EXPERIENCIAS

20 / Sonia Vecchio 21 / Muriel Massin

FO OD FOR THO UG HT

Editorial

In this issue dedicated to Women, I wanted to touch the eternal question: Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists? Without much room or time, I took excerpts from an article by Linda Nochlin a few years back in Artnews.com.

Most discussions talk about the so-called woman problem. There are no great women artists because women are incapable of greatness? Is there a different kind of “greatness” for women’s art than for men’s? Women artists are more inward-looking, more delicate and nuanced in their treatment of their medium? Certainly though, if daintiness, delicacy and preciousness are to be counted as earmarks of a feminine style, there is nothing fragile about Rosa Bonheur’s Horse Fair, nor dainty and introverted about Helen Frankenthaler’s giant canvases. If women have turned to scenes of domestic life, or of children, so did Jan Steen, Chardin and the Impressionists—Renoir and Monet as well as Morisot and Cassatt. In any case, the mere choice of a certain realm of subject matter, or the restriction to certain subjects, is not to be equated with a style, much less with some sort of quintessentially feminine style. The making of art involves a self-consistent language of form, more or less dependent upon, or free from, given temporally-defined conventions, schemata or systems of notation, which have to be learned or worked out, either through teaching, apprenticeship or a long period of individual experimentation. The language of art is, more materially, embodied in paint and line on canvas or paper, in stone or clay or plastic or metal—it is neither a sob-story nor a confidential whisper.

The fact is that there are no women equivalents for Michelangelo or Rembrandt, Delacroix or Cézanne, Picasso or Matisse, or even, in very recent times, for de Kooning or Warhol. Thus women and their situation in the arts, as in other realms of endeavor, are not a “problem” to be viewed through the eyes of the dominant male power elite. Instead, women must conceive of themselves as potentially, if not actually, equal subjects, and must be willing to look the facts of their situation full in the face, without self-pity, or cop-outs; at the same time they must view their situation with that high degree of emotional and intellectual commitment necessary to create a world in which equal achievement will be not only made possible but actively encouraged by social institutions. Thus the question of women’s equality—in art as in any other realm—devolves not upon the relative benevolence or ill-will of individual men, nor the self-confidence or abjectness of individual women, but rather on the very nature of our institutional structures themselves and the view of reality which they impose on the human beings who are part of them. Now days, in most countries, women are allowed into most, if not all, Academies of Fine Arts and competitions around the world. Also, allowed to train shoulder to shoulder with men on the disrobed human body, and women can wear the most comfortable garments for the task without prejudice. Let’s all get to work! Diana Moya

CRITICA DOTT.SSA MATTEA MICELLO

Federica Desantis / ALG

F R O M LONDON TO BARCELON A , A NEW CON CEPT FOR ART LOV ER S Back in 2015, ALG’s roots are to be found in London when the founder Federica Desantis, an Italian working in sales and marketing was living and working there. As an art lover, she spent hours and days walking in galleries and museums without getting the chance to meet the actual artists. The core of ALG was to create an art event she and her friends were dreaming of: possibility for emerging artists to showcase their work and meet and interact with the audience. The first ALG event took place in May 2015 in the arty area of Shoreditch, London, with only 10 artists and more than 100 participants. Two years later, the 10th ALG event is taking place in Arteria BCN, a 400 m2 gallery in the center of Barcelona. With more than 100 applications, days of deliberations, it results with the selection of 25 talented artists. The Arteria gallery offers a great deal of space and light for artists to exhibit their art. During the night, participants and guests can enjoy a live music act and live art performances. During our previous events, Art Lover Ground was featured on Local and International Magazines such us the Spanish Metropolitan BCN, Guiris en Barcelona, Timeout, Evenssi, The culture Trip, Shit Magazine; the french magazine Equinox and Le Petitjournal and the Italian ones: RadioBombo, Trani Viva, 20eventi etc..

We were also guest of the Catalan TV El Punt Avui and Beteve Artic as well as the national italian TV Telenorba and various radios in London and Barcelona. International Hub for Artists based in Europe More than an event, Art Lover Ground is a place where artists and art lover can meet and exchange. It is an unique opportunity for young and emerging artists to get visibility. For many of the artists, it will be their first exhibition. ALG’s goals is to give a voice to the artists and help them opening new doors in the artistic world. The challenge of Art Lover Ground is to build a vibrant community of artists where we will share experiences and tips, and collaborate on future projects. You can follow us on Instagram or our Facebook page, where we share interviews of the artists, videos of the events and more. Experience Art Lover Ground!

I N C ESANTE LUCHA HACI E N D O D E CADA EXPRES I Ó N UN P R E T EXTO

Fatima Messana

“ FAT IM A M ES SA N A : ORAC L E OF T H E A BYS S ” by Maria Rita Montagnani

“When bitter hecate descends you cannot flee her loathsome wing like a caress she strikes a mortal blow. You hide in a world that does not yet exist. All that is most obscure is akin to you.” Milo Rossi

“The sculptures of Fatima Messana bring into play two opposing and contrasting forces – thought and emotion – which, within their dialectic and creative contrast, become complementary and necessary to one another. In fact, thought builds conjecture that is often demolished by emotion, just as feelings create new ways and worlds that reason then investigates, making them intelligible, developing the dimension of awareness. Fatima Messana seems to be burdened with the weight and mass of an archaic heritage, centuries old, that the young artist manages to combine with her expert knowledge of modern materials and techniques to forge work that is contemporary and immediate. But today, the present is and remains a territory that is more uncertain and arduous than ever, a no-man’s land, a hazardous terrain swept by thousand-year old gales and storms but that could still emerge as a fertile land for new visions and unconventional existential perspectives. In these works there is something that is not openly expressed, but only hinted and barely palpable; something sibylline, almost prescient… there is a sensation of danger, an imminent or future threat, that casts a long shadow of strange foreboding before and within us like a sense of uneasy presentiment or vague premonition. And this presentiment is the place of our conscious inconsistency, the root of fearful unknown territories teeming with shadows, doubts, queries and terrifying bottomless voids that open up among rock-hard human certainties. In this state of suspension, everything is on the brink of toppling from its solid immobility, as if an invisible mind or hand places each thing in precarious equilibrium on the sense of its own enigma. If, for the artist, sculpture signifies giving a familiar face to what is most foreign to us, for Fatima Messana it represents tearing away the customary face of the things that seem recognisable to return them to their obscure origins… finally flinging them magnificently into the abyss of the void and the unknown.” Maria Rita Montagnani, Art critic / independent curator

I’m an artist and writer, with a background in space engineering. I believe my lifelong mission is to bridge technology and emotions. We live in a world where technology is evolving fast, but what happens to the heart? It seems to have been left behind. My first book, The Heart is the Center of the Universe, is about the tremendous healing powers of art, honesty and love. It tells the poetic story of an inner journey: the desire to find love, the dreams, the suffering, the myths and the (un) expected bliss. I’m currently writing my second book. It is about the struggles of an artist to keep creating, despite all odds. It is about adventures and hope. A story about being human. There are stories that one can tell best, while back floating in the pool, with the scuba diver feet on, whistling a song. There’s a paintings odyssey I carry in my heart, a story I immersed myself into, which carried me or my words or my artwork back and forth, from the Netherlands to Bucharest, from Germany to New York, from Paris to Madrid, Rome, Barcelona, Cordoba, Milano and Porto. It has carried me or just my essence, condensed into brushstrokes or written words, back and forth, from agony to ecstasy. It all started with a fortunate encounter with a painter in a supermarket in Leiden, the Netherlands, asking me if I want to become his muse. I never saw him again, but the “what if” seeds were already planted in my soul. What if I can do it myself, what if I can become an artist myself and teach myself joy and, as the fluid learning and creation process goes on flowing, I can pass the teachings of love, that cost me so much emotional consumption, to other people? One important chapter of this painting odyssey, probably the most important one, is about people. I learnt there are two types of people: those who would kindly encourage you to go, supporting you emotionally and those who would attempt to cut off your wings because they cannot imagine themselves with wings. But love, all of them deserve it. A book that slowly builds itself, adding real and imaginary layers to the backbone of reality, in the same manner I build my artwork, connecting the pieces of my life experience so far, a book in which I am both Ulysses and Penelope, in which I fight and I hope and I wait for more magic to happen.

Emma Luna

Coloured Mary

Coloured Mary (María Arcos Morales), is a young multidisciplinary artist from Madrid, which stands out among its many facets as an artist of Bodyart and Bodypainting, as well as video artist, painter, photographer and sculptor. Director of the brand and studio “Coloured Mary ART” (specializing in characterization and bodypainting) and also founder and organizer of the collective of Women artists “Mezkla de creadoras”, for sorority, empowerment and multiculturalism. These same premises of empowerment, women and multiculturalism, are usually her maxims in their creations, which we also find the most tribal expressionist feeling intermingled with futuristic and innovative tenors that contain numerous details.

Yanina de Martino

Observing this artwork, the viewer is immediately caught by its three-dimensionality. In fact, the artist presents us a series of nine geometrical cubes, every one peculiar and different from all the others. By mixing various elements and colour tones, she moulds an internal disposition allowing it an independent physical existence, giving it a volume, a weight, a concrete presence with whom occupy a space. The ouvre, in this way, detaches itself from the background and gets closer to the viewer, calling him to enter in communication with it. It’s a unique construction that brings together several distinctive units, creating a whole which is much more than a mere sum of its different parts, as stated the Gestalt psychology. Therefore, here the artist recreates a sort of microcosm, underlining the importance of every singular section that participates of its nature. We derive a sense of universal harmony from it, a melody which is possible to hear thanks to the action of any single note which makes up the composition. As mosaic tiles, us human beings participate of the same nature: we’re all unique parts of the same reality and without one of us this reality is irremediably brought to change. Moreover, the reflection on such a theme as the passage of time, as announced in the title of the artwork, is one of the most fathomed yet still very current and heart-felt when considering our human condition. Time teaches, time heals, in any case its action leaves traces in our souls as well as on our bodies, in our spiritual as well as physical evolution; pushing us to change in order to keep pace with it. In Yanina’s cubes, these temporal marks are represented through the stretches of colours that impress their surfaces in an unfading manner. Visually, this artwork seems to reconnect to the research of artists such as Paul Klee and in particular Josef Albers, whose colour field paintings made frequent use of square geometrical shapes while investigating the communicative power and the symbolic meaning of colours, seen as a primary subject of the artistic creation. But, differently from these prestigious examples, Yanina’s works have left behind any trace of two-dimensionality, giving shape to a reality that presents an interesting mix of sculpture and painting. The colour, here, is still very relevant but the artist manifests an urgent need to experiment with various type of materials, gathering them together in her artwork in order to elevate its overall value and channeling all their peculiar symbolic meanings into the creating process. By using artificial resin, Yanina succeeds in freezing various time intervals: “Con el correr del tiempo” shows, therefore, a span of nine singular moments of her lifetime. It’s the attempt to leave a trail of her peculiar existence for a longer period: the purpose of any artist as well as of any living being; the proof of their presence on Earth, the emblem of a productive and fulfilled life conducted realizing a precise aim. We’re not immortal, so it’s important not to waste any moment of this precious gift we were given: to follow our passions, to stay close to our beloved, to express ourselves: that’s the way to truly benefit of our lifetime. We don’t have to worry too much about time flying, the secret lies in focusing on the present moment which we are experiencing and in living it to its fullest. “There’s only a manner of forgetting time: using it.” Charles Baudelaire Deborah Maggiolo, Art Curator

María Gimeno

My question is simple: Could you give me the name of 3 women artists, before the 20th century? If you don´t know 3, maybe 1? “Queridas Viejas” is an artistic video project in which I include women artists throughout the history of art, a place from which they have been systematically excluded.

What is “Queridas viejas”? With a kitchen knife, I cut Gombrich’s “The History of Art”, and physically I introduce the missing pages, to create a unique art history, where creator men and creator women coexist. Why the Gombrich? “The History of Art” by E.H. Gombrich (1909-2011) published in 1950, currently published by Phaidon has sold until today more than 8,000,000 copies worldwide; It does not mention a single female artist in his more than 600 pages. I have chosen this book because it is the icon of the established canon and the one that defines what is Art , with capital A. I read it for the first time in 1st of Fine Arts, 1991, and I did not even realize that it did not include women, I did not know them, so I did not miss them. Simply: What we do not know, does not exist! No work of any woman? Not one that deserves to be included in art history manuals? Really? I don’t believe it! The Art History Manuals are incomplete, all creative women are missing, but I have needed 23 years to notice their lack and I consider valid the selection of great masters that make up the history of art.

Art is a permanent dialogue between the artist and the physical space. Where we live a sharing relationship with the whole universe. Communicating through art wherever we are and go towards to meet all parts of the world. Art in a global way is composed of common feelings and forms as an unique identity. Painting communicates with all other forms of art, through the elements that form part of it in a whole which is composition. The sounds and rhythms of colors in all their energy and strength lead us to travels of universal and global feelings. It is in an expressionist and sentimental way with a critical spirit and feeling of research that the painting makes sense for me as a whole.

Sonia Vecchio

The artist Sonia Vecchio, after completing her studies in Fashion Design in Milan, moved to Rome, where she is living and working in the artistic field and clothing sector. Her training in the fashion world affects her refined chromatic choices, the innovative textures, her constant research between colour and matter, between shape and volume. The most diverse elements join the color on the canvas in a new and amplified form of expression, which is neither painting nor sculpture, but a new means of artistic communication. Her multi-material works acquire a three-dimensional, tactile and volumetric solidity which creates a synergy captivating the onlookers. She exhibits at both a national and an international artistic level.

Her last show “Touch! Materic Appearances” is an invitation to interact with the works: indeed, they are sometimes interactive. In this journey, the Universe is the leading theme where the floating planets are the imaginary places of fantasy and the unreal world. The viewers are invited to touch the assemblages: tri-dimensional, volumetric and tactile effects; they are not passive observers but active interpreters of the work itself. Strong shades of colors and metallic nuances aiming at the expression of symbologies which, through the viewer’s eyes, emerge as a subjective perception. What appears is not always what it really is. Muriel Massin

Muriel Massin is a french painter living and working in Paris. She has trained at the Studios of Paris, école des Beaux Arts and more specifically at the studios of Antoni Ros Blasco and Martin Bissière. «Invent another world» Like a uncontrollable need, the art is for Muriel Massin a way to express her feelings. It is after having gone to an exhibition of the German expressionists in the Museum of Modern Art, that she buys her first box of paint. Then a determining meeting with a painter suggesting her joining his studio pushed her over the edge. Painting becomes then a passion, a way “to invent another world”. «A happy painting» Qualifying herself of lyric painter, Muriel Massin produces a joyful, radiant work, always in excitement. If the representation was in her early stages in the center of her creation, she quickly turned to an abstract style allowing her to work the texture and the color more than the subject. Envisaging the painting as a involvment of the body, she works on the floor by using the acrylic but also the pencils, the pastels and the sticks of oil, and incorporates collages of newspapers and pieces of poster. Her paintings often represent an atmospheric phenomenon, such as the appearance of the sun in a grey sky, the rain or the thunderstorms. Her exhibitions: Over the years, Muriel stood out in the national but also international stage, and multiplied the exhibitions, in France as well as in Germany, in Belgium, in Russia, in Spain, in Italy and in Brazil, Japan and China. muriel281@live.fr www.murielmassin.com

Although I surrender to the challenge of expressing my art through words and seek refuge in the following quote from artist Georgia O’Keeffe, where she propounds… “I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.” … Nevertheless, I’ll still put my verbosity on test. Paul Gauguin a famous post-impressionist artist stated: “Seek art and abstraction in nature by dreaming in the presence of it.” This perception nurtures my intention to create work that holds the viewer, asking them be present in the moment, allowing themselves to be drawn into the details of the piece. Each of my abstract acrylic paintings explores expressive gestures, rhythms, textures, and layering which often creates the illusion of energy and movement. Living in the beautiful land of Pakistan, Malaysia and now Oman, my paintings are depictions of my soul... a visual manifestation of my emotions and inner wordless dialog with my spirit, and my Creator. Allured and fascinated by sights and sounds of nature, the moods create a strong emotional response in my soul. Like therapy, the creative process serves as my vehicle for reflection, transformation, and healing... letting out what is deep inside me. The harmony in the flow of my brushwork is a manifestation of the influence of my surroundings. The compositions are nothing but my transcendence from the worldly phase to spiritual, demonstrating, in each stroke, my connection with my creator. My prayer is that my art will bring praise, honor and glory to Him while engaging the viewer in a process of reflection, reminding one of His presence and the bliss that every time surrounds us, no matter whatever the circumstances... and that we are loved by Him and are never alone.

As said by Dominique De Menil: “We are cluttered with images, and only abstract art can bring us to the threshold of the divine.” Shahnila Mughees shahnila.mughees@gmail.com

Isabel Pérez D. / Anna Tonna

A music concert of contemporary works for classical piano, mezzo soprano, and small chamber ensemble written by members of the New York Women Composers Association (USA) and the Asociación de Mujeres en la Música (Spain) as well as students of the New York Philharmonic Very Young Composers Program. The initiative is led by American mezzo soprano and 2007-2008 Fulbright to Spain, Anna Tonna and Spanish classical pianist Isabel Pérez Dobarro. This concert aims to encourage cross cultural dialogue between women creators, in this case in the field of music, between the two gender specific associations in Spain and New York City respectively. Exposure of works by women composers in both countries is critical for the success and prestige within the field, where there is currently a large gender gap. This concert presents a platform for female composers from Spain and the United States to interact and exchange ideas on music aesthetics, impact of their works as well as mutually helping each other to gain this much needed exposure. In addition, the concert showcases two works by high school aged female students from the New York Philharmonic Very Young Composers, giving a multi-generational dimension to the project as well as promoting these young girls’ early involvement in classical music composition.

The project has already been presented to wide critical and audience acclaim both in Madrid, at the American Space in Madrid on May 25, 2017, and at the Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center in New York City on January 24, 2018. The famed NY critic John Osburn stated in his review of the New York Concert: “I thoroughly enjoyed this concert in which two men, Shakespeare and Cervantes, were celebrated by a legion of musically distinguished women, including Isabel Pérez Dobarro and Anna Tonna. (…) Consuelo Díez´s Ser y Tiempo, a piano solo played with astonishing insight by Isabel Pérez Dobarro (…). Alexa Babakhanian´s Las Damas de Don Quijote (2005-2011) directly followed Ser y tiempo (…) Nan Maro Babakhanian and Anna Tonna gave each tale a distinct tone and carachter, with touches of flamenco and other Spanish forms grounding the songs in placce and tradition. (…) Marga Richter´s Two Sonnets (2007) and Mary Ann Joyce The Raven Himself is Hoarse (2016) (…) beautifully executed by Tonna and Pérez. (…) Pamela Sklar´s The Chains of Love set to Cervantes´poem Las Cadenas del amor brought on flutes (…) to acccompany Tonna and Pérez and open the superb second half (…). The program at Bruno Walter Auditorium began with two pieces from high school students in the New York Philharmonic Very Young Composers Program, Sunflower by Madeleine Schmidt, and Beauty and Magic by Cassandra Stevens, each for piano and flute They well deserved the accomplished playing of Pérez, Sklar, and Falzon.” (Women in Music, Osburnt: Dispatches from a life seared by the art, http://osburnt. com/women-in-music/) Spanish critic Soledad Bordás stated that the concert showed “the highest level of intelligence, wisdom, and artistry. (…) Isabel Pérez was at the piano the whole time, using her technique to portray the different styles accurately depicting what the music asked for: drama, laughter, pragmatism, terror, and love; with elegance, decision, and beauty of sound. (…) In this concert, (Anna Tonna) captivated us again with her beautiful voice and expressive singing, capable of protraying any style or genre.” The next concert of the initiative will take place in Madrid this upcoming Fall.

E I GHT IN ABSTRACT I O N “Containment and rapture” Female brushstrokes

In the name of painting, one receives the other or goes to visit the neighbor, this exchange most of the times confirms the identity and the place itself, essentially in the pictorial universe. On the path of this search eight Jalisco women venture to the old continent to exhibit 16 pieces whose chromatic forms go from the feeling of the Apollonian dream to the drunkenness of Dionysian music. Carmen Avalos, a woman with eyes that reveal the color of her vibrant soul, presents two pieces of lyrical abstraction in red chromatics, which through her brushstrokes transmit a vehement exaltation of the thirsting passion to discover life in its suggestive forms. The presence of the circle reveals the search for the perfect, for the round, for the universe that has no interstices and that is dimly outlined in white as a subtle suggestion of light, as is hope, but the thin and marked black lines let us perceive the ominousness of a finite existence. Conchita Rivera, a docile woman with life, seeks to reflect her harmony with the world through morphological forms where the predominance of oranges, yellows and blues are captured by her brush to be suspended on the white canvas. The forms of both pieces of organic abstraction are subtle, suggesting in shading the disagreement of the body, the liberation of forms, the ephemerality of life, that hidden or between-seen, heard as passing in the wind beats. The presence of black wavy lines with chaotic stripes creates the illusion of sustained movement of that always stalking anxiety. Georgina Arce, woman of water and earth, which presents two pieces where the colors dim yellow and a blue matt predominate, getting in the canvases thin layers of paint that give way to the dream of a silent world that allows the contemplation of vital details and fleeting like the flutter of a hummingbird or the flight of a butterfly shaped in vaporous drippings, which show the illusions of the world, the movement by which life is cruel to perpetuate itself in small things. Shadows in white superimposed as the foam to the sea and black spots marked on the path as footprints, witnesses of the feel. Mari Carmen Souza, divergent woman, presents two contrasting paintings with each other. For where blue predominates, there is a sober chromatic universe that produces calmness and inner peace in the spectator, whereas where yellow dominates there is a vortex of thoughts without end. With a trace of metal in which there is no chance but construction, masses of color are generated with suggestive forms, which lead to the journey of imagination and association. These strokes are interior gestures that are revealed to the viewer as intangible, but from which you have certainty of what has been lived.

Perenzalez, desiring woman, of determined brushwork, of force in the metallic line that shares two pieces with the presence of semidefinite geometric figures that later evolve to the deformity as representing the imperfection of the being when she loves. Her paintings are testimony to that irredeemable dependence on the resistance of the other, through thick lines and the transposition of geometric figures, with some touches and red lines that abruptly border a black blot transmitting a sense of pain, because it makes dark what should be pure light in loving. Rosana Zuber, woman of tradition, who through her brush, lets us feel a dreamlike universe where everything is beautiful but nothing is clear, where the soft lines, thick and undulating, transmit the energy of old stories that once had an incomparable radiance. His paintings present the colors with elegance and sumptuousness, thus leading the viewer to an endless contemplation, to a being of eternal continuity, seeking in creation to reinvent reality. The balance and composition of this painter is a nod for those who want to find answers. Tamis Leal Barceló, woman of hope and ideals, shows two pieces where the white predominates, but the color becomes fundamental and this is translated after achieving in the canvases the superposition of figures and symbols delineated with thin layers of paint, almost always matt, which They convey to the viewer a sense of volatility, of helplessness as life. In the total composition, the line is presented as the element producing a sudden rupture, thus creating a work of forceful composition.

Verónica Jiménez, woman of paths, who talks through the brush with the natural elements of the world, that from a powerful barrier of green glimpse the need of beauty does not manifest to the eyes, only to the soul. The shared brushstroke is so strong and powerful that it seems that nature inhabits the creative woman. The straight and wavy marks that appear as in apparent movement create in each painting a highly expressive pictorial space. Possibly the viewer when facing the set (or unit) of the pieces of this exhibition, have a moment of meditation on the relationships of thinking and seeing, on the intelligible and the sensitive, but especially on the invisible of the visible and thus each painter in her creation seeks to safeguard, embalm, expose or exhibit the horizon of his aesthetic thought.

Consuelo (Visser) Plaza Aranda, has developed her career as a sensitive artist and she likes to experiment. This approach requires an exchange of communication between the work and the viewer. “Her rich language develops through a conscious experimentation using media as Surrealism. Her search doesn’t stops at a theatrical stage and travels insatiable through a fantasy world until what she has learned, inside the imaginary tour of the canvas, is presented as a recognizable form holder of a great emotional weight. Her creativity resides in the organization of her feelings, and for this purpose the technique is only a mean to perceive these senses ” (Dr. Marc Puig Tebar) Consuelo (Visser) Aranda currently lives and travels between the Netherlands and Spain, where he spends his time teaching and painting. His constant traveling between the two countries gives her a vital creativity to paint.

FRAN BORREGO

I am Francisco de Asís Borrego de la Rubia. Madrid. Generation of 82. Experiences and gave me life. Also the value of art and her passion for him. Making my passion as well. Instilled in me values such as curiosity, the approach of the “whys” and “wheres” and the desire to always be better. I always knew that art would be part of my life. Having studied advertising and loved the cinema, my influences are very photograms. When I paint or take a photograph, I try to immortalize a feeling, a thought, an action. In short, I seek to be the narrator of a story. For this, I do not limit myself to a single technique. I can use: temperas, acrylics, inks, enamels, varnishes, lacquers, cakes, tea, coffee, etc. I have participated in more than 50 exhibitions around the world. (Rome, Milan, Paris, Oporto, Amsterdam, Argentina, New York, Dallas, Ecuador, California, Madrid, Barcelona, Jaen, Zaragoza, etc). Currently, I dedicate my time to create. To design. To paint. To expose my work. I also do commissioned work.. I am the creator and curator of this "Experiencias" Project. www.franciscoborrego.com franborregoart@gmail.com https://www.instagram.com/franborregoart//
