The Bikers Trading Post November 2015

Page 1

Welcome to the digital version Of the Bikers Trading Post The Bikers Trading Post is now being published monthly as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. This month we are putting in two calendars, one vertical and one horizontal. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slide show from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. At this time we have listed 413 events past and present for 2015 in Western Pa. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost Please check it out and friend us, and please feel free to share anything on that page you want to. Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place. October is a very hard month for the bike life. Most of the events that I wanted to attend this month had rain. If you have anything happening please let me know at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com We are looking for people who go to a lot of the events and would like to do sales and also cover a few events. We are trying to keep the areas to about one county each, so after you get set up you could cover it in 2 or 3 days a month. We are offering a great sales incentive so if you are looking for a little money on the side please get in touch with us. We will also be looking for bikes to feature in the magazine along with models for on the bikes. Anyone that is going to an event and wants to share it with us please e-mail us at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com. If you would like to join us in sales, covering events and getting published please let us know. This month we are starting to have a monthly contest. It is located on the last of the Biker Friendly Pages. Check it out and enter. I will apologies because we made the decision and put it together on the day that we were going to press.

For a free download to print the calendar click here.

Please when you are checking our an event and you see this button

click

on it. It will take you to an album that has all the photos from that event.

Lawrence County A.B.A.T.E. A.B.A.T.E. had a great turnout this year with the District 2 Stamp Run. This year the stamp book ran from April 25 through October 3, with 108 stops involved. The destinations were as far north as Marienville PA through Cook Forest and Clarion County, and around Butler, Beaver, and Lawrence counties. A lot of excellent riding opportunities for those who are looking to get some local riding in during the summer and support District 2 A.B.A.T.E.. The run ended with a party at the Fisherman s Cove on October 3 for all those who participated in the run. Participants earn points for every stop, and with your point value you can play your poker hand. The best poker hands win a cash prize. This year first place went to Tim Rayner, second went to Heather McCormick, and third was Keith Falconer. The winner of the most stamps went to Dick Logan. Food was provided and a cornhole tournament was the highlight of the day, while music was played by our DJs George & Jan, of RnD Connection. Next on Lawrence County A.B.A.T.E. s list is the Light Up Night parade in New Castle. We are working on building a float that promotes A.B.A.T.E. and bike safety. Lawrence County A.B.A.T.E. is a great chapter that is always active with social events and legislation on protecting all motorcyclists. Please feel free to ask any of our officers or members about A.B.A.T.E. - Lovada

Cassandra Raven I asked Cassie to tell me a little about her self. Cassandra Raven, 20. I'm an experienced model who has been in the industry for over two years. I'm a natural redhead and I'm fairly petite. I like to think of myself as more than just a model; more of an artist. I write, paint, draw, and dabble in photography. You can follow me on Instagram @cassandraraven and on Twitter @redhairedraven.

Were you ever published? What type of work do you like doing? What was your favorite shoot and where do you plan on going with it and in life? I have been published several times in many local and growing magazines. I personally like doing medieval/fantasy/fairytale shoots the most, however, lingerie comes second to that. I can't say I have a "favorite" shoot, because I have fun doing them all. I hope in the future to make a larger impact on the modeling scene, and for my life I just want to enjoy it as much as possible whatever I decide to do.

Tim Zeliesko s BagTracker Is it a Bagger? Is it a Board-Tracker? Well, it s both, said Tim Zeliesko, owner of Unit Six Motoring in Pittsburgh, PA. He calls it the BagTracker. While he is primarily known for building some of the most prestigious Big Wheel Baggers, this time he and his team did not build your average bagger. He wanted to build a prime example of extreme fabrication, something that isn't the normal bagger comprised of parts that come in the mail to be bolted on. This is his vision of two eras that are 100 years apart in motorcycle history. Big wheel bagger and early 1900's Board Tracker, seamlessly put together to make something that is almost insane to even think about. This bike was just a crazy drawing on a piece of paper only 2 months before Daytona Bike Week 2015. That is when he decided to start the madness. Completed in only 55 days and making it to Daytona to roll the streets for the first time was quite the feat. Tim said he only slept an average of 7 hours a week, consumed too much caffeine and didn't think it was going to make it. "Against the clock and thanks to my close friends who build with me everyday at my shop we prevailed to make this monster," said Zeliesko. The bike features a Buell XB12r engine that still running the full DDFI Buell fuel management and gauge cluster. The throttle body is actually connected to the backbone of the bike to give the right side of the engine a clean look while the air intake is hidden under the headlight. The Buell inspired head pipes takes a literal turn to wild when the exhaust comes out the left side facing forward - and yes those are spark plugs in the pipes! There is a wild fuel injected flame thrower system installed in this custom stainless exhaust. Wrapped around the engine is a full custom frame with an air suspension system designed to lay out the frame flat on the ground. No kickstand necessary! The gas tank is a sheet metal mini replica of the Paul Yaffe stretched tank seen on almost every big wheel bagger. Seeing as this has the blood from two animals, it has low handlebars and it has mid foot controls like you would see flying the old board tracks. The foot controls were actually made from rear floorboards from a Harley touring bike for another hybrid bagger touch. The license plate is hidden in front of the rear tire only being visible once the bike is aired up. Now let s talk about the elephant in the room. There are no forks, and furthermore nothing connected to the absurd highlighter yellow custom cut 26 inch wheels. Unit Six's vision also incorporated a radical double single sided swing arm system. This is the only double 26 double single sided swing arm bike in the world. You cannot miss this bike down the road or sitting in a parking lot. It's just under 11 feet long, breathes fire, and the paint changes color at every different angle. It is quite the spectacle to say the least. The bike obviously wasn't designed to ride across the country, but contrary to the way it looks, the bike is very rideable. Tim rode the bike around Daytona during its debut, drawing crowds everywhere the bike went.

A few words from the builder: "I wanted to build something that people couldn't help but stare at because they would not be able to make sense of it. It also needed to look dangerous because board track racing was one of the most dangerous forms of racing in motorsports history. I wanted it so you either would love or hate this motorcycle. It isn't for everyone's taste, and I wanted it that way. The bike was built to display off the wall fabrication to show our capabilities at Unit Six, and that is something everyone can appreciate. The bike was built as a rideable work of art, a modern marvel, something to confuse you, something that hasn't been done yet; simply something to talk about, and that s what us builders and riders like to do, right? Talk about our bikes. It definitely makes one hell of a conversation piece." Ashley Ashley

Ashley was referred to me by one of my photographer friends. She will be the model of the month in an upcoming issue. The sleeve of flowers are just one of many with no meaning, but I think they make a beautiful sleeve. The pitbull on my thigh is Zeus, my last dog. He s there because I had broken up a fight between him and another pit, where both dogs lived, but I was bitten in the fight. The Koi are on my colored thigh because I always wanted Japanese artwork. I think my next will be a Japanese style snake, because I think snakes are badass. The words Love Metal on my rib cage and the heartagram on my wrist are both because HIM is my favorite band. They re a Finnish rock band, and their album Love Metal is a mix of rock, metal, and romance. The rose is from a day when I was a guinea pig for my artist when he was first starting out. He loves roses, so I said to put one on me, and this is what I got. The skull was a badass idea, and being able to put it up to my face was too cool to pass up. I have leopard print and diamonds on my chest because I just loved them, and because diamonds are my birthstone. The Chinese symbol on the back of my neck is snake , which is my zodiac sign. I also have the words honey suckle on my left breast. That was a nickname given to me by my ex fiance, back when I was only 18.

Humor to relieve relieve Humor to stress The old biker An old biker is sitting on the curb crying his eyes out. A young biker rides up and asks him what's the matter. The old man says, "I own a Harley dealership, I've made millions, I have a great big house, the fastest bike in town and few days back I married a beautiful blonde stripper...
