Hichki starring Rani Mukerji sees the acclaimed actress play the character Naina Mathur who has a nervous of system disorder, Tourette syndrome that forces an individual to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds. The inspiring movie focuses on turning disadvantages into opportunities and staring down at challenges that life throws at one and ultimately winning over them. It is also a subtle
reminder about discrimination that exists in our society and has become a part
of our daily lives. It highlights this through the story of Naina, who faces discrimination from our society that firmly believes she cannot be a teacher because of her disorder. A meaningful story demanded an intriguing title that would serve as a metaphor to challenges, weaknesses, prejudice and social stigma. Director Siddharth P Malhotra says, “It was quite a task to figure out the perfect title of the movie. It needed to be sensitive, thought provoking, intriguing as well as

have a direct connect to the theme of the film. It was Adi (Aditya Chopra) who nailed the title of the film. He took a few days to deliberate on the same and when he told Maneesh (Sharma) and me his suggestion, we were ecstatic. Nothing could have described the film better than Hichki. It’s uncomplicated, it’s a strong metaphor to discrimination and it’s an extremely colloquial and relatable word.” Hichki, a feel-good entertaining film, is set to touch the hearts of audiences when it releases on 23rd February 2018.

he world of football is mourning a true hero, a legend, a role model and some would say a game changer for diversity of football today. Hundreds of people from ex-footballers, supporters, family paid tribute to the former West Bromwich legend Cyrille Regis 59 who died suddenly, on 14 January. A celebration of his life was held at the Hawthorns Stadium where he started his football journey – and what a journey he had. His family entered the ground to Chris Love singing Bring Him Home from the musical Les Miserables. Fans paid tribute with chants of "Nice one Cyrille, nice one son", and "There's only one Cyrille Regis". Regis's widow, Julia Regis, told the crowd: "Cyrille treated everyone like they were the most important person he ever met." She received a standing ovation after paying tribute to her "lovely, caring amazing husband". continued on page 2
