Rambling Thoughts June brings out all the fun for this community, with Hazen being one of my favorite local events haven been on the 16th, 17th and 18th, and Thunder in the Valley the 22nd to the 25th, along with many poker runs every weekend, and bike nights happening every night of the week. We are now trying to have a larger presence at the events and cover a lot more of them. I have no idea where the time went this month. I am already planning the events for July. The biggest is the Bikefest and Roar on the Shore. I will try to be there 3 or 4 days. I ran into an old friend at Thunder in the Valley. Chris, from Cycle Source Magazine. I haven't seen him in about 10 years. I was the original photographer for them 20 years ago. WOW, time flies! We have both done a lot in the past ten years. It is amazing how time flies and the good memories stay. The funny one for me is that every time the police were involved at a photo shoot of a motorcycle, Chris was somehow involved. We've really got some crazy stories that we could share! Now on to other things. We have some new things going to be happening and I will be announcing it on our Facebook page first, probably just after this is released for the month. Keep your eyes on it. Our numbers climb all the time. We have several issues of the online magazine that have hit 14,000 views. Our Facebook page is nonstop, pushing 30,000 hits a month. Last week I posted the flyer for Trinity's Run and that was the fourth time I have posted it. In the first 21 hours we had 3,050 hits and by the day of the event we had 3,973 hits. Keep tuned in for daily updates on what is happening by visiting us on Facebook We are read by more people than any printed motorcycle magazine covering Western Pennsylvania. We have had several issues viewed by over 13,000 people. We are growing because we are local people, writing for the local people. Follow us on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost . On to the future. If you are running a non-profit event, we will be happy to post your information for free. Please get a hold of us on that for more information. Last on the list, summer is coming, and we are thrilled to be able to come to as many events as we can. If you would like to have us at your event, please let us know. We will be happy to do whatever we can to cover it. I am sorry but we are limited to how many events we can cover on a day. If you would like to be published and cover events yourself, please let us know. Also, if you have a bike that you would like featured, or are a model who would like to be featured, please let us know. thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com

Scooters Bike Night Erie, PA. is always a great ride destination. I spent a few days up there working on different things and did a quick stop down at Scooters, 2802 Old French Road. Their Tuesday bike nights offer free Smith's hotdogs and beer specials. A local charity receives the proceeds every week. When I stopped there was a great crowd with some real nice bikes. As always, the crowd in Erie will treat you with respect.

It was caller Roger's Run. Great weather and the great cause brought together a great group of people with 142 bikes participating in the run and many more people who came to attend the dinner after. This 105 mile ride started at the American Legion Post 432 in Wheatland and stopped at some of Roger's favorite locations, including The Crystal Lake Inn and The Sugar Lake Inn. Dinner was provided at the West Middlesex VFW Post 6233 where full military honors were provided.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Wednesday Bike Nights in Erie PA Buffalo Wild Wings at 2099 Interchange Road in Erie, PA along with Harley-Davidson of Erie has what is probably the largest weekly bike night in Western PA at this time. This is the spot for beer and food specials, live music, contests, giveaways, vendors, and the most bikes in town. With the number of bikes here there are always some unique rides to look at. On the day I was there, they had two Miller Lite girls there with giveaways and the band Twisted Lid was there for musical entertainment. Congratulations to H-D of Erie and Buffalo Wild Wings for running a consistently great event.

Cafe Racer Reader s Ride-in Custom Bike Show On a rainy day the 13th of August, with clouds and thunder all day Cafe Racer Magazine held their 9th annual Cafe Racer Reader s Ride-in Custom Bike Show in Sewickley, Pennsylvania s War Memorial Park, with about 700 guests and 60 motorcycles. The threat of storms kept the numbers down but there were a lot of really great bikes that still made it. There everything from vintage British bikes to modern retro customs and even a BMW sidecar rig. The top winners were Peoples Choice and Best Japanese Cafe Andrew Frederick with his seafoam green 1973 CB 350 Honda. Best of Show went to Tyler Stepp for his all-white 1974 CB 360 Honda and Virginian Sean Skinner got Wildest Engineering for his Yamaha Virago 750 custom. This will be a show to watch as it will only continue to grow with the cafe racer and antique motorcycle market booming in this area.

Bikes on the Bay Rum Runners on Dobbins Landing

Downtown Erie offers a real nice, laid back bike night named Bikes on the Bay, at Rum Runners on Dobbins Landing. I was there on June 14th and had the pleasure of listening to Sass Acoustic play some great music with a combination of some old and some new. It was nice to be able to sit by the water and enjoy some great food and drinks while listening to them in a nice, familyfriendly event. So, if you are in Erie on a Wednesday evening, be sure to ride on in for the fun, with prizes, contests and giveaways on the Bay. This event is also sponsored by Off Road Express.

Jergel's Rhythm Grille Tuesday Night Bike Night I was informed that Barbie from Mirth Promotions was going to be at Jergel's Rhythm Grille Tuesday night bike night to sell her Tree of Hope tickets. Knowing that Jergel s at 103 Slade Lane, Warrendale, PA will always have a great bike night, and the chance to spend a little time with Barbie was all I needed to take the trip. Val from WDVE was there along with a great group of bikers. There were Miller Lite specials and some really great food specials. As always, the food was great here. Once again, there were some great bikes to walk around and look at with a lot of friendly people. The staff at Jergel s is always top notch, too. Thank you all. Check out here for all the upcoming events at Jergel's Rhythm Grille. http://jergels.com/calendar/

Jergel's Rhythm Grille Tuesday Night Bike Night

A reprint from 2016

August 6th brought us the second annual Brews, Bands and Bikes event that is held on the Historic Mercer County Courthouse Square. It had the best selection of antique, vintage and custom motorcycles that I have ever seen in one show. It has doubled in size from year one and I foresee it to keep on growing. It was a great family-friendly event with live music by Norman Nardini, Memphis Cradle and TC Davis Band and a Craft Beer Tent. The official count for 2016 is 81 bikes registered in the Antique & Classic class and 18 bikes registered in the Modern & Custom class. Not to mention the other 100 or so bikes parked around town that day! Next year's show is planned for August 5th, 2017 so mark your calendars now. My pick for the best of show would have been Craig Bunker s 1934 Harley VL with a sidecar. He knows it has been parked in the family barn from at least 1951 with the plates reading 1945. It was hand painted and looks like at one time it was a police motorcycle because it has the holes for the lights and siren. On a side note his uncle was a Toledo policeman and was killed in a motorcycle accident.

Humor to relieve stress The Old Biker An old biker is sitting on the curb crying his eyes out. A young biker rides up and asks him what's the matter. The old man says, "I own a Harley dealership, I've made millions, I have a great big house, the fastest bike in town and few days back I married a beautiful blonde stripper... She has sex with me every night and can do things to a man you wouldn't believe.... The young biker says, "Man, you have everything I have ever dreamed for in my life. What could be so wrong in your life that you are sitting here crying?" The old man says, "I can't remember where I fuckin live !

Beautiful Young Biker Lady At the Doctors This beautiful biker chick walks into a doctors office and the doctor is bowled over by how stunningly awesome she is. All his professionalism goes right out the window... He tells her to take her pants, she does, and he starts rubbing her thighs. "Do you know what I am doing?" asks the doctor? "Yes, checking for abnormalities." she replies. He tells her to take off her shirt and bra, she takes them off. The doctor begins rubbing her breasts and asks, "Do you know what I am doing now?", she replies, "Yes, checking for cancer." Finally, he tells her to take off her panties, lays her on the table, gets on top of her and starts having sex with her. He says to her, "Do you know what I am doing now?" She replies, "Yes, getting herpes - that's why I am here!

Humor to relieve relieve Humor to stress She Was Pregnant A young lady had just visited her doctor and he informed her that she was pregnant. The young lady had been married for ten years and had wanted a baby very badly. As she sat on the bus, on her way home, she felt that she had to share the good news with someone. The gentleman sitting next to her seemed as good as anyone to share the good news with. "Sir", she said, "I just received the best news you could ever imagine. I have to share it with someone or I'll bust." She told him the news that the doctor had told her about being pregnant. The man shared her enthusiasm as he shared his experience. He said he was a farmer and he had trouble with his hens laying eggs. He stated that he went out to the hen house one morning and all of his hens had laid eggs. He was so happy. He added, "Confidentially, I changed cocks." The newly pregnant woman responded, "Confidentially...so did I!"

A Cowboy at the Bar A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more. The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time." The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona, the other is in Colorado. When we all left our home in Texas, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself." The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there. The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn. One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss." The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs."Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking." "Hasn't affected my brothers though."

Ashley My name is Ashley Fink. I'm 26 years old. I'm a stay at home mom and model. I'm a down to earth small town farm girl. I grew up active as a member on a competition dance team for 10 years. I would describe myself as an adventurous, witty, ambitious, selfless, and independent lady. I am signing a non-exclusive contract with TB Talent & Casting Agency now and plan to sign with others in the near future. My message to aspiring models... Do not think you have to be perfect! I spent years trying to achieve my idea of what perfect was before I even made it public knowledge this was an interest of mine. God gave me the courage I needed to come to this realization so I want to give god the recognition he deserves for creating the woman I have become. I praise him for the opportunities that have been presented and give thanks for the talents he has given me. He has plans I know nothing about but I ask for his blessing as I continue on my journey. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. -Philippians 4:13

Thunder in the Valley Thunder in the Valley has been one of the highlights of my year for the past several years. It s one of the biggest motorcycle events in this part of the country, if not the biggest, but it s truly unique because it s such a public and inclusive event. The entire city of Johnstown joins in for this event. There are many rallies where people buy tickets, and many bike nights that open up to the public, but there aren t really too many events where the whole downtown of a city shuts down the roads so thousands of people can participate and enjoy, whether they brought out their bike for the weekend, or brought their family or even pets out just to talk to people, see the sights, and enjoy the food. When the Grand Thunder Parade got started, it was exciting to see it led by Marines marching in dress uniform. The crowd turns instantly solemn and silent as they march past, with many removing hats and saluting, taking a moment to respect the men and women who serve our country. They were followed by several groups of service members and first responders on bikes. The Budweiser Clydesdales were impressive, pulling a giant wagon. And then we got onto the fun part, the groups of bikes that show exactly how inclusive this event is. Sure, there were the stereotypical bikers. Big guys with beards and long hair riding Harleys with loud pipes. But, there were also groups of women, people on sport bikes, and dozens of people riding three-wheeled bikes. My favorite part of the parade was an entire group that rode through in costume. Santa and Mrs. Claus, Superman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman, and many, many more. This part showed that it s a family-friendly event, and there were plenty of people riding with their kids behind them, with everyone enjoying themselves equally.

Thunder in the Valley This isn t the type of rally that caters to any one specific group, but it stresses how vast and diverse the motorcycle community is, which is really impressive, and it s refreshing to see, at a time where so many people are divided over so many issues. Thunder in the Valley features most of the standard rally vendors. There was everything you could imagine to eat, with people walking around eating everything from nachos to whole turkey legs. This was a major point of interest for me, and I m curious to know- exactly how many turkey legs did they sell over the weekend? Many manufacturers and stores had great displays of new bikes for people to check out, and even test drive. We enjoyed seeing Ducati, Suzuki, Yamaha, Harley-Davidson, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia and more showing off what they have to offer this year. Some of the entertainment for the weekend included 38 Special, Josh Gallagher, and Jasmine Caine. There was plenty of spectacle, as well, with the vintage life thrill show Wall of Death , where people rode Indian and Harley-Davidsons on a vertical wall, sometimes 14 feet over the floor, and ILLConduct was a hit with their stunt riding again, as always. This year, ILLConduct had a new member, a 12 year old who s on his way to becoming one of the greats, and it was very entertaining to see him performing as well as the adults with decades of experience.

Hazen 2017 Hazen, started in 1977, is one of the few true "old style, old time" biker parties that are still around. It a reminder of the old-time biker lifestyle. Two days of beer, craziness and entertainment starting at noon and running 'til 4 AM. I saw a few people that never even got up on Saturday. They always have the best bands of any event around. This year they had Heidi and the Hellcats, Sourmash, Black Widow and Ozone Rangers on Saturday. Sunday brought Sarsaparilla, Halfway to Hell and Quarterstick. Along with the bands they had a great bike show even considering the mud, bike games, people games and the Female/Male Revue. They say what happens at Hazen stays at Hazen, but I saw a lot of photos on the Internet. Along with the entertainment, there were a lot of food booths, along with biker apparel, leather goods, jewelry, and of course, that painter that was happy to paint any bare chests he could find. The beer truck kept flowing all night long. This is one of the most peaceful biker events that I have ever been to. Every year I see plenty of old friends at Hazen, and I always make a bunch of new friends. Already looking forward to next year
