F. THIENPONT Bordeaux Blanc is made out of vineyards located in the north of the Entre-Deux-Mers area. As Thienpont family is working in the vineyard and implementing strict production procedures, they rely on a particularly modern equipment which allows high precision in wine making techniques. With such ambitious specifications, a white Bordeaux that fulfils their expectation is produced.
F. THIENPONT, BORDEAUX BLANC REGION Bordeaux, France GRAPE VARIETY 100% Sauvignon Blanc TASTING NOTES: The wine possesses a great freshness, fruit and pleasure, brought by the highly aromatic Sauvignon.
PESONAL NOTES:
Located in the appellation Bordeaux plateaux, this vineyard selected by F.THIENPONT, is monitored all year round. Their work in the vineyard (leaf removal, etc...) is always based on two major concerns which are optimal maturity and perfect sanitary standards. Regarding the vinification, principles are simple, this means gentle extractions in order to respect the fruit and produce a tender and fresh style of wine, with great flavour.
F. THIENPONT, BORDEAUX ROUGE REGION Bordeaux, France GRAPE VARIETIES 95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc TASTING NOTES: F.Thienpont Bordeaux is a deep garnet red wine in colour with a fine intensity. With a beautiful perfumed bouquet of red fruits, delicate spicy notes bring additional charm. This wine is full and aromatic on the palate.
PESONAL NOTES:
Château La Prade, located in the town of Saint-Cibard, largely on the limestone plateau but also on hillsides, was bought in 2000 by Nicolas Thienpont. It was spared by the frost phenomenon of April 2014 Merlots are predominant and dense, but always with this note of freshness that brings the limestone rock.
CHAUTEAU LA PRADE REGION Bordeaux, France GRAPE VARIETIES 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc TASTING NOTES: An appealling deep violet colour,very fragrant and spicy on the nose, opulent and round with sumptuous autumn fruit flavours
on
the
palate-a
mix
of
blackberries
and
boysenberries with a touch of wild herbs; nice spicy finish.
PESONAL NOTES:
L’Etoile comes from a selection of blocks situated in the center of Lalande de Pomerol appellation. From pruning to ground ploughing, From canopy management to harvest, winemaking and blending, this vineyard is precisely followed at each key points of production.
L'ETOILE REGION Lalande de Pomerol G PE VARIETIES Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon TASTING NOTES: This has a lovely, fleshy feel, with dark raspberry and boysenberry fruit, laced with smoldering tobacco and backed by a lingering dark licorice note. Shows good depth for the vintage, and is nicely refined.
PESONAL NOTES:
The second wine of Vieux Château Certan is named after a vineyard parcel between Certan and Le Pin. Thirty percent of the production of Vieux Château Certan is destined for La Gravette, notably the young vines and the Cabernets.
La Gravette de Certan (by Vieux Chateau Certan, Pomerol) REGION Pomerol GRAPE VARIETIES Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon TASTING NOTES: Lovely, with a stream of raspberry confiture flowing through, while light mint, star anise and black tea notes weave in and out. The long and refined finish has a light mineral accent, while the fruit sails on.
