Rambling Thoughts The cool weather, falling leaves and football are among us as I sit here and work on this issue of The Bikers Trading Post. September was a crazy busy month with a lot of the activities coming to a very rapid stop. We went from having well over 100 events at a time on our list of upcoming events down to just a small handful. There is still some of the most beautiful riding weather of the year out there, but nights can get a little brutal if you are not prepared. A trip to the Allegheny forest is a great ride or to go see the Elk in Benezette, Pennsylvania. Here is a link to a ride. Elk County. Check out your local dealers and maybe even travel a little to find some new ones, because they will have events all winter long. This is a great way to find new friends. And, sometimes even get free food and drinks while checking out all the new goods. Also, this month I will be searching for all the winter events that I can find to break the winter blues
Welcome to the digital version of The Bikers Trading Post The Bikers Trading Post is now being published monthly as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes, we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. This month we are putting in two calendars, one vertical and one horizontal. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slideshow from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. At this time we have listed over 415 events past and present for 2015 in Western Pa. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost Please check it out and friend us, and please feel free to share anything on that page you want to. Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place. Anyone that is going to an event and wants to share it with us please e-mail us at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com. If you would like to join us in sales, covering events and getting published please let us know.

Pennsylvania HB 853, also called Daniel’s Law Submitted By Jennifer B Myers A CALL TO ACTION…what does that mean? With so many needs and issues in the world we live in, everyday someone is asking for action supporting a particular cause. So in the riding community, what is an important issue that can motivate an action or response that is worth saying A Call To Action is needed? The action we need is moving forward with Pennsylvania HB 853, also called Daniel’s Law. What is this about? To clarify, this legislation enhances the penalties for death or injury resulting from distracted driving. It helps raise awareness and responsibility for distracted driving, and the extreme danger it causes to riders across Pennsylvania. This legislation, which directly affects the riding community, has been on the legislative Senate table since July 13, 2016 and has not moved. This Call To Action is to make your voice known by contacting your State Senators and encouraging them to contact Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman’s office to get HB 853 (Daniel’s Law) on the Senate calendar for a vote THIS session. Time for HB 853 is running out, and without a vote, the process will have to be restarted from the very beginning once again. Ask yourself this: which neighbor, friend or loved one, while driving, riding, or walking, has been affected by distracted driving? This penalty increase will heighten accountability and awareness for a problem across the state. What is A CALL TO ACTION worth to you?

Growing Old There was an elderly couple who in their old age noticed that they were getting a lot more forgetful, so they decided to go to the doctor. The doctor told them that they should start writing things down so they don't forget. They went home and the old lady told her husband to get her a bowl of ice cream. "You might want to write it down," she said. The husband said, "No, I can remember that you want a bowl of ice cream." She then told her husband she wanted a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream. "Write it down," she told him, and again he said, "No, no, I can remember: you want a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream." Then the old lady said she wants a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry on top. "Write it down," she told her husband and again he said, "No, I got it. You want a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry on top." So he goes to get the ice cream and spends an unusually long time in the kitchen, over 30 minutes. He comes out to his wife and hands her a plate of eggs and bacon. The old wife stares at the plate for a moment, then looks at her husband and asks, "Where's the toast?"
Humor to relieve stress Getting into Heaven A woman dies after a long illness, and finds herself just outside of heaven, at the pearly gates. As she peers inside, she sees people she knew from her life on earth enjoying themselves, laughing, and looking quite happy. Just then, St Peter comes along, and she asks him: “Is this heaven? How can I enter the gates?” St Peter replies: “Yes, this is heaven. All you have to do is spell one word for me, and you’ll be free to enter.” “What word?,” she asks. “Please tell me!” “Spell LOVE,” and you can enter, replied St Peter. Relieved, she spells the word correctly, and St Peter opens the gates for her. After she had been in heaven for some time, the woman became quite comfortable and happy, but she still missed her beloved husband who she left on the earth. As an extra way of being of service, she asks to become a helper of St Peter, along with others who greet the newcomers to heaven and usher them through the pearly gates. Imagine her surprise one day when her husband appeared at the gates. “Darling! I thought you’d never get here,” she says in greeting. “I have missed you so much…tell me, what have you been doing all this time? Was life hard for you after I left?” Her husband replied: “Well, it’s good to see you, too! Yes, I have been quite busy. I was very sorry when you left, but I was quite attracted to that cute nurse who helped you through your last days, and we ended up getting married a few months after your passing. And then – I won the lottery! Can you imagine? I was able to buy a large mansion, a new car, retired from my job, and my new wife and I traveled the world and we have had a grand life. We were on a vacation in the Greek isles and while I was water-skiing, my ski fell off and hit me in the head…so, here I am! I was sorry to leave her and the earth, but it’s really great to see you again. Gee, it looks so nice in there. Is this heaven?” The woman looked at him, smiled sweetly, and says: “Well, imagine that! I have missed you so much, and hoped that you missed me, too…but, well, I guess life goes on – right?” “Right!,” he said. “So, tell me…how do you like heaven? I never dreamed I’d get here. Is it easy to get in?” “Oh, yes,” she replied. “All you have to do is spell one word” “Okay!” he said excitedly. “What word?” “Czechoslovakia”
Humor to relieve relieve Humor to stress Why did I get divorced? Well, last week was my birthday. My wife didn't wish me a happy birthday. My parents forgot and so did my kids. I went to work and even my colleagues didn't wish me a happy birthday. As I entered my office, my secretary said, "Happy birthday, boss!" I felt so special. She asked me out for lunch. After lunch, she invited me to her apartment. We went there and she said, "Do you mind if I go into the bedroom for a minute?" "Okay," I said. She came out 5 minutes later with a birthday cake, my wife, my parents, my kids, my friends, & my colleagues all yelling, "SURPRISE!!!" while I was waiting on the sofa... Naked.
Little Johnny at School Teacher: "If I gave you 2 cats and another 2 cats and another 2, how many would you have?" Johnny: "Seven." Teacher: "No, listen carefully... If I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?" Johnny: "Seven." Teacher: "Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you two apples, and another two apples and another two, how many would you have?" Johnny: "Six." Teacher: "Good. Now if I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?" Johnny: "Seven!" Teacher: "Johnny, where in the heck do you get seven from?!" Johnny: "Because I've already got a freaking cat!" - See more at:
