The Return of Chef to Go

Season two is going to be binge-worthy! Our most popular piece of pandemic residue, the Chef to Go takeout returned with its season premiere on Monday, September 13. Serving reasonably priced meals for couples and families four nights per week from Monday to Thursday, this program proved a lifesaver for busy families, people on the go, and those who would rather leave the cooking to someone else. Don’t forget to look for the special holiday bundles at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. With special wine pricing and other offers available only at the Chef to Go portal, it’s worth checking it out and letting us do the cooking. Check out the Chef To Go menus online at arbutusclub.com. Order on our website or app, then swing by Chef to Go portal on P1 of the Parkade for pick-up.

Catering Returns

The party organizers here at the Club have been given the green light by Dr. Bonnie Henry and the Province, so it’s high time to make up for lost party plans! Whether it’s a milestone birthday, an anniversary, a wedding shower or the annual holiday office party, the Catering team is ready to help you plan the event. With multiple spaces from patios to boardrooms, we have the right venue for what you have in mind.

Don’t delay, the rooms are booking fast and only available until December 31, 2021. We will be starting our longawaited banquet and catering room refresh and renovation on January 1, 2022 and expect that it will close our thirdfloor catering space until May 1, 2022. Contact Catering & Member Services Coordinator, Karen Chew, at kchew@ arbutusclub.com or 604-269-8824 and she will take care of all the arrangements for your event.

New Fridges and Display Unit in The Bistro

To support the growing demand and popularity of the Heat and Eat and Grab and Go programs, we have purchased a new centre island display unit to replace the old salad bar in The Bistro. The new display offers much more space for an expanded range of products. The new offerings will be packaged in sealed, easily discernible packaging to make assured choices and to ensure the safety of all members' food selections. We have also purchased two new fridges to store our core Grab and Go items so that we have more, adequate back up of best-selling item. In response to the popularity of these quick service items for the busy Club member. These new units will be installed in October, just in time for the busy fall and winter season.

New Outdoor Awning on The Bistro Deck

In response to the ever-increasing demands on the space confines of The Bistro, we are installing a new outdoor convertible space on The Bistro patio. The new structure will provide covered seating of approximately 48 seats and will be available for use year-round. The area will have its own separate heat and lighting controls with the ability to transform it into an open-air space during the warmer months. A great place for adults and kids alike, the extra seating will be welcomed by all members during those busy times in The Bistro when everyone is looking for a place to sit and enjoy a quick bite before moving on with their day. Installation is scheduled to be completed in early December.

The Holiday Mystery Wine Box is Back

Due to the overwhelming demand, the Holiday Mystery Wine Box is back! A $400 value for only $300, the Mystery Wine Box provides fun, value, and intrigue under the Christmas tree, all in one cardboard container. Filled with 12 delectable wines carefully selected by our Director of Food and Beverage, Don Robinson, each case is fabulous and a good fit for the holiday season. Your box could contain one of the two coveted Golden Bottles. Just like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the golden tickets – or in this case, bottles – will be found by the lucky winner of this year’s wine lottery. Perhaps a bottle of 1982 Petrus or 2013 Dominus could be hiding under your tree without you even knowing it? A Christmas miracle indeed. Orders for the Holiday Mystery Wine Box will begin on Thursday, December 9 at arbutusclub.com or the Club app. If you have any questions, please contact Director of Food & Beverage, Don Robinson, at drobinson@arbutusclub.com or 604-219-0501. ♦
