PREFACE The International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) was born in 2004 when Japan celebrated the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII). On this occasion, Japan decided to organise the International Forum for Invention Promotion (IFIP) and the Invention Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) to promote invention and innovation to a wider public. The IEYI 2004 in Tokyo, Japan, gathered young inventors, aged 6-19, from many countries to present their inventions. Since then, several countries have taken turns to host the IEYI and the IFIP. The second IEYI was organised in Malaysia in 2005 by the Malaysia Innovation and Design Society. In 2006, the Confederation of Indian Industry hosted the exhibition. The following year, IEYI was held in Indonesia, arranged by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences. The fifth IEYI took place in Taipei, Taiwan, in 2008, jointly organised by the Taiwan Creativity Development Association and the National Taiwan Normal University. Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and the Nigeria Association of Inventors hosted the sixth IEYI in 2009, in Abuja, Nigeria. The seventh IEYI, in 2010, was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, organised by the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations. Thailand was scheduled to host the eighth IEYI in 2011, but the flooding that paralysed the country forced a postponement. Now, in 2012, Thailand is proud to welcome the young inventors from eight other countries to Bangkok for the competition. The IEYI 2012 aims to provide an opportunity for young inventors to exhibit their inventions, encouraging students to recognise the importance of creativity. We are sure that IEYI 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand, will demonstrate all participating countries’ commitment to developing young inventors.

MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION Like parents all around the world, Thai parents hope for and work towards a future where their children will enjoy a better life than they themselves have had, so their children can follow their dreams to a prosperous future. I dream of a Thailand of equality and opportunities. A Thai society where the poor, who are now the majority in the country, can follow their dreams and use their intelligence and abilities to make a living in good, honest jobs. A Thailand where everyone has fair access to resources, land, capital, technology, and, most importantly, education. A land of equitable, competitive markets free from influence and monopoly. I would like to see a Thailand where the government cares for citizens living with difficulties, particularly the poor and the disabled, through an excellent health care system, so everyone can have dignity and equal opportunities. I would like to see a legal system that contributes to a society based on justice and mutual respect and care. Not a system where the law is a weapon used to attack one’s opponents. I would like to see Thailand governed with real democracy. The country must escape from the trap of government based on patronage, influence, and corruption manipulated by self-serving opportunists. Every Thai citizen, poor and well-off, has equal rights and freedom to access information. The people must use this to become informed about the matters that affect their lives and take part in expressing their views on social, economic, and political development. Narrow thinking and forcing people into old roles must be eliminated if Thailand is to develop to achieve prosperity with equity. Education will be a key factor in turning all these dreams into reality. Education can strengthen and energize people to escape poverty. The Ministry of Education aims to provide student-centered education to everyone through the creation of equitable educational opportunities throughout the country. Our mission is to provide equitable access to education for everyone—including the disabled and the disadvantaged—from early childhood through Year 6 of secondary education, and onward into vocational and higher education. This will involve public and private sector educators in urban and rural areas, and through outreach programs. In this way, students will be helped to develop into modern citizens of the world with the diverse skills needed to prosper in a knowledge-based society and compete in global markets. I am honored that Thailand is hosting the 8th International Exhibition for Young Inventors this year. This event is important because it encourages students to be inventors, inspired by science and technology to create innovations meant to protect the world, solve mankind’s problems, and foster sustainability. Therefore, I am pleased that the theme of the IEYI Thailand 2012 is Future Inventors, Future World, and that the five invention categories are Local Sustainability, Climate Change: Preparedness & Mitigation, Green Products, Technology from Nature, and Recreational and Educational Inventions, because such focus encourages students to use their imaginations to create things that help protect their societies and the world. This event will be an opportunity for students from many countries to exhibit their work on the international stage and exchange ideas, which in turn should broaden their thinking and encourage further innovation. My invention “Toothpaste Extruder� can squeeze out the toothpaste easily. It is a simple design and suitable for mass production as shown in the pictures. Operations 1. Turn the wing nut to adjust the size of the slot. 2. Adjust the size of the slot to an appropriate width for the toothpaste. 3. Place the tube of the toothpaste inside the slot. 4. Press the tube of the toothpaste down inside the slot gently to squeeze out the last bit of toothpaste easily.

Detail Description of Invention (s) It is a new patented invention (patent number ZL201120195249.4). It combines the functions of wedge and door hinge to satisfy different purposes. Users only need to install a ‘Door Stopper Hinge’ on the door, the door can be fastened automatically at a preset angle, e.g. 60°. It will not be blown down by the wind suddenly. Users need not drill on the wall or afraid of losing the wedge. If the users want to release the security, they only push up the lever gently or open the door at the angle less than 60°.

Detail Description of Invention (s) The name of invention is “Rabbits�. It is made from two small acrylic sheets with size only about 4cm x 2.5cm x 0.5cm. This invention includes two plastic sheets and they are used on any common sport shoes. The Rabbits (plastic sheets) are placed on the top of the shoes. They are used for the disables or children to fasten the shoe lace. The followings are the procedure of using this invention: First, tie the knot at both Rabbits. Second, the user needs to pull a little tight of the shoe lace. Finally the shoe lace will be placed at the designated position.

My invention “Enjoy Reading Device� only needs three pieces of plastic mirrors. Two pieces are ordinary; one piece can magnify the objects. They are installed in a frame and fixed on the bed side. Take it out when the users want to read books.

It actually is a stirrer. The user may use this “Stirring Cup” to stir the egg or any sediment accumulated inside the bottom of the cup. Simply the user only needs to press the button on the lid to get these advantages.

Detail Description of Invention (s) “Rear View Glasses” is a simple glasses designed for the people to see both the front view as well as the back side view. It has a set of cover on both the left hand and right hand sides of the glasses. There are two extra arms inside the covers. The arms are connected to two pieces of magnifying mirrors which are used for looking backwards. However, These mirror’s arms can be easily adjusted to a suitable distant for the user to focus the objects at the back.

Detail Description of Invention (s) My invention is used for the users who are living in the flats to sun-dry and collect the clothes easily and safely. It is composed of several extendable metal sticks and sheet metal. For the extendable stick, the users need not protrude to sun-dry their clothes. They only need to put the hangers on the stick and then extend it. Carabiners are added together for fixing the clothes hangers. It conforms the hangers would not fall from the sticks. The setup can be adjusted into different height. It can set up on the balcony even set up inside the department. The design allows the users to regulate the height of stick to be a fixable position for the users to collect clothes conveniently.

It makes sure people can clean the windows more safely and convenient. The manufacture process of Safety Window Cleaner Brush was very simple. To prevent this kind of accident, I invented Safety Nail Holder.

The lamp lights up if the surrounding is dim. It ensures that the plant carry out photosynthesis in 24 hours. Therefore, the plants can grow up rapidly. Since some research said that plant growth needs the light wave is red, blue, we use LED plant lamp, according to the plant photosynthesis’s principle, the reference vegetable cell pigment and the growth needs the light wavelength. Such as red, blue color. It is more efficient than normal lamp with the entire spectrum of visible light since some light wave is not needed. Therefore LED save more energy.

Detail Description of Invention (s) Edged Shoes use Line follower robot that implemented in pair of shoes. Line follower robot is a robot that can follow the line automatically. Its sensor serves as the “eyes�. It will accept and reflect the light. In the white fields, almost all the light will be reflected. In the dark field, light is reflected only in part. Analog data on sensor will be converted into digital data by AT MEGA 16 microcontroller.
The Mechanism : Sensor receives the reflected light from the infra red. There are two cases, where the reflected light comes from the dark areas, photo diode will accept small reflected light which causes small resistances so that the voltage becomes large. If the reflected light comes from the white areas, there are a lot of reflected light received by photo diode, resulting large in the inhibition of photo diode so that the voltage becomes small. Carbofil consists of two steel plates one of which is attached by nails a high-voltage electricity. CO2 will continue to enter the filter with the help of exhausted fan. Once the CO2 into the filter, carbon will stick to the high-voltage spikes, and it will result O2 and O3 (ozone) is free. Because O3 is dangerous to breathe, then we put the charcoal in the output filter to filter back into O2 O3 and turn freely. Steel plate used 20 x 10 cm. while the distance from the tip of the nail to the other plate of 1.7 cm. So carbofil can minimize CO2 pollution by filtering its way

We added our product with a pair of breaks at both backsides of the stroller. To stabilise the stroller, we put a net look-alike at the lower part. Since the model is made from light iron metal. If the biomass wastes does not utilised,it will encourage environmental pollution. One of the biomass wastes is the oil palm fronds. It can be produces into potential product such as particles board. The flow chart of the particle board manufacturing are from raw material, the oil palm fronds to chipping then flaking the chips into different size of particles. Next is air-drying, screening to four size of particle (2.0mm, 1.0mm, 0.5mm and fine size), oven drying, forming and lastly pressing in hot press to form a particle board. Testing is conducted to study the density, thickness swelling, water absorption, and Modulus Of Rupture test. In conclusion, the biomass waste can be overcome through producing particles board. The objective our research is to characterize PALF and to investigate the effect of fibre treatment on the mechanical properties of PALF reinforced polypropylene (PP) composite PALF was obtained from pineapple plantation after the harvesting. The we dry the PALF to remove the water. Next step is grind the PALF into small particle. Both PP and PALF were compounded using internal mixer machine prior to compression moulding via hot press machine to form a sheet. After forming the composite sheet, samples were prepared for tensile test (ASTM D638), flexural test (ASTM D790) and impact test (ASTM D256).

The paper and paperboard industry in Malaysia grew from 1.6% to 35% from 1999 to 2000. This research to utilize pineapple leaf fiber as an alternative sources of cellulose material to produce brown pulp and unbleached paper. At same time to reduce dependency on paper based on wood. Pineapple leaf fibre, which is rich in cellulose, relative inexpensive and abundantly available has the potential for polymer-reinforced composite. In this innovation, pineapple leaves waste was used as a based to produce pulp for making unbleach paper. The product has a low cost production for industrial purpose and can be recycled. To overcome this up growing problem, we made lots of research and invented a plant-based air purifier that we named it Eco Air Purifier (EAP). It naturally purifies air by drawing it with a whisper-quiet fan to propel it through the leaves and root system of the plant, out through water and soil filtration and back into the room environment. It also can produce a nice aroma by itself and become a natural therapy in the building. Our research and experiment have proven that EAP is 40 times more efficient than the standard HEPA and carbon filters in removing volatile toxins, such as formaldehyde, a known human carcinogen commonly used in floor coverings or benzene and ammonia, found in many household cleaning supplies.

Detail Description of Invention (s) Fire is the third leading cause of accidental deaths in United States and Canada. It is a chemical reaction involving oxidation or burning of fuel. As we know water, foam, halon, carbon dioxide are some common fire extinguishers. The problem is how would these substances can be released to put out fire. By exploring about methods to release CO2 immediately and it is believed that Potassium Bicarbonate and Sodium Bicarbonate release CO2 quickly, and the presence of fire can extinguish the flame. Moreover, if KHCO3 and NaHCO3 can be combined with household paint, it could serve as a safety precaution for homes. If a house were to catch fire, the fire resistant walls will contain the flame itself and prevent it from spreading to other rooms or houses. This experiment is to test the possibility of adding KHCO3, and NaHCO3 to paint which has organic compounds and its fire extinguished characteristic. If these compounds can successfully be added to paint without producing any by product, this new fire-retardant and resistant paint can save a lot of lives and diminish damages caused by fire.

Detail Description of Invention (s) Tests have been carried out to evaluate the performance and emission characteristics of a single cylinder direct injection diesel engine fuelled by 10. 30 and 50 percent blends of Tyre Pyrolysis Oil (TPO) with diesel fuel (DF). The combustion parameters such as heat release rate, cylinder peak pressure and maximum rate of pressure rise which also analysed. For this work, TPO was derived from wasted automobile tyre through vacuum pyrolysis in one kg batch pyrolysis unit. Results showed that the brake thermal efficiency of the engine fuelled by TPO-DF blends increased with the increasing in blend concentration and higher than DF, Nitrogen Oxides, Hydrocarbon, Carbon Oxides and smoke emissions were found to be higher at higher loads due to high aromatic content and longer ignition delay. The cylinder peak pressure increased from 71.4 bar to 73.6 bar. The ignition delays were longer than DF.

Commonly the materials that others used for their project were PVC. The plastic material that had been used in this project is polyethylene terephthalate (PET1) plastic bottles. After several revision of the design, the rubbish trap model was fabricated. This rubbish trap consists of a single layer of floating bottles and two pairs of valve at the opposite sides to trap the rubbish during low and high tides.

UniART1 is using Yamaha LC 4 stroke engine with some major modifications for inter higher institutions cart racing. The UniART1 top speed could be achieved up to 110km/h and 12000 rpm. Since UniART1 engine undergone major modification on head, stroke, block, piston type, valve size, CAM’s, crank shaft, CDI’s, carburetor, and exhaust pipe, the combustion system will release greater harmful gasses such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOx). This occurred because the standard system set by manufacturer has been retuning without particular environment monitoring.

The appearance of the new coal is design in a small size than ordinary coal. The processes to produce this coal are more easily and take short time. It is a new invention created by us to replace the ordinary coal. The ordinary processes to produce coal are using trees that we need cutting down trees. Now, we save the environment by using wastage material. We have thought an alternative to find overcome the problem why the ecosystems are destroyed by human beings. Detail Description of Invention (s) An incident which has caused many problems to be dealt with at Sekolah Menengah Sains Miri occurred due to corrosion, for the most part. The incident is none other than the deterioration of the condition of the buildings in Sekolah Menengah Sains Miri, particularly the junior block. Severe corrosion has been detected in parts of certain buildings, leading to doubts of their technical integrity and fitness for occupation. The school administration had to make reports about the poor condition of the school. Parents were frantic about their children’s safety, causing stress not only to parents, but also children themselves. These led to several meetings held among the teachers of the school to figure out solid methods to deal with the problem. The problem became so serious that it is quite well-known among the ministers all over Malaysia, namely, Yang Berhormat Datin Hajah Fatimah Abdullah and Yang Berhormat Tan Sri Datuk Dr. George Chan. All of these finally led to a decisive conclusion, which is to remain being in SM Sains Miri but may suffer a little congestion among the students. Four male students’ hostels which used to be occupied were reduced to only two and there are about 30 students in a class compared to only around 25 per class before this. We believe that all these problems would not have happened if corrosion was prevented wisely. This is where cathodic protection (CP) comes into place. Application of CP system can help to prevent corrosion of steel structures in the school.

Heavy metal contamination of various water resources is of great concern because of the toxic effect to the human beings and other animals and plants in the environment. According to surface complex mechanism, many hydrophilic membranes have been investigated for the separation of heavy metal mixture. Great efforts have been made to develop new effective membranes because it is the key to commercializing polymer based membranes. A novel polymeric membrane based on the combination of chitosan and latex was developed. Latex was used as supporting material of chitosan in to form a dense nanofiltration membrane. Nanofitration process is a process which membranes with nano size pores. The chitosan-latex nanofiltarion membrane was produced in laboratory and the applications for this membrane are novel. The properties and characterization of nanofiltration membrane such as: tensile strength, rejection efficiency, flux permeation, pore size and surface morphology were investigated. The applications of chitosan-latex nanofitration membrane for water treatment, waste water treatment, textile industry, food industry and especially for metal industry to heavy metal removal.

Detail Description of Invention (s) Ethnopharmacological relevance: In traditional practice, Syzygium polyantum was employed as a remedy for high blood pressure, diabetes, migraine, headaches, bacterial and fungal infections, and gastric ulcers Aim: This study investigated the antinociceptive effects of Methanol Extract of Syzygium polyanthum (MESP) in chemical behavioral models of nociception in mice. Materials and methods: MESP given through intraperitoneal route (i.p) produced dose-related antinociceptive when assessed on acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing test in mice. Acetic acid-induced abdominal constrictions in mice were employed to evaluate the MESP antinociception effect. The extract was administered via intraperitoneal (i.p.) administration at doses of, 10, 30, 100 and 300 mg/kg. Results: It was demonstrated that MESP produced significant antinociceptive response in the chemical induced nociception model. Conclusion: The results from the present study may support the folkloric belief in the medicinal properties of Syzygium polyanthum. Detail Description of Invention (s) We invent electromagnetic disc brake system as a new alternative for medium and small vehicles. The magnitude of current supplied is proportional with the braking force. The design of the solenoid ensures that maximum force could be produced within minimum currents. These forces will push the brake pad and consequently clamp the disc. The braking force produce will decelerate the vehicles. When the brake pedal is released, the iron core let the discharge of magnetic field happen and terminate electromagnetic force quickly. Thus, the brake pad will then release back from the disc. Numbers of experiments has been conducted in this research to compare the force produced by the electromagnetic system and hydraulic system. By varying the design of solenoid and magnitude of the current. A car, Perodua Kelisa EXi1.0 has been used to compare the braking force produced under different velocity. The results are significant, each solenoid can produce up to 742.4N pushing force. As a set of electromagnetic braking system consist of total 14 solenoids (8 front wheels : 6rear wheels), can produce up to total 5196.8N braking force. Compared to result for regular hydraulic braking system on Perodua Kelisa Ezi 1.0, this electromagnet produced more than sufficient braking force up to 82.44% higher, which led to possibilities of applying this system in heavier vehicles in future studies. Advantages of the Invention(s) Electromagnetic disc brake system emerge as a good alternative for braking system because: 1. We are replacing hydraulic system, which mean there is no more hassle on designing and positioning the hydraulic pipeline in car. 2. Electromagnet will suit best nowadays and the future of technology of automobile, which is now focused on new technology of electric car (hybrid). 3. Proven (calculation) for small and medium class vehicles, the design of electromagnet used in this project could produce a massive force, which has a big potential for heavy vehicle too. 4. Hydraulic disc brake system needs maintenance. In contrast, apart from the wear off of brake pads, there is no other maintenance should be made for electromagnetic disc brake system.

A systemic combination of all the three components above ( hydraulic jet , Nutty-Notty and a ratchet spanner) results in a seemingly effortless movement which is able to loosen the screw on the tyre and at the same time lifts the car up for easy removal of the flat tyre. In this context , the concept of Pascal’s Principle is utilised where the force applied to the hydraulic jet is generated not only to lift the car up , but at the same time is also applied to loosen the screw on the tyre. After all the screws have been loosened and dislodged the flat tyre can now be easily replaced. When a new tyre is put in place ,the same tool is again used in a similar manner to tighten all the screws. Hence a flat tyre is fixed easily and swiftly.

Detail Description of Invention (s) In this high technology modern world, oil spill incidence has becomes a major news with the statistics showing that 13 million tons of oil is spilled every year with the United States as the country most responsible for the accident. Thus, we have came out with an idea to solve this problem. Sea Saviour is invented to help reduce oil spill pollution in the water by filtering the oil. Sea saviour is made by using Perspex and is divided into 4 chambers with the size of 12cm x 12cm . Sea Saviour uses coconut husks and human hair as the main materials that act as an absorber. The first chamber contains the combination of water and crude oil while the second and the third chambers contain coconut husks and human hair. The fourth chamber stores the final product which contains water that is free from crude oil. Sea Saviour has been proven effective from the pH value of the filtered water and the percentage of crude oil that has been absorbed. For the first experiment, the values of 5 gram, 10 gram, 15 gram, 20 gram and 25 gram of hair are combined with coconut husks that absorb 40 ml of crude oil. The results are pH 6.6, pH 6.7, pH 6.8, pH 6.9 and pH 7.0 respectively. The results show that hair and coconut husks can change the quality of water from acidic to alkaline or even neutral. Of 150 ml crude oil used, 24% is absorbed by 5 gram of hair, 33.67% by 10 gram, 40.13% by 15 gram, 67.5% by 20 gram and 72.67% by 25 gram. Of 150 ml crude oil used, 21.4% is absorbed by 5 gram of coconut husks, 23.0% by 10 gram, 46.0% by 15 gram, 72.73% by 20 gram and 88.67% by 25 gram The project can be used as the global product to avoid the oil spilling pollution. As the MARA students, we really hope that Sea Saviour can help in the development of engineering field to become important sources in preserving the nature of sea.

Detail Description of Invention (s) The purpose of the project is to enhance the current safety level of busy streets and roads besides reducing the burden of the government, which is to pay the nerve breaking bills of the street lamps, which will be on all night long. The sub-purpose is to lessen environmental pollution. The hypothesis is to produce a carbon-free energy harvester, which can produce electricity, to be used to light up street lamps and signboards available. The Sleeping Energy Harvester will be placed beneath the road and can produce electricity continuously depending on the frequency of vehicles on the road. Rechargeable battery is used to ensure the continuous lighting of the street lamps. It will therefore be very convenient because direct electrical power supply is not needed. The energy harvester will definitely lessen the consumption of electrical power supply in busy streets. Thus, environmental pollution can also be reduced. Firstly, when a vehicle goes over the energy harvester, it exerts force on the metal tubing placed beneath the energy harvester. The metal tubing will then rotate the motors soldered to the free wheels (gears), with the assistance of chain welded to the metal tubing. The electricity spawned will then be directed to a 9 V rechargeable battery which will get charged. When switch is pressed, the electrical energy from the battery will be used to light up street lamps. The factors which affect the amount of electricity produced are mass (amount of force) and rate of speed of vehicles. In conclusion, Sleeping Energy Harvester can generate electricity rather than obtaining them from a direct current supplier, which requires the burning of fossil fuels.

The methods include steps to be taken to avoid any disturbance to their crops. A bird scarer is device designed to scare birds, usually employed by farmers to dissuade birds from eating recently planted arable crops. One of the oldest designs of bird scarer is the scarecrow in the shape of a human figure. The scarecrow idea has been built upon numerous times. But, the oldest design of this method doesn’t work so well with all species, considering that some species frequently perch on scarecrows. So, we design a new modern version of scarecrow which works efficiently to scare the bird. This version of scare crow not just used to scare the birds but also as a garden light. At noon, this scarecrow will move its hand to scare the birds using solar energy. At night, solar energy that saved in battery will be used to light up the bulb. This version is a multiuse full project that can be used not just in any agricultural fields, but also as a garden light.

Virtually all Homo sapiens need water. 97% of H2O on the Earth is salt water, and only 3% is fresh water of which slightly over 2/3 is frozen in glaciers and polar ice caps. Fresh water is a renewable resource, yet the world’s supply of pure, fresh water is steadily decreasing. Water demand already exceeds supply in many parts of the Earth and as the Earth’s population continues to rise, so too does the demand of water. Our team has come up with an idea of recycling household used water. The water collected will be supplied through a pipe. Paper is used in our everyday life and is thrown away easily but the trees that were cut down to make this paper take ages to grow. There has been many people who have contributing a lot in helping our Mother Nature like recycling and reusing paper but we have felt that we have to do something more. Thus, in making paper other from tree such as flower petals and yam stems for they are able to produce a paper-like texture. Since flower petals and yam stems are easily found in my country, we are able to make some use of it when it starts wilting as it does not just go to waste. Mainly, our country, Malaysia, consists of many bougainvillea or also known as “Bunga Kertas�. Thus, making paper out of this would be less costly as it grows in a large number. We did tons of research about this and after many experiments done in various motions, we manage to come to a perfect result.

It is approximately 0.06mm thick, 25 inches long and 15 inches wide. It is designed for plants grown in a greenhouse. It effectively traps moisture especially during daytime, thus conserving water in soil. It controls soil microclimate. It does not ‘burn’ plants or reflects heat to plants. Simulation experiments showed that soil moisture evaporation is reduced by 30 to 40%. The slow degradation and disintegration of the mulch adds nutrients to the soil. It also controls weed growth.

That game is played for 20 minutes per set game, and each player is given one minute maximum to think of the science word. After 20 minutes of the game the points are added made by each player with deducted points, due to each player penalty made during the game. The researcher want to know if the filter paper made from the fiber of water hyacinth is comparable to the performance output of commercial filter paper. Because of high proliferation rate of water hyacinth, it is very useful for everybody to discover a new use of water hyacinth. It can help in the elimination of Water hyacinth in the bodies of water. To be able to make a filter paper, the researcher collected water hyacinth and done the decortication process. The fiber was obtained and the process of making a filter paper was done in DOST. Different chemicals were mixed in the pulp slurry that helps in the improvement of quality of the filter paper. Different test were done to compare the performance output and physical properties of the filter paper.

Detail Description of Invention (s) Circuit boards are very essential in our generation. They are very important in the field of electronics, robotics, and other sciences. Those electronic boards are consisting of several parts which are quite dominant in our place, and sometimes become discarded. This brainstorming leads us to use Nata de Coco. It is a chewy, translucent, and jelly-like food product produced by fermentation of coconut water. In this study, the mentioned material is processed and made into a circuit board, board that we can use aside from high-cost PVCs that serve as the base for electronic cards nowadays. Several tests are made on the processed board. Those examinations proved the uniqueness of Nata de Coco among PVCs. It shows flexibility which other boards doesn’t have. The researcher also tests the heat-resistance from electrical, mechanical and radial heat. Also, I examined the surface strength by means of applying high friction (scratching with sand paper) and it shows no scratches or any fluffs. As another test, I made it into a SIM Card, and then operated it on 77 mobile phones.

Detail Description of Invention (s) This study aims to promote the vital importance of microbial treasures in marine biodiversity as new sources of drug leads in the medical world. Marine Associated Bacteria were isolated from the sponge and preserved in a glycerol stocks. They were revived and recultured into R2A and ISP2 media. 27 isolates were extracted using diaion and subjected to Antimicrobial Microdilution Assay. 5 of them exhibited high percentage inhibition namely R2A 788’1-A1, R2A 786’1-C1, SDA 828 A1, ISP2 852A and R2A 775’1-B1. R2A 786’1-C1 was found to be a gram-negative bacteria while the rest of the isolates were gram-positive bacteria based on the gram staining. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, it was shown that R2A 788’1-A1 belongs to genus Streptomyces while R2A 786’1-C1 belongs to gnus Erythrobacter. Moreover, R2A 775’1-B1 was found to be an uncultured bacterium. It is proposed to be newly discovered bacteria because it does not match any established RNA sequences in the database. The phylogenetic tree showed that R2A 788’1-A1, R2A 775’1-B1 and R2A 786’1-C1 were clustered with its relatives. The study recommends the characterization and purification of the isolates using High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry.

Detail Description of Invention (s) This study promotes the vital awareness of cancer prevention science in reducing mortality and morbidity. Cancer is the leading cause of death globally. Because of this, the researcher looked for the potential of anticancer agents from plant sources like Solanum torvum, Pachyptera alliacea and Aleurites moluccana. They are collected from various places in Metro Manila. It then subjected to extraction. After drying, Phytochemical analysis was done to determine the bioactive compounds. DPPH Radical Scavenging cancer and normal cell line which implies that the stem extracts sample are not cytotoxic. Solanum torvum, Pachyptera alliacea and their mixture have anti-cell adhesion activity on human lung carcinoma and a very small anti-cell adhesion activity on normal cells. Solanum torvum exhibits the highest anti-cell adhesion activity with a mean percentage of 46.7% in cancer cells mainly due to the presence of alkaloids, fatty acids, cyanidin, leucoanthocyanin and anthraquinones. This study recommends isolation of the active compounds of the stems extract of Solanum torvum. Activity was performed to determine the antioxidant activity of plants which can inhibit free radicals. Trypan blue exclusion assay was done to determine the anticancer activity of the plants. Results showed that samples and their mixture exhibits 100% viability on both cancer and normal cell line which implies that the stem extracts sample are not cytotoxic. Solanum torvum, Pachyptera alliacea and their mixture have anti-cell adhesion activity on human lung carcinoma and a very small anti-cell adhesion activity on normal cells. Detail Description of Invention (s) Biofuels makes use of corns and soya beans as energy sources. However, such use of agricultural products contributes to food shortage. This study looks into the possibility of using waste banana peelings as source of ethanol and to compare the ethanol percentage yield between Trichoderma harzianum and Pleurotus florida. Musa paradisiaca linn (saba banana) peelings were hydrolyzed for seven days and fermented for 120 hours. After filtration and distillation, the extracts were subjected to gas chromatography determine its alcohol content. The results affirmed that banana peelings with suspended pleurotus florida and sugar yielded the highest ethanol concentration of 65.74% compared with the other samples. The hydrolyzed banana peelings fermented in suspended trichoderma harzianum yielded 29.43% of ethanol. It is recommended that the longer time span of hydrolysis using pleurotus florida to further boost the sugar production used in the fermentation process. Plantation of saba banana in the country is highly recommended for mass production of ethanol.

Detail Description of Invention (s) The Thermoelectric powered mini-fan is a device in which it generates its own energy by the principle of thermoelectric effect wherein the directconversion of temperature differences to electric voltage happens with the use of thermoelectric generator or Peltier module. The thermoelectric generator or Peltier module is a unique semiconductor device that relies upon the Seebeck effect to generate electricity. When two dissimilar semiconductors (p-type and n-type) at the same temperature are connected together they establish a static electric potential difference. When a temperature difference is introduced, heat flows across the joined semiconductors which in turn permit electrons to flow. The temperature needed in this process must be at least 65°C (150°F) and the top of the fan must remain cool. The Thermoelectric powered fan needs to draw cooler air from behind in order to operate to create different temperature on each side of the thermoelectric generator or Peltier module. The actual rotation of the blade as well as the cooler air and the heat source are the essential elements needed for the thermoelectric powered fan to operate. With this electron flow, by which in current form, comes the ability to power electrical devices such as the fan’s motor.

Here are some of the examples. First, it happens that the audience do not have a recording device at hand when they want the presentation to be recorded. Second, if the lecturer forgets to bring with a laser pointer, some troubles can be observed in a presentation. Third, a sanitary issue may be the attention after the microphone is used frequently by different people. Fourth, a delay takes place on condition that the lecturer does not notice how long the time has elapsed. To resolve these problems mentioned above, consequently, we came up with the idea of “Super Power Microphone”. This “Super Power Microphone” has a recording device enabling people to record what the lecturer presents in a presentation, plus a USB device to convey the recorded content. A laser pointer is also designed under the microphone to designate the highlights on the slides. To maintain hygiene, the microphone head is changeable. What is more, a timer on the microphone helps the time control in a presentation.

Not only do we have to use a lot of strength to lift the lid, we also have to worry about the boiling soup inside the bowl spilling out, causing danger. In order to solve problems, we invented “The Poring Bowl”. An airtight space is formed after the bowl of soup is capped with a lid. After a while, temperatures inside the bowl drop, causing some steam to condense into water, lowering the air density and pressures inside the bowl, creating a condition in which pressures inside the bowl are lower than pressures outside the bowl, making the lid stick to the bowl. When using our product, after capping the lid, the top of the “Special Poring Device” covers the hole we drilled onto the lid, forming an airtight space, keeping the original flavor of the soup inside the bowl.

So we decided to recycle chalk power and make it into paper. Three different resins (glue, Elmer’s glue and crazy glue) were added. We also put talcum powder to make our paper glossy. For this reason, the author had an idea to design a movable median strip so that when traffic congestion occurs, the strip would be moved to expand the congested lane quickly from 2 to 3 m, limiting traffic congestion.

Detail Description of Invention (s) The model is made up of a water treatment system and a watering system in the garden. Domestic waste water will be led to a tank and then flows into a filter and basically treated so as not to affect plants and trees. Then water will run into the tank and is pumped to water plants and trees. There is also a timer relay that activates the pump in order to pump water from the container to water through a preset pipeline in the garden. In front of the pump, float valves are fitted to prevent waste from falling into the tank and when water is used up, the relay will switch itself, ensuring proper operation of the system.

The machine has a line that transfers cut products into a container. When the container is full of products, the container should be controlled to lift up automatically to pour out products to the ground.
