS.”

- Aizirek, YYGS Participant
