A ROMANTIC COMEDY SET FOR WORLDWIDE RELEASE THIS VALENTINE Mahi NRI (My Beloved Non-Resident Indian) is set for release on Friday 10th February 2017. Primarily set in Birmingham, it's a realistic multi-cultural romantic comedy centered on student Sherry (Hardy Sandhu) who comes to UK to become an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) in order to please his girlfriend's mother. After all, only a man from the UK is good enough for her daughter. Film Director Gaurav Bavdankar said, "Most of the filmmakers from India want to go and film in London. I wanted my main characters to be based in my home town, Birmingham. Birmingham and the Black Country have range of locations to offer...Also the music is going to be loved by all as it has got the best combination of composers, lyricists and singers”.
For Indians, the UK is still seen as the place where the streets are paved with gold, where all British Asians have huge sprawling houses and big cars. Lead actor Sandhu says, "I worked hard to prep myself for the part of Sherry, who is a happy-golucky guy who doesn’t have a care in the world, until the reality of him losing his girlfriend dawns upon him. I thoroughly enjoyed working in UK, it was a blast, it was also great meeting people from all walks of life and loved the locations." Film Producer Ranbir Kaloya said, “I fell in love with the story and characters the first time I read the script. The film to a degree is the reality of what happens in India and the UK. In most cases, Indian parents want men from the UK to marry their daughters so they have a better way of life. This film

January 30th saw more than five hundred people gathered in Victoria Square, Birmingham, to protest against the Trump ban and his proposed state visit. Hordes of protesters turned up outside the Council House in defiance of the

exempting Brits with dual citizenship with those seven countries, her extension of an invitation of a state visit for the billionaire president has been met with huge backlash. Continued on Page 2
