Tennis Europe Junior Masters Four new champions have been crowned at the Tennis Europe Junior Masters after a testing final day of competition in which the weather proved to be as unpredictable as the results.
“I started very well and then I lost my concentration a little bit, and she started to play better. In the third set, I had to concentrate really hard to come back from 51 down and I started playing very well. The rain made things very difficult,” she said.
The first winner of the day at the CT Rocco Polimeni in Reggio Calabria was Helene Pellicano, who became the first ever Maltese Junior Masters champion, surviving not only heavy thunderstorms but also a thunderous fightback from her opponent. In contrast to her two previous matches, Pellicano started well, but Ukrainian rival Marta Kostyuk found her range to level the match at one-set apiece after a second rain break. Kostyuk then blasted to a 5-1 final set lead before the third seed once again found her rhythm, calmly making her way back into the match and taking a 6-5 lead.
Looking back at her season, Pellicano commented, “I am very happy with this year. I played some great matches and have played a lot of different players. Next year I’ll play some 16 & Unders and also some Under 18s.” The champion received another boost at the prize-giving ceremony later in the day, where she was also named as the winner of the tournament’s Fair Play Award in recognition of her good sportsmanship throughout the weekend.
By the time Kostyuk forced a deciding tie-break the momentum was with her opponent, and sure enough Pellicano conceded just one point to take the sixth and biggest title of what has been a productive year on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour.
The 14 & Under boys’ final was a battle between the two top-ranked players on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, #1 Timofey Skatov of Russia and #2 Filip Jianu of Romania. The two had met twice already this season, with the Russian coming out on top both times, but Jianu emerged as champion on this occasion, recovering from a 3-5 deficit in each set to eventually tri-

Tennis Europe Junior Masters umph 7-5 7-5 in a match that was streamed live online by the host club (sadly the weather conditions scuppered plans to broadcast all four finals). Jianu was in dominant form throughout the weekend, clinching the title without the loss of a single set in his three matches. He was particularly pleased to win a second title of the season, having reached a total of seven finals, and explained, “This is the toughest tournament, with the top eight players in Europe. I didn’t think that I could win here at the start of the tournament; I’m so happy!” Marina Bassols Ribera became the third Spanish champion of the girls’ 16 & Under event and was the second player to win the championships this year without conceding a set. The second seed was pushed hard by Ukrainian opponent Viktoriia Dema though, and had to raise her game to secure the victory in a second set tie-break. With the win, Bassols closes her stellar Tennis Europe Junior Tour season with a record of 26 matches won and just two lost. “It was a great way to end the year,” she said. “I won many matches, and the two defeats were both to the same girl [Ekaterina Makarova], so I am very happy. I hope that next year I can manage to play some WTA qualifying and of course the junior Grand Slams. Those are my goals, but it will be tough.” The last of the four finals to be decided was the boys’ 16 & Under, which featured last year’s 14 & under runner-up Marko Miladinovic of Serbia and Germany’s Robert Strombachs.
ty of support in the crowd, many of whom remembered his performances in 2014. The match was characterised by fierce rallies, and the Serb came out on top of many of them, remaining under pressure but in control throughout the encounter, eventually triumphing 6-3 6-4 with a forehand volley and a roar of approval. “I won five titles this year, but this is definitely the biggest,” he said. “I had a little bit extra motivation after losing the final last year, so I’m very happy to be able to come back and win this time.” Bronze medals were also awarded, following thirdplace play-off matches and went to Oana Corneanu of Romania (Girls’ 14 & Under, beat Vitalia Stamat of Moldova), Giulio Zeppieri of Italy (Boys 14 & Under, beat Duje Ajdukovic of Croatia), Daria Frayman of Russia (beat compatriot Daria Lukyanova) and Leonid Sheyngezikht of Bulgaria (Boys 16 & Under, beat Francesco Forti of Italy). This was the 20th edition of the Junior Masters tournament. This year’s champions will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of former champions Rafael Nadal and Kim Clijsters. Other players to have participated at the event include Grand Slam champions Andy Murray and Flavia Pennetta. Full draws, results and a photo gallery from the tournament can be found here.

Tennis Europe Nations Challenge by HEAD Teams from Denmark (boys) and Ukraine (girls) have each recorded historic double wins, adding the Nations Challenge by HEAD to the Winter Cups by HEAD titles earned in February to sweep the team events in the 12 & Under age category. In Ajaccio (FRA), Ukraine beat Russia 3/0 to claim the girls’ title for the first time in the history of the competition. The opening match of the final tie saw Lyubov Kostenko withstand a spirited fightback from Ksenia Aleshina to give Ukraine an early lead. Kostenko claimed the first set on a tie-break before the Russian levelled at one-set apiece after a ten-game second set. Kostenko upped her game from there though, reeling off six straight games to claim the third set to love. The second singles was a battle between two of the most successful players on the 12 & Under Tour so far this season, as Maria Bondarenko of Russia took on the player to have won more matches than anyone else in the age group; Daria Lopatetskaya. Sadly for the Russians, the match was not nearly as competitive as the first encounter, as Lopatetskaya wasted no time in extending her 2015 win/loss record to an astounding 39/3 with a 6-2 6-0 win. The dead doubles match was played, with Ukraine completing a 3/0 win as Kostenko and Kateryna Rublevska beat Bondarenko and Vladislava Petrovskaia 7-5 7-6(5). Russia had been unbeaten until the final, beating Czech Republic, Belgium and Germany at the round-robin stage. Ukraine bounced back from a 2/1 defeat in their opening round-robin match against Great Britain to oust Turkey, Italy and Russia in successive days. At the boy’s final rounds in Antalya, Turkey, the Danish team managed to emulate the achievement of Ukraine’s girls by beating Spain to claim the title for the first time.

The opening rubber of the final went to Denmark in comfortable fashion as Elmer Moeller lost just four games to Alejandro Turriziani Alvarez. As in Ajaccio, the second singles match saw two of the tour’s in-form players face each other. Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune has been one of the mst consistent boys on the circuit in 2015, losing just two of his 23 matches prior to the Nations Challenge finals and winning several of the leading 12 & Under tournaments. Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia of Spain had won his only tournament played, the Vilas Cup in Mallorca in May.
Boys
Girls
The Dane started strongly, breaking twice in the first set to establish a 6-2 lead, but Alcaraz Garfia struck back to take the second set 6-4 before levelling the tie with a 6-2 third set that ended Rune’s winning streak at 18 matches.

Both Moller and Rune returned for the deciding doubles, while Alcaraz Garfia was joined by Daniel Rincon. The Danes are regular partners who have won several tournaments together on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, but they were pushed hard by the Spanish pair, who recovered from the loss of a 14-point opening set tie break to level the match with a 3-6 second set. It was Moller & Rune who would combine better in the third set though, conceding just two games to secure a second team title of the season for their country.

European Summer Cups The Czech Republic’s girls and Germany’s boys are the new European 16 & Under team champions after the two teams scored contrasting wins over Russian opposition on the final day of their respective competitions. In Budapest, Hungary, where the girls’ final rounds were being played for a second consecutive year, the Czechs were the first team to complete a victory. Monika Kilnarova gave the top seeds an early lead, scoring a 7-5 6-2 win over 2013 European 14 & Under Champion and Junior Masters winner Evgeniya Levashova. The second match was a mouth-watering prospect, with junior world #1 Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic facing the recent European 16 & Under silver medallist Elena Rybakina. The Russian had won 18 of her last 19 matches on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour and started confidently, taking the first set 6-4 and going toe-to-toe with her rival in the second, which eventually went to a tie break. With the Russian poised to level the tie, Vondrousova seized the initiative, conceding just two points in the deciding game to level the match before securing an early break in the third and eventually clinching the tie – and the Championship – with a 6-3 final set. The German and Czech 16&U teams show off their gold medals.
The dead doubles rubber wasn’t played, leaving the Czech team free to celebrate their first title in this event since 2002, and seventh overall (three as part of Czechoslovakia). Spain came from behind to beat the Netherlands 2/1 and claim the bronze medals. The boys’ finals in Le Touquet (FRA) were hotly dis-
puted, with Germany facing Russia in the title match for the second time in three years. Last year’s 14 & Under Junior Masters champion Nicola Kuhn gave Germany an early lead with a crushing 6-0 7-5 win over Russia’s Mikhail Sokolovskiy in the opening singles match.

European Summer Cups The second singles was a battle between two of the standout players of the European Junior Championships in Moscow, as silver medallist Artem Dubrivnyy took on bronze medallist Marvin Moeller. This time it was the Russian player that would lose just five games as a dominant Dubrivnyy worked his way to a 6-3 6-2 win that levelled the tie. After a rest, the four players returned to court for a deciding doubles match. Russia gained the early upper hand, taking the first set 6-3 before relinquishing the second by the same score. The players were by now very familiar with each other; they also met in the semi-finals of the doubles event in Moscow, with the Russian’s coming out on top in straight sets. On this occasion though the German team combined better and better as the match went on, eventually coming out on top with a 6-2 final set win. The victory was Germany’s first since 2001 in this age group and continues an excellent recent run in Tennis Europe team events, highlighting the progression of this generation of German players. Having claimed both of the 14 & Under team competitions in 2014, the 16 & Under team now holds both the Winter and Summer Cups titles. Poland earlier completed a 3/0 rout over Sweden to claim the boys bronze medal position. Both the boys’ and girls’ 16 & Under Summer Cups are considered as the European qualifying event for the Junior Davis and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas competition, the finals of which were held in Madrid at the end of September. 18 & Under events Russia has beaten Belarus to claim the 50th Soisbault/Reina Cup title, winning the girls’ 18 & Under European Summer Cups event for an eighth time. At No.6 on the ITF Junior rankings, Anna Kalinskaya was a strong #2 player for the Russian squad, but she struggled early on against Iryna Shymanovich in the tie’s opening rubber, dropping the first set before coming back to record a three set win in almost two hours of play. World #4 Anna Blinkova then stepped up to secure the tie, racing to a 6-3 6-2 victory over Vera Lapko to ensure an unassailable 2/0 lead for the unseeded Russian team. Even though the tie was settled, the players returned for the doubles match, where Kalinskaya

was partnered by Aleksandra Pospelova and Shymanovich teamed up with Aryna Sabalenka. The match proved to be the highlight of the final, with the Russians eventually outlasting their opponents 7-5 4-6 [10-5]. The win is Russia’s first in the 18 & Under girls’ event since 2008, which marked the last of four consecutive wins. Earlier in the day, Hungary beat Czech Republic 2/1 to claim the bronze medals. This year was a very special edition of the competition, the 50th anniversary of the tournament’s founding. To mark the occasion, a number of special events were held during the weekend. Guests including former competitor and Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli, French Tennis Federation President Jean Gachassin and Tennis Europe President Jacques Dupré were on hand to see the club’s centre court re-named in honour of Annie Soisbault. Soisbault, who sadly passed away in 2012, was a sporting pioneer in both tennis and Formula 1, and a constant presence at the tournament that bears her name, welcoming and inspiring the generations of young players that have participated in the event.

European Summer Cups At the boys’ Valerio/Galea Cup finals in La Rochelle, Slovakia fought back from the loss of the first rubber, enjoyed a little luck and then scored a great doubles win to secure the title for the first time in the history of the competition. In fact, both teams were shooting for their first ever title in this age category, and it was Romania that got off to the better start, as Nicolae Frunza scored a routine 6-4 6-3 win over Lukas Klein in the opening singles. Alex Molcan was in control of the second match for Slovakia when opponent Calin Manda was forced to retire when trailing 2-6 1-1, allowing the unseeded
Slovakians to level the tie. Slovakia’s two singles players returned to the court for the deciding doubles match, where they faced the experienced pairing of Frunza and Bogdan Borza, 2011 European 14 & Under doubles champions who had also teamed to secure the Copa del Sol title for Romania that year. Molcan showed that his singles win was no fluke however, as the Slovakian team took control of the match from the very beginning, running out with a 61 6-3 victory before lifting the trophy. The bronze medal match saw defending champions Spain beat France 2/1 to claim third place.

European Junior Championships The last week of July saw some new stars take centre stage as the Tour’s biggest event – the European Junior Championships – returned for its 40th edition at three separate venues across Europe. In the 14 & Under category, Iga Swiatek of Poland and Duje Ajdukovic of Croatia were crowned as the new champions after a week of high-quality tennis at the TK Slavia Pilsen (CZE). Unseeded Swiatek put in a dominant performance in the final to blast past the tournament’s top seed and European #2 Taisya Pachkaleva of Russia 6-2 61, becoming the first Polish girl ever to win the title. Swiatek seemed to get better and better as the tournament progressed. Having lost the second set of their third round match to talented Serbian Olga Danilovic, she recovered to win the last six games and never looked back, winning the rest of her matches in straight sets and losing a total of just five games in her last two matches. She also achieved the rare feat of winning two gold medals, having sealed the doubles title the previous day alongside Maja Chwalinska. The pair beat Italians Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Federica Rossi. Incredibly, the European Championships – the biggest title on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour – is Swiatek’s first tournament win of the season, though she did also lead Poland’s Winter Cups by HEAD team to victory in February. Eighth seeded Ajdukovic scored a third consecutive upset win to complete his path to the boys’ title. Having surprised #2 seed Adrian Andreev (BUL) and #5 Wojciech Marek (POL) in his previous two matches, the Croatian withstood a second set fightback from #4 Filip Jianu of Romania before completing a 6-4 2-6 6-2 win. Ajdukovic was in impressive form in the run up to the tournament, reaching the quarterfinals of the tough 16 & Under Avvenire event in Milan and leading his team to the final of the 14 & Under European Summer Cups event. The win is just his second title of the season though, having earlier triumphed at the Category 2 Mladost Grill Open in Zagreb. He becomes the first Croatian boy to win the title since Mario Ancic in 1998. The previous day’s doubles final saw Czech team Jiri Lehecka & Andrew Paulson please the home crowd in Pilsen with a 6-0 6-4 win over the top seeded Russians Matvey Minin & Timofey Skatov.

European Junior Championships International Tennis Federation and Tennis Europe, and took a look at this year’s celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour. Dr. Iva Klimesová of the University of Olomouc then informed the junior players about the importance of proper nutrition for high performance tennis, focusing on issues such as how athletes should remain hydrated during competition, and when, what and how much to eat. Faye Andrews of The Emilia Group then gave the players an introduction to the role of the media in tennis, and the responsibilities that players have. Her presentation included contributions from top players including Novak Djokovic, Tommy Robredo and Robin Haase, who were keen to pass on their best media tips and advice to the young players. The athletes had the chance to put some of their new-found knowledge into practice in the following days. As a special event to celebrate the Tour’s 25th anniversary, the players were joined by HEAD’s Gameraiser campaign star Stefan Bojic to compete for the title of European Junior Championships Trickshot Champion and to record some special online promo features. Mr. Jobson commented, “It’s always fun to carry out these workshops as an introduction to the ITF Junior Tennis School and as part of our commitment to providing positive and formative experiences on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour. We’d like to thank the audience for being so attentive and players and coaches alike for the very positive feedback we received following the event.” 16 & Under Anna Slovakova and Patrik Rikl secured two gold medals for the Czech Republic on the final day of the European 16 & Under Championships in Moscow. From top: Stefan Bojic entertains the players with trickshots in Pilsen, Anna Slovakova (CZE) celebrates her win in Moscow, Boys’ 16 & Under champion Patrik Rikl on the stretch.
Both players beat Russian opponents to claim the biggest titles of their junior careers so far. Making her first appearance on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour this season, Slovakova capped a memorable week by withstanding a second set fightback from Elena Rybakina. The unseeded Czech started in the strongest possible fashion, winning the first six games, before the second seed found her rhythm. Rybakina broke twice in the second set to level the match but her opponent proved to be the less nervy in the final set, eventually serving out for a 6-0 2-6 6-3 win.

European Junior Championships Championships medal overall, having been runnerup in the doubles event in Moscow last year. He becomes the first Czech boy to win the title since David Skoch in 1992, while Slovakova is the first Czech girl to claim gold since Petra Cetkovska in 2001. Both Russian singles finalists were appearing on the podium for the second time that weekend. Rybakina’s singles silver will complement the doubles she won on Saturday alongside Olesya Pervushina with a 7-6(0) 6-3 victory over Germany’s Shaline-Doreen Pipa & Carmen Shultheiss. The boys’ doubles gold went to Poland’s Konrad Fryze & Kacper Zuk, who beat Dubrivnyy and partner Mikail Sokolovskiy 6-3 4-6 [10-6]. 18 & Under Swede Mikael Ymer and Hungarian Anna Bondar are the new European 18 & Under Champions after both players ended successful weeks by winning the titles. When Bernabe Zapata Miralles' last forehand landed in the net, Mikael Ymer seemed incredulous to have clinched the title. Yet, the 16-year-old Swede had been in the driving seat for most of the match,

not giving the Spaniard - who had lost an enormous amount of energy during the week - any time to breathe. Ymer is the first Swede to win the gold medal in the 18 & Under boys’ category since Robin Soderling back in 2001. For the highly gifted junior Wimbledon runner-up, it was the second European title in three years, having also won the 14 & Under trophy in 2012 in Plzen. In between, he also added a silver medal to his tally at last year’s 16 & Under event in Moscow. The Swiss supporters had been hoping for a win for their favourite in the girls singles. Jil Teichmann came out of the blocks well versus Hungarian Anna Bondar and took the first set quickly 6-2. However, from then on the Swiss lefthander could not keep up the pace while her unseeded opponent became more and more aggressive and steady. Bondar, who already had eliminated Wimbledon finalist Anna Blinkova and Miriam Kolodziejova, put in a dominant performance in the end, taking the remaining two sets 6-3 6-1. “She was the better player and deserved the win”, a sporting Teichmann admitted. For Hungary, it was the third title in this category, following wins for Petra Mandula (1996) and Agnes Szavay (2005).

ITF/Tennis Europe 14 & Under Touring Team The European 14 & Under ITF/Tennis Europe team completed a successful four-week tour of Germany and Belgium during July and August. In the first tournament in Düren, Germany, team player Mariam Dalakishvili of Georgia progressed to the quarterfinals of the girls’ singles where she went down 6-2 6-1 to the talented wild card player Naho Sato, of Japan. The second week of the tour saw her three teammates – Kamilla Bartone of Latvia, Vitalia Stamat of Moldova and Dalakishvili’s compatriot Ana Shanidze – all reach the quarterfinals in Hasselt, Belgium where they bowed out to the three top seeds. Bartone and Stamat did not leave empty handed though as they teamed up to win the girls’ doubles trophy, defeating the Czech pairing of Kristyna Lavickova and Alexandra Silna 7-6(7) 6-3 in the finals. On the boys’ side, Vanja Dobrnjac of Bosnia & Herzegovina reached the quarterfinals of the boys’ singles in Hasselt where he succumbed 6-1 6-3 to the eventual winner Andrea Fiorentini of Italy. Moldova’s Ilya Snitari was a finalist in the boys’ doubles alongside Luciano Tacchi of Argentina, but the sixth seeds Mirgiiaz Mirdzhaliev of Kyrgyzstan & Arthur Craig Pantino of the Philippines proved just too strong in the key moments, and they went down 7-6(2) 7-6(3).

The third week on tour saw the team return to Germany to participate in the Munich Junior Open in Eching where the four girls came up against each other in the doubles’ finals. Bartone & Stamat earned their second doubles’ title when they triumphed over Dalakishvili & Shanidze in a tight 3-6 6-3 [10-4] final match. Shanidze had also reached the girls’ singles semifinals before losing to Serbian Andjela Skrobonja 6-3 2-6 6-2. Snitari reached the quarterfinals of the boys’ singles after defeating teammate Dobrnjac 6-3 6-2 in the previous round. The tour finished with the prestigious Jugend Cup in Renningen/Rutesheim where Vitalia Stamat earned her first singles’ trophy, beating top seed Carmen Manu, of Romania 64 62 in the finals. The best boys’ performance was displayed once again by Snitari, who went down to number 3 seed Otto Virtanen, of Finland 64 63 in the boys’ singles semifinals. After four very competitive tournaments, team coaches Goran Shevchenko and Olga Khaniukova concluded that it has been a very successful summer for this year’s team. Players competed in some of the best European events in this age category and showed great attitude, competitive spirit and work ethic. The tour provided a great opportunity for all the players who will be able to use this experience for their future development.

European Senior Club Championships The European Senior Club Championships recently returned to La Manga Club in Spain, where all of the competition’s age categories competed together at the same venue for a fourth successive year. The two-week tournament took place from 13-18 and 20-26 September and saw a total of 248 players in action, representing 64 teams. Week 1 saw the more senior men’s and women’s age categories in action at the award-winning resort, while the younger age groups took to the courts the following week. New champions were crowned in all but one of the ten competitions, with the dominant Women’s 65 team from Lagardère Paris Racing continuing their hot streak at the event, winning both their singles matches to secure a final win over Britain’s 45 Club. The team, which boasts two Top 10 players in the form of Nicole Hesse Cazaux and Gail Benedetti, has now won European titles for each of the last eight years. St. George’s Hill of Great Britain scored a notable double victory, with wins in the Men’s 55 and Women’s 50 categories. Both teams were made to work for their triumphs, with the men coming from behind to beat Augusta of Italy 3-2 in the deciding doubles rubber, while the women’s team secured their title in a champions’ tie-break win over RCTBarcelona 1899 of Spain.
In their third consecutive appearance in the Top 2, TC Fürstenzell of Germany reclaimed the Men’s 50 title by outperforming closest rivals Leusderpark (NED) in the round-robin event. SP TC Sergiev Posad claimed a first European Senior Club Championship title for Russia by winning the Men’s 60 event, while Wolfsberg Pforzheim won a second title of the year for Germany in the Men’s 65. There was a surprise winner of the most senior category; the Men’s 70, as Austria’s TC Pasching ended the three-year reign (plus five years previously in the 65s category) of TC Palermo (ITA). The opening rubber saw a match between two of the world’s Top 10 players, as Hans-Dietrich Heissl beat Peter Pokorny for the loss of just one game to give the Austrian club an early lead, with victory eventually secured when Heissl & Klaus Kreuzhuber beat Pokorny & Giancarlo Milesi 7-6(5) 2-6 12-10 in a champions’ tie-break. The Women’s 40 event saw a Spanish team take home the silverware for a third consecutive year, as Barcelona’s RC Polo followed in the footsteps of neighbours RCT Barcelona-1899 and Madrid’s Chamartin. West Hants TC beat the RCT Barcelona1899 3-0 in the final of the Women’s 60 event to secure a second title of the event for British women. Full draws, results and a photo gallery from the competition can be found here.
The second edition of the Men’s 35 category saw a first ever European title for a Turkish club, as Yesilyurt Spor Kulubu (TUR) beat out ‘home’ team Murcia Club Tenis (ESP) to take the round-robin competition. The Men’s 45 saw Vichy of France shut out Villa D’Adda (ITA) 3-0 to claim the gold medals.

Tennis CoachEd Corner In July 2015, Tennis Europe launched a brand new website, which provides a range of innovative new services. TennisCoachEd.com has four main zones, each providing a unique and specific service. The core of the site and main feature of the ‘Federation Zone’ is a pioneering comparison tool providing in-depth information about the many European Coach Education systems. Coaches and national associations can use the tool to find out how their qualifications compare to those offered in other countries, while employers looking to hire coaches from abroad will have a unique resource to assist the task. Taking the employment theme a step further, Tennis Europe has teamed up with leading tennis recruitment specialists OrangeCoach to present the ‘Jobs & Recruitment Zone’, offering access to the career platform which connects coaches and tennis employers such as managers, tennis parents, resorts, academies and clubs from all around the world. The ‘Conference Zone’ provides details of all further education and training opportunities for coaches held across Tennis Europe’s 49 member nations,
whilst the final ‘Academy Zone’ (coming soon) will be a complete one-stop directory for information on all European tennis academies and schools; an essential tool for players, parents and federations alike.

Tennis Europe Junior Tour Rankings - Overall Tennis Europe’s junior ranking system is devised to give a unified overall list that shows the relative strengths of all players, regardless of where they achieved their results or picked up points. A player’s overall total includes points from Tennis Europe Junior Tour 16 and 14 & Under events, plus points earned by players in these age categories who participate in ITF Junior Circuit and professional tournaments, all of which are weighted accor-
ding to their relative strengths. The 14 & Under ranking is still available separately (see next page), as well as being integrated to these overall rankings. For more information on the rankings system, check out the Tennis Europe Junior Tour Rules and Regulations at www.TennisEurope.org. The ‘Race to the Masters’ rankings are also available separately, and include points earned exclusively at Tennis Europe Junior Tour events. Rankings below are as of October 20th 2015.

Tennis Europe Junior Tour Rankings - 14 & Under With so many major events taking place since our last issue, it’s no surprise that we have some major moves in the 14 & Under rankings. Russian players dominate the girls’ list, accounting for 6 of the Top 10, but two impressive moves come from Ukrainians Viktoriya Petrenko and Marta Kostyuk. Both players won big events towards the end of the summer, with Petrenko claiming the Category 1 16 & Under crown in Warsaw, and Kostyuk
taking the title at the Category 1 14 & under tournament in Hasselt. Timofey Skatov holds on to the top spot to ensure a Russian sweep at #1 (two Czechs hold the 16 & Under top spots), having won three Category 1 titles this season, as well as the Winter Cups and a silver medal in doubles at the European Championships. Full ranking lists can be found at www.TennisEurope.org. Rankings below are as October 20th 2015.
