Student Voice
At The Henley College we listen to our students and encourage them to share their views, involving them in focus groups to discuss how to improve the student experience and responding to their feedback.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM
Membership of this group enables second year students to participate more widely in college life and gain a range of skills that they can take forwards on leaving the College. There are opportunities to engage with college management, raise any student concerns or issues, support and help organise events and join in a diverse range of activities as both College ambassadors and student representatives.
STUDENT GROUPS
There are a range of other student led groups at the College including LGBTQ and Christian Union. You can also become a Tutor Group Representative or Subject Ambassador.
STUDENTS’ UNION
The Henley College is a member of the National Union of Students (NUS) and has its own executive committee, elected by the student body. The President and Vice President are invited to sit on the Corporation Board as student governors. Membership of the NUS has a huge range of benefits for students via their Totum card, that enables multiple discounts, offers and coupons.
Lucy
Student Profile
Lucy is studying A Levels in Business, PE, and Psychology, and is the President of The Henley College Students' Union. “The Henley College is the perfect place to continue your studies whilst being surrounded by the lovely town and friendly people. I truly believe the College has created a really safe space for students, supporting them, and providing them with plenty of opportunities. As President of the Students’ Union, my role is to represent the student voice in several different ways; attending Governor’s meetings, running our weekly Students’ Union meetings and understanding how my fellow SU members, and college students, feel. Here at Henley, your voice can really make a difference. The Student’s Union has helped with the running of many events, such as our Freshers’ Fest, farewell parties for our Year 2 leavers, and charity fundraisers. Joining the Students’ Union has helped me to improve fundamental skills such as leadership, communication, and not being afraid to put my opinion out there.” Lucy-May came to The Henley College from Cressex Community School
