BASKETBALL Temple pulls off the upset again No. 5 ranked Duke. With Temple Owl’s stars Khalif Wyatt scoring 22 points and Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson scoring 17, Temple won 78-73. Temple came up with big rebounds, big stops and tough man-to-man defense to pull off their win. Judging by his first three games of the season, Bynum seems determined to prove to every basketball fan in Los Angeles that this team already has a star center. With healthy knees and plenty of energy after a four-game season-opening suspension, Bynum gave yet another dominant low-post performance. He barely missed his career-high of 23 rebounds in his second career 20-rebound game,

playing a team-high 38 minutes. Marcus Denmon put up 20 points for the tigers, they were 57% at their three point shot, they made 12 of their 21 shots from outside the three point line. "Big 12 play got here really fast, it seems like those 13 games flew by," Denmon said. "We understand this is where teams are made, in conference play. None of those wins before conference matter." Ricky Rubio and the Timberwolves forced the Washington Wizards in to their 8th straight loss. The Wolves were playing without beasley and still managed to score 93 points in the game. Love lead with 20 points and 16 rebounds and ricky rubio had 13 points and 13 assists. The Miami Heat beat the Atlanta Hawks in triple overtime. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade sat out with injuries. LeBron is out with a turned ankle an Wade is out with a sore left foot. Neither are very serious but enough to keep them out for a few games, Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers had to step up their game in order to pull off the win and they did. Bosh had 33 points and Chalmers had 29. Dirk Nowitzki played his 1000th game in the NBA! He has been in the NBA since the 1998 draft, he was drafted ninth overall. The Mavericks played the Suns at Dallas, Dirk was the leading scorer with 20 points with Jason Terry trailing behind with 18 in the game. The new member of the Mavs, Lamar Odom, scored 15 points and got 5 rebounds. The Mavs coach says, “He had good stats, but there are areas where he needs to improve.” The game was close until the third quarter when the Mavs went on a 13-4 point run. The Suns won their 24 straight games against the bucks almost tying the record of 27 in a row (Spurs beat warriors 27 times straight). The Suns forced the bucks into their fifth straight loss as well. Marcin Gortat scored 18 points in the game with Steve Nash trailing behind with 17. He has been playing through the pain for a while now but it has gotten to be too much and must take injections in order to preform at his normal intensity. Kobe has shown he will do anything to get into the game, for example last season he played after having his knee drained several times. Kobe is having a career low in shooting percentage this year and has finally learned to feed the ball to the post and get his shots off after.

No. 15 Hoosiers win a big game against Loins. Indiana University basketball program has been coming out strong this season in all categories across the boards. They have already beat the No.1 and No. 2 ranked teams this season and are creeping their way up the rankings. Indiana’s Jordan Hull was the leader this game scoring 28 points and four assists. Matt Roth was close behind Jordan Hull with 22 points and one assist.With Indiana beating Penn State 88-82, Indiana showed they can take on any team.
