Simon Meyer - MG Midget Simon has been racing Group S since Mid-2014 where he started in Greg Prunster's Mustard coloured Mk 3 Sprite affectionately known as Tigger due to it's Black and mustard/ orange colouring. The car was then developed over the following 5 years until it got to the point where it was giving a lot of the higher horsepower cars a run for their money. In 2019 the car was purchased from Greg Prunster and then reborn into the Silver car you see today which still keeps the Black and orange stipes as homage to its history and is now affectionally known as Tigger 2.0! Tigger 2.0 is now a much more nimble car with Bob Rowntree preparing her to perfection, extracting more speed with some more fine tuning of the suspension and engine. Simon is now claiming a few lap records that his brother (Damien Meyer) once held. Simon was crowned the 2020/2021 (spread over 2 years as both years were Covid affected) winner of the Group S Presidents Cup which combines scores from all Group S categories and awards the prize to the overall Group S winner. This title also gives Simon the honour of running number 1 for the 2022 season. Simon also won the BMC challenge – Russel/Rowntree Trophy in 2019 at Eastern Creek. In the 2020/2021 racing season Simon also walked away with the Win in Group Sba – Catalina Cup & Goldfields Cup. Simon started racing Group S a number of years after his brother Damien Meyer (Car 13) and the 2 regularly annoy the faster HP cars, preferring the tighter twisty tracks but still giving them a run for their money at Horse Power tracks like Phillip Island. Both Simon and Damien both grew up racing Karts and both have multiple State and National championships under their belts.
