Theatr Clwyd What’s On Guide Sep 2018 – Jan 2019 theatrclwyd.com 01352 701521
Welcome The last year has seen us explore new spaces and scale new heights – from a glitzy, immersive experience in a semi-derelict pub in Mold, to a controversial new musical about free speech, from the filmic gems in our intimate cinema to over 32,000 people watching our acclaimed panto. Thank you for seeing our shows, for volunteering, for telling friends about what we do and for donating. Your support is essential in securing the theatre's future for generations to come. We hope to see you soon.

Thick As Thieves
by Katherine Chandler
Lord Of The Flies
By William Golding Adapted by Nigel Williams On a remote island, a new society is being created. A group of evacuated school children have crash landed. There are no adults to tell them what to do. They’ve ripped up the rule book and are starting all over again. But it’s not long before their utopia descends into a nightmarish hell.
World Première Two women from very different worlds: Karen has built a picture-perfect life while Gail struggles to keep hers together. When, out of the blue, Gail re-enters Karen’s life she brings everything Karen has run from... This tense, revealing play explores what it means to care for one another and asks who, in a time of increasing disconnect, we expect to look after us.

The Sound of Music
A Wounded Peace
One of the greatest musicals of all time, the true story of the world-famous singing Von Trapp family, features Edelweiss, My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Climb Every Mountain, So Long Farewell, and of course, The Sound of Music.
November 11th 1918. The guns fall silent on the battlefields of Europe. At a military convalescent hospital in Leeswood Hall, Mold, traumatised soldiers, nurses and residents receive the news that the fighting is finally over. Is this the time for survivors to make sense of their experience of war? More to the point, how will they face an uncertain future in a world now changed for ever?
