Welcome to the digital version of The Bikers Trading Post The Bikers Trading Post is now being published as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes, we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. This month we are putting in two calendars, one vertical and one horizontal. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slideshow from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place.

Rambling Thoughts With the weather getting nice outside, people are starting to plan a lot of upcoming events. As of the time I am writing this, my site has about 250 past and present 2017 events listed. If you have anything happening involving the Western Pennsylvania motorcycle community, please let us know. It looks like it will be a great summer with all the local happenings. Many of the rallies are starting to list the feature entertainment for their events. One thing that is very disappointing to me is that there will not be a Thunder in the Cascades. I have attended that event from the very beginning, when they piggybacked on Balloon Quest in Union Township their first year. May is also the start of the summer bike rallies for the area. One that I want to try to hit is May 18th to 21st, the Hawg Valley Bike Rally in Graham, Kentucky. It is a about a seven and a half hour drive, but if I can swing it I will. That weekend is also a three day "welcome to summer" party at Erie H-D. May 26th brings the start of Ohio Bike Week in Sandusky. That event brings a large crowd from Western PA. June gets things really running with Thunder in the Valley in Johnstown and the A.B.A.T.E. Party in Hazen.

We are read by more people than any printed motorcycle magazine covered in Western Pennsylvania. We are growing because we are local people, doing for the local people. Parking Lot Party and Spring Open House April 22 brought us to the Three Rivers HarleyDavidson Parking Lot Party and Spring Open House. I arrived after being at the BikePAC run in Butler and a quick stop at a different shop only to be amazed on the turnout. I think this was the best turnout I have seen there in a long time. They put on a great event with music by Sourmash, two beautiful Bud Light Girls. Adult beverages by Micky's Place, a bake sale, vendors, and a lot of food. It was great to see so many people out for an April event. The staff at Three Rivers did a great job and a special thank you to their marking manager Raquel. GREAT JOB, GUYS!

What Happened at Hazen 2016 A Real Old-Time Biker Party See all the fun and 282 photos HERE The bike games got rolling during the performance of Witch Hazel and brought a lot of great entertainment to a very large crowed. They had the largest amount of participants I have ever seen at the games, with a few really interesting costumes. They are always a lot of fun and even in this heat kept the crowd. I have a lot of photos from most of the games but only a few from the weenie bite. Someone decided there would be a bonus to any girls that did it topless so those I can not show. This was followed by the Female/Male Review and once againâ&#x20AC;Ś.. No Photos. The night carried on with Halfway to Hell on stage and, as you can guess, they were an AC/DC tribute band that could tackle the band's huge catalog of music with success. The crowd packed the stage area to hear them. The night finished up with Quarterstick playing till 4 AM. Click on the Red link above for more photos

A MAN WALKS INTO A BAR A man walks into the front door of a bar. He is obviously drunk. he staggers up to the bar, seats himself on a stool, and with a belch, asks the bartender for a drink. The bartender politely informs the man that it appears that he has already had plenty to drink--he could not be served additional liquor at this bar but could get a cab called for him. The drunk is briefly surprised then softly scoffs, grumbles, climbs down off the bar stool, and staggers out the front door. A few minutes later, the same drunk stumbles in the side door of the bar. He wobbles up to the bar and hollers for a drink. The bartender comes over, and still politely--but more firmly refuses service to the man due to his inebriation. Again, the bartender offers to call a cab for him. The drunk looks at the bartender for a moment angrily, curses, and shows himself out the side door, all the while grumbling and shaking his head. A few minutes later, the same drunk bursts in through the back door of the bar. He plops himself up on a bar stool, gathers his wits, and belligerently orders a drink. The bartender comes over and emphatically reminds the man that he is clearly drunk, will be served no drinks, and either a cab or the police will be called immediately. The surprised drunk looks at the bartender and in hopeless anguish, cries "Man! How many bars do you work at?"

FOR CIVILIAN RIDERS Advanced motorcycle skill courses include the same training exercises used by police motor officers and motorcycle rodeo competitors. Saturday April 22, 2017 brought 26th year of the Freedom Isnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t Free, BikePAC Poker Run. This run that started at the North Side Professional Building in downtown Butler has seen years with snow and rain along with warm and cold weather. This is normally the first run for the year, and starts with breakfast at 9 AM and the last bike out at noon. This is a great group of people who work hard to raise money with this run for BikePAC. BikePAC is the political action committee for bikers fighting for the rights of all Pennsylvania motorcyclists. See more photos HERE

Lawrence County Blessing of the Bikes Downtown New Castle came alive with the roar of motorcycles Sunday, April 30th as about 600 bikes descended into the Riverwalk Park area for the Lawrence County Blessing of the Bikes. The weather was playing games all day, turning from rain in the morning, sunshine and warm in the afternoon, and some quick, intermittent showers, with a downpour that lasted about three minutes. This is the fifth year for the New Castle blessing, moving up from the Diamond two years ago. The Lawrence County Blessing of the Bikes is a huge success due to the many hours, dedication, and hard work of Pastor Rich Shira, his wife Katherine Shira, and a great group of volunteers. Along with Rich, Pastor Lowell Scott, T.R. Walker, and Father Joe Codori of the New Castle Catholic Community all gave blessings over the crowd and individual blessings for the riders. Humor to relieve stress HELP NEEDED I need some help guys. I feel we are all friends here and help each other out. Recently I think my girlfriend is seeing somebody. Lately she has been coming home late from work and when I ask her about it she gives little information. When her cell phone rings and I look to see who it is she snaps "what...you checkin on me?" If I do answer it the other party hangs up. Lately she seems to being going out a lot with "the girls." And when she gets home she always has someone drop her off a house or two up the street. So last night I took it upon myself to get to the bottom of it. It started to get around the time that she normally comes home late and I went outside and crouched down beside my bike so she wouldn't see me. I strange car pulled up in front of the neighbors house with my girlfriend in the passenger seat. Just as she was getting out of the car I noticed that I was starting to get some rust on my highway bars where the previous owner had dropped in his driveway. What do you think I should do about this? Should I sand the rust out and clear over it or is there something that will remove this before it gets out of hand? I'd really appreciate your help on this rust matter.

A.B.A.T.E. Of Butler County Chapter 13

Swap Meet A.B.A.T.E. of Butler County Chapter 13 held their 9th annual Motorcycle Swap Meet on March 25th of 2017 at the East Butler Fire Hall in East Butler, Pa. I have always found the smaller swap meets to have the most interesting goods from the vendors, and this one was no exception. There was everything from fishing gear, guns to barn finds. The best part of this meet is the people running it, and the people attending. I always run into a bunch of old friends here.
