Keith A. McCary Sr. grew up as an only child in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio where he was constantly encourage and urged by his parents to study and at the very least, do something that circumstances prohibited them from doing, that was to finish high school. He remembers his late dad’s words as if they were spoken just yesterday, “My only wish, is that you won’t have to labor like I do to make a living, learn to use your head instead of your hands!” Keith would use his mind, and his voice to become a great speaker, which in turn would create opportunities for him to be called on quite frequently to give talks at the local Kingdom Hall. Even way back then as a preteen struggling with puberty and the voices coming from the elders in the congregation sternly admonishing him about his behavior in Jehovah’s house, he would experience the conflict of the war that was being fought in his head and body. Because, after so elegantly delivering the talks at the hall, he would sneak into his play brother Ellery’s basement, to listen to, and then memorize Ellery’s father’s party albums made popular by a few of the classic comedians of the 60’s and 70’s, Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, George Carlin, Moms Mabley, Skillet & Leroy, Pigmeat Markham and Rudy Ray Moore just to name a few. He was forced to step into adulthood at an early age having impregnated a sweetheart from the Kingdom Hall across town. ‘A.C.’ and ‘Omi’, as his parents were called by most friends and relatives, didn’t play that, and a somewhat different version of a ‘shotgun wedding’ was planned. He would be told by his father…“Son, We gonna all put on our best suits on Saturday, and your mama will be crying while we sitting around listening to the preacher speaking on your behalf. Now whether she be crying tears of joy or not, all depends on whether you say I do or I don’t!” Needless to say, a marriage was performed at the City Hall in Butler, Pennsylvania, because at age seventeen he could not legally get married in the State of Ohio back in 1973, even with his parent’s consent. In an attempt to offer his wife and sons a taste of the ‘good life’, he would spend the next decade working in several different trades, Trucking, Aerospace, both Consumer and Commercial Sales.This led him back and forth several times between the east and west coast, from Cleveland, OH to Tacoma, Washington. During that time period he would embark on a variety of entertainment entities including a mobile Disk Jockey service called ‘Boss Sounds Incorporated’ along with a childhood friend Bernard ( Barney ) Clark, playing for cabaret parties and weddings. Even then he stood out from the rest, because with their services folks didn’t just get recorded music, they got a whole show, as Barney and Mr. McCary, or ‘DJ Sweetmeat’ as he was known back then, would sing, dance, and clown, doing anything they could to bring the house down. This in addition to being invited as a special guest to popular house parties given by associates, friends, and local celebrities to recite the memorized jokes and routines from the days sneaking into Mr. Griggs basement would lead to open mic performances, and guest appearances at the local Cleveland Comedy Club located downtown, and the Hilarities Comedy Club located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where he developed his stage persona as a hilarious stand-up comedian.

This would eventually lead him to the historic Karamu House Theatre, where under the name of Special ‘K’ McCray, he would make his professional theatrical debut as ‘Deacon Crow for Day’ in their 1984 stage production of Langston Hughes’ “Tambourines to Glory”! He was smitten by the acting bug and would go on to play in other community and church plays before earning a role in “The Creators” under Don Chiodo’s Manhattan Repertory Theatre. He would tour for two years with David Peyton’s “A Good Man is Hard to Find” and then reprise the role of ‘Stan’ in the sequel “Ain’t No Woman Like the One I Got”. Keith’s crowning moment would be when he made history at the historic Martin Theater in Panama City, Florida where he would perform infront of (18 ) sold out audiences as ‘Walter Lee’, a role made famous by Sidney Poitier in the Lorraine Hansberry classic “A Raisin in the Sun” in 1998. In between the theatrical gigs, he would continue to tour the country as a stand- up comedian working all the mainstream rooms, and also the cruise ships, resorts and casinos. It was while working as a regular in a Lakeland, Florida Comedy Club that he would be discovered for his first motion picture, a small role as ‘Big Money Bunny’ in Orion Pictures ‘Chinamoon’ starring Ed Harris, Madeline Stowe, and Benicio Del Toro in his starring role debut. That role would lead to the role of ‘Willie Red’ in MGM’s ‘Rush’ with Jason Patric, Sam Elliott,Jennifer Jason-Leigh, and Greg Allman, which in turn, led to the role that endeared him as “America’s Favorite Relative”, ‘Cousin Pete’ in John Singleton’s ‘Poetic Justice’ from Columbia Pictures that starred Janet Jackson, Joe Torry, Regina King, as well as, the late Tupac Shakur and Maya Angelou, Mr. McCary returned to the motion picture screen as ‘Milton Madaris’ in the Best Selling New York Time’s Author Brenda Jackson’s second feature film “Truly Everlasting” that premiered Nov. 5th, 2011. He was cast in the role of ‘Detective Sammy Lee’ in ‘Can I Get A Witness!’ the new play by Super Woman Production’s KyLynn Coleman, the Creator, Writer, Producer, and Star of ‘Let the Church Say Amen!’ The production made its world premiere February 14th - 24th, 2013 at the Tri-C Metro Campus in Cleveland, Ohio, before embarking on a 24 date southeast USA tour to cities that included Atlanta, Mobile, Birmingham, Montgomery, Houston, Knoxville, TN. Current 20160-02017 project plans include, producing a new public service CD /DVD for his hard hitting poem, ‘Wake Up America, My Name Is Cocaine!’, that will include new music and vocals from several recording artists. Other projects under the Non-Profit wing of his newly developed Florida based Cuz’n Pete and Company Entertainment & Enterprises company slated for the spring and summer of 2016 include, New Kingdom Entertainment Ministries produced performances of his gospel comedy and music stage showcases called ‘A Time to Laugh’ and ‘The Good Times in Gospel Comedy Revival’, along with a ‘Stop The Violence Unity Festival’! He is also, currently in pre-production for the new TV sitcom he created, written and, will star in called ‘KinFolks’, and the subsequent ‘KinFolks All-Star Comedy Showcase Tour’. And, if that’s not enough, he is also writing a new one man stage show to be called ‘Which Way Is Up?’, that will highlight his ups and downs in a career that now spans over 25 years in the industry, and is collaborating with Playwright Ms. Mia Beeks on an expanded, full stage production of the Christmas Season Stage Play ‘The Great Giver of Gifts’. A scaled down version premiered in December, 2014 as part of his home Church, The Sanctuary @ Mount Calvary’s Drama & Fine Arts Ministry’s holiday production.

Prayer For Our Children Freedom â&#x20AC;˘

I Cast out all brujeria witchcraft, sorcery, demonic forces, phantom, anarchy, doom, destruction, demonic relics, and unscriptural prayers in the name of Jesus. All yokes, oxen, shackle, cord, habits, addiction, chains, and cycles are destroyed now in the name of Jesus. I cast imprisonment, suicide, murder, depression, fighting, gossip, anger, rejection, abandonment, disappointments, neglect, fatherless, motherless, hurt, pain, abuse of all kinds and format, rage, wrath, tyranny, lusts of the mind, and flesh in the name of Jesus. I send it all to the dry places in the name of Jesus. No weapon form against our children shall prosper in the name of Jesus.

The Lord alone is our children refuge, and place of safety in him we trust in the name of Jesus. I plead the blood of Jesus over our children from the crown of their heads, to the soul of their feet. I Command, Decree, and Prophesy over our youth and children to be ignited for revival in their spirits in the name of Jesus. Lord, come to their rooms on tonight, and call them by name like you did the Prophet Samuel. Give them the revelations, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding like you did with the Prophet Daniel. Arise up leaders just like you did with King Josiah. Allow them to be warriors and conquerors in the spirit just like King David. Allow them to worship you in spirit and truth. Allow them to inherit the land just like Joshua, and Caleb. I Command every Angelic Angel to watch over our children, and keep them as the apple of your eye Oh God. We know you are visiting some of them in their sleep now, like you did King Solomon. Not one word will fall to the ground, and we shall suddenly see a quick change in our children in Jesus name. “Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:8 The young husband was desperate. His wife had abandoned him and their two children weeks before. Though she still called occasionally, he had no idea where she was. On the phone, he pleaded with her to come home and told her how much he and the children loved her, yet she continually rebuffed him. Was it time to give up and move on? No. The husband used his meager savings to hire a detective, who found his wife living in a third‐rate hotel across the country. The husband borrowed money for a plane ticket. Soon he was on her doorstep saying, “We love you so much. Won’t you come home?” She fell apart in his arms, and they went home together. Weeks later he asked why she hadn’t come when he expressed his love repeatedly on the phone. “Because,” she answered, “those were only words before. But then you came.” True love is more than words. It may involve flying across the country, even when it costs you your last nickel, to bring your spouse home. Just between us… How have I shown you my love this week? If “actions speak louder than words,” are my deeds shouting or whispering my love for you? What can I do this week to show my love for you? How, specifically, did Jesus show us His love? Dear Lord Jesus, we want both our words and our actions to say “love” in personal, powerful, and positive ways. Show us new ways to “honor one another above ourselves.” Amen.

Most evil and hurtful attitudes in church and workplace is caused by gossip

Eliminating Assumption from your mind What are assumptions? How do assumptions disrupt us from working together in unity with other? How can we eliminate assumptions? Assumptions is something we make without having all of the info. Such as, Apostle John was supposed to work with Prophetess Monique. Apostle John shows up late and not prepared for us to brainstorm on how to solve the issue at hand. Prophetess Monique begins to think that Apostle John is wasting her time, is not taking his assignment in God seriously and that he needs to get him together. Unbeknownst to Prophetess Monique, Apostle John is dealing with a lot. His wife is out of town, he has to take care of his kids, something his wife normally does and he had to meet with the Pastor’s of the city to address issues with our youth. Because Prophetess Monique jumped to conclusions and assumptions, it has caused friction. Prophetess Monique is the one who needs to check herself. Assumption’s is also our individual frame of references of how we see the church, our fellow mankind and the world as a whole. It is how you see things looking inside of say glasses for a reference. How you see out of your glasses will shape your frame of reference. According to Ecclesiastes 10:13, “Fools base their thoughts on foolish assumptions, so their conclusions will be wicked madness;” (NLT). Since Prophetess Monique based her thoughts about Apostle John on foolish assumptions, that is why her conclusions brought forth wickedness and madness.

In order to eliminate assumptions, we really have to dig deep into our souls and ask God to search us and to remove anything unlike God as found in Psalms 139:23-24. When we ask God to search us and to remove anything unlike him, we are being responsible for eliminating assumptions in our lives. Romans 8:13 stated, “For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live” (NIV). We have to die to our flesh daily in order to be able to live by the Spirit and to live. If we do not die daily to our self, we will allow sin to reside in our life. The Holy Spirit cannot reside within someone who has sin in their life. In closing, you have the Power from God to eliminate assumptions in one’s life. You have to make the choice to do it, to walk in it and to know that you will not participate in anything that would cause one to make assumptions. It will take time, but do not procrastinate with this, because if you do you might run out of time. AMEN.

Many have regarded indices of success to include: owning a good car, living in a fine mansion, wearing a good pair of shoes, silk ties, silk shirts, designer suits; having expensive furniture; or possessing a large church. Such notions have often caused many people to develop inferiority complexes about their own modest acquisitions. Unfortunately, some even go further and consider their lives as total failures, while others are completely mesmerized by the opulence and magnificence of the attainments of their colleagues. Fortunately, by the standards of the Almighty God, SUCCESS is not measured by one’s possessions. Success is achieving God-given goals, plans, purposes, and vision. No one can say that Mother Theresa, that dear nun who chose to live in poverty in India to provide a shelter and care for the poor, was not successful. At birth, God gives everyone a plan, a blueprint and a purpose. Your life should therefore be judged as successful when at the end of it, you are able to look back and see that these divine goals and purposes have been accomplished.

Before the birth of Jeremiah, God declared: “The the Word of the Lord came unto me, saying, before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou cometh forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and ordained thee as a prophet unto the nations” (Jeremiah 1:4-5) May it be known to you as you are reading this article, that it is very important to discover and know your God-given vision, plan and purpose and to aim at achieving it. Many people go through striving and struggling to acquire all the cars, buildings, wealth, and possessions they can. At the end of it all, they find out to their uttermost shock and dismay that their acquisitions have been in vain. Their lives are totally devoid of the sense of fulfillment and success that normally comes to those who achieve their God-given goals. Those who achieve their life purpose can always boldly declare with the Apostle Paul: “I fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord… shall give me at that day… (2Timothy 4:7-8) When Jesus Christ died a young man of 33 years, at an age that most people would term tender, He loudly proclaimed on the cross at Calvary, “It is finished” (John 19:30). He was extremely bold about this proclamation because He knew He had completed His God-given assignment. He had totally achieved the purpose for His birth and life. He died a totally fulfilled man. Therefore, to succeed in life, you need to catch a vision. Visions are born in prayer and meditation on the Word of God. In catching a vision, there are few simple things you can do, and this chapter will endeavor to help you. Our upcoming events for the month of July, and goals are to assist teenage mothers, single parents and parents, with gift cards for their children summer clothing. Give gift cards for their household needs, hygiene products, and food no family should go to bed hungry. Give working single parent’s gas cards, to go back and forward to work. We are assisting many single parents with their utility bills-or-towards their rent. In addition, we want to service at least 30-or more families in our community, who are single parents, married parents, teenage mothers, cancer patients, and elderly. In addition, we want to give away 30-50 individuals teddy bears, cards, and a single rose, who are cancer patients, in nursing homes, and individuals in the hospital. Therefore, these families can feel loved, supported, and appreciated. Our final goal for the month is to assist a few single parents, who are an entrepreneur with a tablet. This will allow them to complete, and accomplish every task set before them, for their business, and education to be successful. I Am A Ruby Ministries, is a 501c3 Non-profit organization.
