Welcome to the digital version of The Bikers Trading Post The Bikers Trading Post is now being published monthly as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes, we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. This month we are putting in two calendars, one vertical and one horizontal. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slideshow from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. At this time we have listed over 415 events past and present for 2015 in Western Pa. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost Please check it out and friend us, and please feel free to share anything on that page you want to. Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place.
Rambling Thoughts This was the best month for bike events that I can recall in a long time. The weather has been great on the weekends all month long and the number of events were out of this world. I got to meet some of the nicest people and I am sure we helped the community a bit. The highlight for this month was meeting and helping out with the Run for Trinity to raise money for her service dog. It makes you feel so good when a group can come together and help with an event like this. This month had major events like Hazen put on by A.B.A.T.E. and Thunder in the Valley. Also Thunder in the Cascades will be going on over the first weekend of July and also Erie BikeFest and Roar on the Shore will be coming up in the middle of July. We are read by more people than any printed motorcycle magazine covered in Western Pennsylvania. We are growing because we are local people, doing for the local people. Follow us on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost and we will be releasing our other social media pages. Thank you Barbie for your help. On to the future. If you are running a non-profit event, we will be happy to post your information for free. Please get a hold of us on that for more information. Last on the list, summer is coming, and we are thrilled to be able to come to as many events as we can. If you would like to have us at your event, please let us know. We will be happy to do whatever we can to cover it. I am sorry but we are limited to how many events we can cover on a day. If you would like to be published and cover events yourself, please let us know. Also, if you have a bike that you would like featured, or are a model who would like to be featured, please let us know. Happy riding, and keep the wheels on the ground.
Anyone that is going to an event and wants to share it with us thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com please e-mail us at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com. If you would like to join us in sales, covering events and getting published please let us know.
Open House at
Lutz s Leather
I had a great time stopping out at Lutz's Leather on June 4th for their open house. There had to be upwards of 500 people in attendance of this year's open house with a steady stream of people in and out. Don and Barb and their crew hosted the event with music, great food and drinks. They had the largest selection of food I think I have ever seen at an event like this and it was all top notch. Along with the food and drinks, the people were treated to some great discounts, specials on Gerbing, seats and windshields, along with a huge savings on clearance items. I am already looking forward to next year for the grilled chicken.
Stop on out and see them with hours of Tuesday and Thursday 10-6, Wednesday and Friday 10-8, Saturday 10-4, and Sunday 10-3. They are closed on Mondays. They can sew patches on while you wait for $5.00 a patch but call ahead to make sure the sewer is in. They have always been known for great quality on handmade leather saddle bags, swing arm bags, fairing bags and a variety of other handmade bags. With brands like Kuryakyn, Drag Specialties, Tucker Rocky and Mustang seats, they are your one stop shop for all your accessories including foot pegs, floor boards, grips and accessory mounts. Also, see them for a great selection of jackets , vests and chaps with men's sizes ranging from 38 to 74 and a great selection of big and tall. You guys did a great job!

Starting the cook out season with
New Castle Harley-Davidson I joined Bill and the crew at New Castle HarleyDavidson for their start of Summer Cook Off Season. I got there to find what I think was the largest crowd that I have ever seen at his location, and they were all rambling around looking at bikes and accessories and enjoying Bill's famous burgers and hot dogs. Bill had a great event with a DJ, food and drinks ready for when the Grove City VFD Poker Run stopped in. I left before the run, due to other commitments, but I can just imagine the crowd at that time. You did a great job, Bill, on putting on another great event.

The Mystery Kitchen Utensil My collection of vintage kitchen utensils includes one whose intended purpose was always a mystery. It looks like a cross between a metal slotted spoon and a spatula, so I use it as both. When not in use, it is prominently displayed in a decorative ceramic utensil caddy in my kitchen. The mystery of the spoon/spatula was recently solved when I found one in its original packaging at a rummage sale. It s a pooper-scooper. One Reason To Buy A Painting At an art gallery, a woman and her ten-year-old son were having a tough time choosing between one of my paintings and another artist s work. They finally went with mine. I guess you decided you prefer an autumn scene to a floral, I said. No, said the boy. Your painting s wider, so it ll cover three holes in our wall.

Why Can t Coffee Shops Spell Correctly? When asked for his name by the coffee shop clerk, my brother-in-law answered, Marc, with a C. Minutes later, he was handed his coffee with his name written on the side: Cark.

Humor to relieve stress At the bar There's a big conference of beer producers. At the end of the day, all of the presidents of all beer companies decide to have a drink in a bar. The president of 'Budweiser' orders a Bud, the president of 'Miller' orders a Miller Lite, Adolph Coors orders a Coors, and the list goes on. Then the waitress asks Arthur Guinness what he wants to drink, and much to everybody's amazement, Mr. Guinness orders a Coke! "Why don't you order a Guinness?" his colleagues ask. "Naah. If you guys won't drink beer, than neither will I."
Some one I know A drunk stumbles out of the bar and phones the police to report that thieves had been in his car. "They've stolen the dashboard, the steering wheel, the brake pedal, the radio, and even the accelerator," he cries out. However, before the police investigation could start, the phone rings a second time and the same voice came over the line. "Never mind," he said with a hiccup, "I got in the back seat by mistake."
Fight with the wife One night, this guy come into a bar and asks the bartender for a drink. Then he asks for another. This goes on for a half an hour and the bartender gets worried. "What's the matter?" the bartender asks. "My wife and I got into a fight," explained the guy "and now she isn't talking to me for a whole 31 days." After thinking it over in a reassurring tone, the bartender asked. "But, isn't it a good thing that she isn't talking to you?". "Yeah, except today is the last night."
Watch who you pick up at the bar After a long night buying a foxy woman drinks, Joe took advantage by giving her a ride home. After the walk to the door, the woman asked Joe in for a nightcap... One thing led to another and before you know it, Joe was naked. After making great love Joe rolled over, pulled out a cigarette from his jeans and searched for his lighter. Unable to find it, Joe asked the girl if she had one at hand. "There might be some matches in the top drawer," she said. He opened the drawer of the bedside table and found a box of matches sitting neatly on top of a framed picture of another man. Naturally, Joe began to worry. "Is this your husband?" he inquired nervously. "No, silly," she replied, snuggling up to him. "Your boyfriend then?" he asked. "No, not at all," she said, nibbling away at his ear. "Well, who is he then?" demanded Joe bewildered. Calmly, the girl replied, "That's me before the operation."
Humor to relieve relieve Humor to stress Bob s trip to the Dr. Bob got up and was putting on his coat. His ol lady says,"Where are you going?" He said, "I m going to the doctor." And she said, "Are you sick?" "No" he said, "I m going to get me some of those new Viagra pills." So his ol lady puts on her coat. He said, "Where are you going?" She said, "I m going to the doctor too." "Why?"asked Bob "If you re going to start using that rusty old thing, I m going to get a tetanus shot," she replied.
Ugly Baby A woman got on a bus holding a baby. The bus driver said, "DAMN! That's the ugliest fuckin' baby I've EVER seen!" In a huff, the woman slammed her fare into the fare box and took an aisle seat near the rear of the bus. She fumed for a few stops and started getting really worked up. The man seated next to her sensed that she was agitated and asked her what was wrong. "The bus driver insulted me!" she fumed. The man sympathized and said, "Hey! He's a public servant and he shouldn't say things to insult the passengers." "You're right!" she said. "I think I'll go back up there and give him a piece of my mind." "That's a good idea," the man said. "Here, let me hold your monkey!"
Little Old Lady A little old lady got on a city bus, and sat down behind the bus driver. After a couple minutes, she asked him, "Hey, mister! Want some peanuts?", and held up a bag full. "Sure!", he said, and popped a handful in his mouth. After eating several more, he asked, "Hey...don't you want to have some of these?" "Nope," the old lady replied, "Ain't got no teeth! I just likes the chocolate on the outsides!"
The Patriot Tour Photography and article by Kenny Sturm The Nation of Patriots was formed in 2009 to provide financial support to those who have served in our Armed Forces and their families. These individuals have volunteered their lives in the preservation, protection and future of The United States and all of its citizens. For this we are grateful. The Patriot Tour begins during Memorial Day weekend. A massive group of riders escorts one American Flag on the back of a motorcycle to Woodstock Harley-Davidson in IL. Upon arrival, the flag is transferred to the IL escort. The very next day the Flag is taken to IN and the next it travels to MI and on and on for 100 days, through 48 states. The Flag finally makes it full circle and lands right back in WI where it all started over Labor Day weekend. The only stop for the tour in Pennsylvania began on Friday June 3, 2016 when about 75 riders went from Erie to Ashtabula to meet up with the Mentor, Ohio group who were escorting the flag to Erie. On Saturday more than 90 bikes escorted the flag to Jamestown, New York for another flag transfer ceremony. The event raised over $2,300 which will be given to wounded veterans. All riders are invited to participate in this event. Next year s Patriot Tour will pass through Pennsylvania on June 2 & 3, 2017. Check out Nation of Patriots Tour Pennsylvania on Facebook for more photos, videos, and updates on future rides.

Playing Chess
Rottweiler
A man went to visit a friend and was amazed to find him playing chess with his dog. He watched the game in astonishment for a while. "I can hardly believe my eyes!" he exclaimed. "That's the smartest dog I've ever seen." "Nah, he's not so smart," the friend replied. "I've beaten him three games out of five."
A man walks into a bar one day and asks, "Does anyone here own that rottweiler outside?" "Yeah, I do!" a biker says, standing up. "What about it?" "Well, I think my chihuahua just killed him..." "What are you talkin' about?!" the biker says, disbelievingly. "How could your little runt kill my rottweiler?" "Well, it seems he got stuck in your dog's throat!"
Chihuahua Two buddies were out for a Saturday stroll. One had a Doberman and the other had a Chihuahua. As they sauntered down the street, the guy with Doberman said to his friend, "Let's go over to that bar and get something to drink." The guy with the Chihuahua said, "We can't go in there. We've got dogs with us." The one with the Doberman said, "Just follow my lead." They walked over to the bar and the guy with the Doberman puts on a pair of dark glasses and started to walk in. The bouncer at the door said, "Sorry, Mac, no pets allowed." The man with the Doberman said, "You don't understand. This is my Seeing-Eye dog." The bouncer said, "A Doberman pinscher?" The man said, "Yes, they're using them now. They're very good." The bouncer said, "Come on in." The buddy with the Chihuahua figured what the heck, so he put on a pair of dark glasses and started to walk in. He knew his would be more unbelievable. Once again the bouncer said, "Sorry, pal, no pets allowed." The man with the Chihuahua said, "You don't understand. This is my Seeing-Eye dog." The bouncer said, "A Chihuahua?" The man with the Chihuahua said, "A Chihuahua? They gave me a fricking Chihuahua?"
Seven Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Pets Than Cats 1. Dogs will tilt their heads and try to understand every word you say. Cats will ignore you and take a nap. 2. When you come home from work, your dog will be happy and lick your face. Cats will still be mad at you for leaving in the first place. 3. Dogs will give you unconditional love until the day they die. Cats will make you pay for every mistake you've ever made since the day you were born. 4. A dog knows when you're sad. And he'll try to comfort you. Cats don't care how you feel, as long as you remember where the can opener is. 5. Dogs will come when you call them. And they'll be happy. Cats will have someone take a message and get back to you. 6. Dogs will play fetch with you all day long. The only thing cats will play with all day long are small rodents or bugs, preferably ones that look like they're in pain. 7. Dogs will wake you up if the house is on fire. Cats will quietly sneak out the back door.
Hazen 2016 A Real Old-Time Biker Party I had the great pleasure of going to the A.B.A.T.E. of Pa s 39th annual state party. This is probably the greatest old school biker party that is still going on anywhere in this part of the country and this year had a near record turn out. This party was started in 1977 and is still going strong showing the attitude and lifestyle of the biking community. While a lot has changed since 1977 the the people here still have the same old mindset with newer rides. It is all about having a great, peaceful party with good music, bike games, great food, fun people, and lots of beer. Oh, and did I mention boobs? When I got there the band Remedy X was playing. They were a great sounding rock/classic rock band with a little metal sound to them They had a great following for being on a Friday after noon. They were followed by Black Widow, who had a lead singer that could really put it out there along with looking great. They filled the stage area with a crowd that could not stand still. They rocked until midnight. This band is well worth seeing again. They were followed by Hitchcock Railway, who played till 4 AM but the sound system was running till 5. Please remind me to camp a little farther from the stage next year, I love music, but 5 was pushing it a little for this old man. Saturday was non-stop action starting out with the bike show that had a lot of real nice bikes. It was bright sun with a very hot temperature. The band Witch Hazel started playing after the awards and before the bike games started and really rocked the place. It was extremely hot and the lead singer, Lisa, just never stopped rocking. She was the highest energy rock singer I have seen in years, and despite that heat she just kept on going. She was off the stage, with the crowd and in the motorcycles with her excellent vocals and entertainment. I really don't know how she kept going in that heat.
Hazen 2016 A Real Old-Time Biker Party The bike games got rolling during the performance of Witch Hazel and brought a lot of great entertainment to a very large crowed. They had the largest amount of participants I have ever seen at the games, with a few really interesting costumes. They are always a lot of fun and even in this heat kept the crowd. I have a lot of photos from most of the games but only a few from the weenie bite. Someone decided there would be a bonus to any girls that did it topless so those I can not show. This was followed by the Female/Male Review and once again .. No Photos. The night carried on with Halfway to Hell on stage and, as you can guess, they were an AC/DC tribute band that could tackle the band's huge catalog of music with success. The crowd packed the stage area to hear them. The night finished up with Quarterstick playing till 4 AM.

A Run for Trinity It takes dedicated people with a heart of gold to put together an event like this. Geri Simari-Hardy and Lisa Rogers Klamer were the leading force, along with many other helpers. They worked to get the nicest set of prizes for the Chinese auction, along with many door prizes to finish off a wellorganized poker run. After four days of the news threatening that the day was going to be a washout with heavy thunderstorms, we got up to sunny skies and warm temperatures. The best part was that Trinity was there with her service dog, Lake. Trinity, who is only 10, suffers from seizures while she is sleeping. This is the result of of suffering severe brain bleeding at birth that causes motor delay, seizures, hydrocephalus along with other problems. She is also diagnosed with cerebral palsy and cortical impairment that is all related to her brain hemorrhage at birth. Her parents Kelly and Bill, have done all they can to be alerted to this problem but nothing has worked satisfactorily. Getting an assistance dog like this comes with an extremely high price tag and with continuous costs. Lake, a golden retriever, was trained by New Hope Assistance Dogs in Warren, Pa. Her assistance dog is trained to alert everyone of an oncoming seizure, and also has a very calming effect on her. In between the start and the finish of the run, I covered several other bike events and the count was very low everywhere I went. They had a fair turnout on bikes for Trinity's run, but had a great turnout for the event. Some people heard about it and could not participate, but stopped by to help out whatever they could. Six-Packs Bar and Grille was the host for the event, doing a great job with the lovely Amanda tending bar and Ashley, the manager, putting in so much of an effort to make sure everything worked out. They did a great job, and were so helpful to the event. The winner of the run, Eric Fitzgerald, was very generous and donated the winnings back to Trinity, as did, Gerald Simari, the winner of the 50/50. An event like this shows you how good people of a community can really be. As I was leaving and saying goodbye to the family, Lake leaned into me, put his head against my leg, and pushed. I am not sure if that was a gesture of affection, or one of approval

Photographer: Al Reid - Photographic Adventure Editors Note: We have been asked several times by photographers and models if we would take submissions in this publication. I have talked to Juliann several times and decided that she would be the first guest model. If you are interested in submitting please e-mail us before the shoot to get specifications on what we will need to consider acceptance for publication. thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com By Juliann C At 40 years old I know I am not what is considered the "norm" in modeling. Modeling, for me, happened almost by accident, really. After losing a considerable amount of weight I wanted to do something for myself to celebrate my accomplishment, so I contacted a photographer friend of mine and asked him to do a photo shoot with me. From that moment on, I was hooked. There was a time when I loathed the thought of having my photo taken, but now I love being in front of the camera! While studio shoots are always a good time and fun to do, I find that outdoor/location shoots are my favorite. The beauty of nature makes a photograph so much better because the colors of nature cannot be replicated in the studio or by a computer program. Aside from modeling, I am an Administrative Assistant at Clark Testing in Jefferson Hills, PA., I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and spent 15 years teaching in private schools, I've been a certified EMT for 19 years and even have experience as a volunteer firefighter for 5 years. Modeling has been a great change for me and has given me such wonderful experiences. I have also had the opportunity and pleasure to meet and work with some very talented photographers. I look forward to future and to see where this adventure is going to take me. About the Photographer: Al Reid of Photographic Adventures has been involved with photography, in one way or another, for almost 49 years. He has been shooting for model portfolios and publication for the last four years. Al enjoys producing stunning images of up and coming Pittsburgh based models.

Mulligan's Sports Bar & Grill and Hot Metal Harley-Davidson Bike Night I was joined by the lovely Barbie Chapman for dinner at Mulligan s Sports Bar and Grill at 1013 Lebanon Rd. in West Mifflin and then to check out their bike night on Wednesday, June 22nd. They had a nice crowd, considering the threat of rain. Barbie was selling tickets for her Tree of Hope fundraiser. They had food and beer specials along with live music. BJ McMullan with ProRider was there doing demos for their advanced motorcycle skill courses
