THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE Agriculture, Food and Horculture are key sectors throughout Southeast Asia, accounng for a substanal share of the region’s GDP and employing an important part of the workforce. With the increasing populaons, climate change, rising level of urbanisaon and workforce challenges due to rural depopulaon in most of the ASEAN countries, there is an urgent need for innovave soluons for the agriculture sector. Currently, the agriculture sector is undergoing digital transformaon with huge potenal to producers and the consumers. Introducon of digital agriculture, industrialisaon and mechanisaon of producon processes, connecvity and data management are now set to unleash the next revoluon in the history of agriculture and farming. Ulising smart IT, Drones, Machine Learning and other advanced technologies and crucially networking these assets enables more efficient use of resources, results in higher yield and producon, increase efficiency and producvity and answers to the new environment.
The hosng of the inaugural Agriculture 4.0 Conference and Exhibion 2020 (Agri 4.0) is set to provide an interacve plaorm to discuss the opportunies offered by disrupve digital technologies to increase producvity, and access to services and markets in the agricultural sector. This will be an unparalleled meeng place for decision-makers, plantaon and farms managers, digital leaders, and other business professionals to share knowledge and experience in opmising the agricultural farming process in the age of technology. The conference represents a unique opportunity for learning, exchanging opinions, and expanding one’s network enabled by live presentaons followed by dynamic networking sessions – providing the aendees with valuable insights from specialists in the sphere of agriculture technologies.

DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN AGRICULTURE What is SMART FARMING
Six Ways Mobile Agriculture Apps Let Farmers Work Smarter Weather
Access hyper-local weather forecasts to know whem it will start and stop raining in your exact locaon
Application Increase efficiency by properly calibrang equipment and mixing chemicals and ferlizers for applicaon
Planting/ Harvesting
Track lling, planng and harvest mes to opmize crop growth and yield
Irrigation
Take the guesswork out of irrigaon for specific crops based on variables such as weather and plant growing stage
Accounting
Stay on top of operaonal finances by managing accounts, handling payroll, and tracking expenses and profits
Machinery
Keep track of maintenance such as dates for oils and air filter changes, purchase dates and serial numbers
3
Drones for Agriculture Cost Saving Quick data acquision and reduced man power means saving on equipment and labour costs
Faster Turnaround Survey hundreds of hectares of land within a single flight
Automated Fully automated data allows farm maps to be generated immediately aer the survey
Greater Access Using a fixed wing drone means access to unsafe/unreachable areas of land
Higher Density Reading Drones have a higher data density of higher level of detail compared to ground survey
DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN AGRICULTURE Robots – The Future of Farming With the planet’s robot populaon growing every year, it’s only a maer of me unl the machines take over food producon. Here we look at how, by 2050, robots might revoluonise food producon.

Robots are already seen on sone farms, but most models and types are sll in the ‘early-adopter’phase. If these prototypes and early models become more sophiscated and adopon increase, farming could witness a roboc revoluon.
