Welcome to the digital version of The Bikers Trading Post The Bikers Trading Post is now being published monthly as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes, we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. This month we are putting in two calendars, one vertical and one horizontal. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slideshow from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. At this time we have listed over 415 events past and present for 2015 in Western Pa. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost Please check it out and friend us, and please feel free to share anything on that page you want to. Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place. November is a very slow month for the bike life. If you have anything happening please let me know at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com We are looking for people who go to a lot of the events and would like to do sales and also cover a few events. We are trying to keep the areas to about one county each, so after you get set up you could cover it in 2 or 3 days a month. We are offering a great sales incentive so if you are looking for a little money on the side please get in touch with us. We will also be looking for bikes to feature in the magazine along with models for on the bikes.
Rambling Thoughts This has been a great year so far and I can not wait to see what the rest of it brings. In February I was honored to be at the World of Wheels, The Progressive International Motorcycle Show and the Easyriders Custom Bike Show. I saw many old friends at them and I also got to meet some new ones. I have always worked in the public and covered many different types of events for magazines, commercial clients and people. These events consisted of everything from The Miss America contest to a president, concerts and many situations that were happy and many that were sad. I have photographed every aspect in life from birth to death. Being with this magazine I have seen the best of the best in people. I have seen so many people that go out of their way to help others and want nothing in return. March brought around a different type of events than the last few months. I spent a lot of time at the local HarleyDavidson in store events, a few benefits, a lot of meetings to help plan upcoming events and to top it off, I was invited to the Bikers United Dinner on March 18th. Rich Shira put this together and it is something that everyone doing events needs to attend. I am sure it will grow next year. It was great being at the smaller and more local events and spending a lot more time one on one with the local people. We were hit hard by a hater this month that tried to shut down a lot of our social media. My thought is that other people are seeing that we are doing what the people want, and we are growing a lot faster than they are. We are read by more people than any printed motorcycle magazine covered in Western Pennsylvania. We are growing because we are local people doing for the local people. Follow us on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost and next week we will be releasing our other social media pages. Thank you Barbie for your help. So, thank you to the haters, you only helped us in the long run. On to the future. If you are running a non-profit event, we will be happy to post your information for free. Please get a hold of us on that for more information.
Last on the list, summer is coming, and we are thrilled to be able to come to as many events as we can. If you would like to have us at your event, please let us know. We will be happy to do whatever we can to cover it. I am sorry but we are limited to how many events we can cover Anyone that is going to an event and wants to share it with us on a day. If you would like to be published and cover please e-mail us at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com. If you events yourself, please let us know. Also, if you have a would like to join us in sales, covering events and getting bike that you would like featured, or are a model who published please let us know. would like to be featured, please let us know. Happy riding and keep the wheels on the ground. thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com
2016 Bikers United Dinners While at the Butler A.B.A.T.E. Swap Meet I was invited to the March 18th Bikers United dinner by Rich Shira. This is a great get together by people and groups that are trying to organize upcoming events. There was a great turn out and I foresee this getting bigger every year. Speakers were Lowell from CMA, Dale from The Pine Valley Camp, Rod from the Alliance of Bikers, Bill from Lawrence County A.B.A.T.E., Amy from the Red Knights, Rich who organized the event and is promoting the Lawrence County Blessing of the Bikes. They even talked me into coming up and telling about The Bikers Trading Post. That was a real job considering I just came from working three eleven-hour days out of town without even a chance to stop home. I can not wait till next year to join in again and hang out with all of the great people who were there. A Friday night of good food, great company and a lot of information. They also have a cash bar if interested.
Easyriders Tour 2016 I had the chance to be at the Easyriders Custom Motorcycle show when it rolled into Columbus Ohio on February 20th and 21st. It was an all ages, family friendly event that had some of the wildest and most creative builds in the motorcycle industry along with some great old school builds and antique bikes. This show is is always looked on as the greatest display of custom motorcycles from some of the top backyard builders. It gives them a chance to show their names and compete with some of the largest names in the bike building industry. There was a lot to see there like playing on and off all weekend was Live Music by the Fryed Brothers Band known across the globe as the quintessential biker band, and for true biker entertainment they had Lisa Ligon and the Purrfect Angelz. Known as the “Queen of Country Music Videos,” Lisa Ligon acted as the Master of Ceremonies at all Easyriders Bike Shows. The Purrfect Angelz, who are most-recently recognizable as the “Flaunt Girls” at Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis [which tragically burned down in the fall of 2015]. Indian Larry who was a true legend in the custom motorcycle world with some of the most mind-bending one-off builds ever created was featured with a selection of his bikes and Paul Yaffe and his crew displayed a multitude of custom bagger parts for sale as well as the debut of “Rubber Knucky,” a 1940's knucklehead that they’ve fused with the signature design that’s made Bagger Nation an industry-wide leader.

Blessing of the Bikes New Castle, PA Photos from April 26, 2015 The Bikers Trading Post has attended the Blessing of the Bikes downtown New Castle for several years now. It was started by Rich Shira and grows every year. It’s a local event sponsored by several organizations, including A.B.A.T.E., and last year more than 300 people attended. Last year, Gary Hasson played Amazing Grace on the bagpipes, and all of the bikers in attendance held hands in a circle around the Diamond, and up one block as Rich started off the event with a blessing over the crowd, followed by a blessing from Bill Bloom. Finally, a group of local pastors made their way through the crowed blessing individual bikes and their riders. Music was provided by the Good News Band, with several generations of riders present to enjoy the event, with food and entertainment all day. The day couldn’t have been better, but we’re all hoping it will be even better this year.
See you there April 24th 2016
New Castle Harley-Davidson started their Spring Kickoff with an open house, Irish food, green beer and a blood drive. Good job to Bill for putting it all together on March 19th. I stopped out to see Bill... Well in reality, to see the girls, but they put on a good spread for everyone. My only question is what is the difference from German Sour kraut and Irish Kraut? Once again, Bill had the Pittsburgh Blood Bank draining everyone. Spring was in the air, because people were dealing on new bikes in between the festivities. It is always a good time at New Castle Harley-Davidson during their events.

Humor to relieve stress Feeling Pretty There once was a girl who wasn't feeling very pretty so she went to a genie to make her pretty. The genie told her that to make her feel pretty, he would make it so that every time someone apologized to her her boobs would increase by one size. So the girl is walking down the street and someone bumps into her and says, "Oh, I'm sorry," and the woman's boobs went up one size. Then someone accidentally stepped on her foot and said, "I'm sorry," and her boobs got one size bigger. Then she's walking down the street and a man from India bumps into her and says, "Oh my god! A thousand apologies!"
Always By His Side This woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months, yet she had stayed by his bedside every single day. One day, when he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer. As she sat by him, he whispered, eyes full of tears, "You know what? You have been with me through all the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you stayed right here. When my health started failing, you were still by my side... You know what?" "What dear," she gently asked, smiling as her heart began to fill with warmth. "I think you're bad luck....."

When the husband walks in to take a shower the doorbell rings. So the woman goes to answer the door ... It is there next door neighbor (Stan) she answers the door Stan says " ill give u $800 if u drop that towel" so she did and Stan gave her $800. $5.00 Thank You A little boy and his grandfather are raking leaves in the yard. The little boy finds an earthworm trying to get back into its hole. He says, "Grandpa, I bet I can put that worm back in that hole." The grandfather replies, "I'll bet you five dollars you can't. It's too wiggly and limp to put back in that little hole." The little boy runs into the house and comes back out with a can of hairspray. He sprays the worm until it is straight and stiff as a board. Then he puts the worm back into the hole. The grandfather hands the little boy five dollars, grabs the hairspray, and runs into the house. Thirty minutes later the grandfather comes back out and hands the little boy another five dollars. The little boy says, "Grandpa, you already gave me five dollars." The grandfather replies, "I know. That's from your grandma." Compliments This 60 year old woman is naked, jumping up and down on her bed laughing and singing. Her husband walks into the bedroom and sees her. He watches her awhile then says, "You look ridiculous, what on earth are you doing?" She says, "I just got my checkup and my doctor says I have the breasts of an eighteen-yearold." She starts laughing and jumping again. He says, "Yeah, right. And what did he say about your 60 yearold ass?" She says, "Well, your name never came up."

The Party will go on, The Ranch will live on On Thursday January 28th what started as a grease fire, The Ranch Restaurant & Lounge in Wayne Township was totally destroyed. The Ranch was one of the true biker bars in Western Pennsylvania. They, along with a faithful following of friends of the motorcycle community, spent many of their days raising hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting local friends, friends of friends and many great causes like St. Jude’s, Children’s Hospital and many more. On Saturday March 26th was a day that many gave back to all of the love and support that Ron and Patty gave for all of these years. A benefit was held at the Wayne Township Fire Hall down the road and was at maximum capacity all day long. It started at 1 PM and ran through the day with the bands starting at 6. They had more donations for the chinese auctions than I have ever seen at any event. It was amazing the support and respect that was shown by so many of the local businesses. I have shot many a weddings at that fire hall and I have never seen the place filled like that. The theme was “ The Party will go on, The Ranch will live on.” As a friend and a customer I want to thank Ron and Patty for all they have done over the years, and wish them the best of luck in the future. Party on! On a final note: thank you to all the first responders that came to help. Firefighters were on the scene from the Ellwood City, Chewton, Wurtemburg-Perry, Frisco-Franklin, Shenango, North Sewickley, Wayne and Slippery Rock township departments.

Lecture I was stopped by the police the other night around 2am and was asked where I was going at that time of night. I replied, “ I’m on my way to a lecture about alcohol abuse and the effect it has on the human body, as well as smoking and staying out late. The officer asked, “Really? Who’s giving a lecture at this time of night?” I said, “That would be my ole lady”

Hopped on down to Hot Metal Harley-Davidson for their Easter Egg Surprise event. There were plenty of childern there to get their photos with the Easter Bunny who was also giving treats. My disapointment was when I found out it was not Rocky as the Bunny, because I bet I could have made him blush clear through the suit. There was plenty of activity happening throughout the shop as people were looking at bikes and sifting through the clothing department. With the sun out and in the low 60's people were really on the move. Hot Metal always puts on a great event with plenty of room to accommodate things. I got to talk to Jason Kukulka in parts and as always it is great to see you and the whole crew working there on this nice day.
McMahon's Harley Davidson St. Pattys Party There is nothing better than when a crazy Irishman puts on a St. Patty’s Party. I went down to McMahon's Harley-Davidson on March 12th for his festive party with great food, green beer, Irish music and Irish cheer. Oh, did I mention green beer? The weather was fabulous and people were hanging out both inside and outside, which is good, because I really do not know if Brian could have fit everyone in his building. There was a group from my hangout that went down for the day including two beautiful ladies. There was a huge turnout of people riding bikes and some were even taking demo rides. Brian always puts on a great event, but this one really seems to be in his blood.

My name is Ashton and I am 22 years old. I have always wanted to be a model because I want to be that girl that other girls look up to, I first fell in love with modeling at a fairly young age just goofing around with my mom and her new camera. It then turned into a passion and a dream, something that I wanted to not just accomplish but succeed at. I have run Track/Cross country all through high school so drive and determination is something I've grown up with. Right now I do part time promotional work for Bar Smart, I have also worked for Streamline Promotions and Biker Chick Lawyer, Clique Vodka, Jim Beam and a few other alcohol companies as well as Harley-Davidson. But my favorite part of the modeling world is feeling inspired in front of a camera and connecting one on one with a photographer! I am willing to travel for paid work, I am currently only doing paid work and can be reached by personal message or email dolan.ashton@yahoo.com, the best way to reach me is by email but I also have a Facebook fan page I can be reached at as well. Photography By Jim Nocera, Assistant Chrissy LaFace

I want to thank Keith for getting a hold of me with information on his bike to be shot. It made for a great match for Ashton for the photos. Also want to thank Joe Zamiska for the use of his location along with his 1978 Buick Skyhawk and Chrissy La Face for working as an assistant photographer. out and helping. Poor old fool Poor old fool thought the well-dressed gentleman as he watched an old man fish in a puddle outside a pub. So he invited the old man inside for a drink. As they sipped their whiskeys, the gentleman thought he’d humor the old man and asked, “So how many have you caught today?” The old man replied, “You’re the eighth.
American Legion Riders 5th Annual Motorcycle Swapmeet On March 6th, the American Legion Riders held their 5th annual Motorcycle Swap meet in Hookstown, Pa. They were blessed with really nice weather for the day and a nice turn out. There was a nice selection of goods from fenders and lights to life insurance. Like so many of the smaller swap meets, it is a situation where you can meet with good people and catch up on the happenings in everyone’s lives. There was a steady crowd and the vendors seemed to be doing very well.
