Fort Canning seems huge in scale compared to the surroundings, and to be able to go up fort canning, there is only a 3 storey flight of stairs that leads up to the walkway of it, and then another steep slope. To create a new journey for users to experience as they go up the hill, such that they are unaware of going up by healing and distorting their views. To ease their access of fort canning with the use of distortion. To elevate the journey of fort canning with the usage of depth distortion. Such that users at Clarke quay will be more willing to experience fort canning. The experience of Stills, is to all allow users to take a break from the surrounding city and take a view of nature diierently. With the usage of water as a medium that comes between sight and relaxation. While going through this journey, users will eventually find themselves up the hill unknowingly. Through the distraction and framing of distortion of views within the building. Rather than the conventional way of walking up 3 flights of stairs straight without much experience and only fatigue.

Incorporating the eeects found through the site analysis into the design. Viewing from Clarke Quay, the building seems to be shifted and staggered apart from each other. This stacking is done to reduce the visual impact on site such that it does not look too huge and imposing with the stepping down eeect.

Most people who enter fort canning will enter through these two paths, from Fort Canning MRT and the nearest bus stop to site. The eeect I was wanted to achieve is that the entrance and the closest portion of the building is seen in a at perspective such that users will not know the depth of the building. This will draw users into the building with curiousity.

The above images are the Serial Vision of the building. The journey that one experiences within. This building is a public access building such that anyone is able to enter and that you do not necessarily have to get wet inside as there is a dry path along with every space.

EXISTING CIRCULATION LINES FROM HUMAN EXPERIENCE AND IN RESPECT TO THE INDIAN HERITAGE CENTRE

BUILDING PLANES ARE SETBACK WITH RESPECT TO THE EXISTING FIVE FOOT WAY WHICH INCREASES CIRCULATION ON THE SITE. A SHOPHOUSE SIZE GAP IS PLACED AS A TRANSITION OF SPACE.

A PUBLIC PLAZA IS CREATED TO HAVE A VISUAL CONNECTION BETWEEN ALL THE URBAN SPORTS ACTIVITIES

FACADE TREATMENT WITH INDIAN MOTIF PATTERN. GREENERY IS PLACED ON THE SITE AND TREES ARE RETAINED BY HAVING OPENINGS ON THE ROOF.
