The Bikers Trading Post September

Page 1

Welcome to the digital version Of the Bikers Trading Post The Bikers Trading Post will now be published monthly as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We now have people in Erie and Crawford Counties and I think one in Washington and Fayette County. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. The calendar is sideways in the view mode so you can print it to hang. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slide show from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. At this time we have listed 333 events past and present for 2015 in Western Pa. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost Please check it out and friend us, and please feel free to share anything on that page you want to. Here is the link to all of the events that we have listed. https://thebikerstradingpost.smugmug.com/Events/n-nL89zz/ Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place. This month one of our features is East Coast Motorcycle Rally ( formally known as East Coast Sturgis ) There were a lot of naked people in the background and I could not use most of the bike game photos so you are warned. We are looking for people who go to a lot of the events and would like to do sales and also cover a few events. We are trying to keep the areas to about one county each, so after you get set up you could cover it in 2 or 3 days a month. We are offering a great sales incentive so if you are looking for a little money on the side please get in touch with us. We will also be looking for bikes to feature in the magazine along with models for on the bikes. On about once a week we update the list on our smug page. The link to the new listing is always pinned to the top of our facebook page or you can go to our smug page https://thebikerstradingpost.smugmug.com/ and it will be listed under the date it was up loaded. We add a whole new page and delete the old one so you can not save the album link. With that all being said I had a lot of fun this month and went to a lot of events meeting all of you really good people out there. East Coast Motorcycle Rally was the most relaxed and fun time I have had in a long time. We are slowly getting everything put together with the people covering the different areas so please bear with us on that. Anyone that is going to an event and wants to share it with us please e-mail us at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com. If you would like to join us in sales, covering events and getting published please let us know. Last month the link to the model did not work. https://thebikerstradingpost.smugmug.com/April-SS2/n-Q2CTPM/ The Erie Bikefest did not work. https://thebikerstradingpost.smugmug.com/Erie-Bike-Fest/n-QJz9Pn/

Sunday, August 23rd, held the 2015 Café Racer Magazine Readers Ride-in Bike Show in Sewickley, PA. It was a unique type of show with many foreign and vintage bikes. It was a great event to be held in the heart of this quaint town. The turnout was over flowing and the crowd was very diverse with many coming from great distances. There were trophies awarded for: Best Japanese Café Racer, Best American/European Café Racer, Best British Café Racer, Wildest Engineering, People’s Choice and Best in Show The winners will be featured in Cafe Racer Magazine! Also there was “Naked Speed” Star Dustin Kott! Great job guys, I know this will just get bigger and bigger.

Fallen Warrior Tribute and Motorcycle Run Presented by Vision Ministries, in cooperation with C.M.A and A.B.A.T.E. Lawrence Co ABATE had the opportunity to attend and work along side Vision Ministries for “THE FALLEN WARRIOR ALL DAY TRIBUTE & MOTORCYCLE RUN 2015 which was held at Cascade Park. All Proceeds where donated to IT'S ABOUT THE WARRIOR FOUNDATION which is located in Butler Pa. ( www.iatw.us). What a great day we all had. The weather was beautiful sunny & rain free... always a plus!! The morning started off with a prayer service where we were all honored to listen to Pastor Randy Crum from Vision Ministries along with Pastor Albert Librizzi from Barnstone Ministries. The main spearker was Pastor Bill Blume from Faith 2 Faith Ministries. They all delivered an inspiring message which started the day out in a positive up lifting mood. There were vendors and informational booths from CMA, ABATE, Harley Davidson of New Castle, Vision Ministries of Law. Co., Chris Kyle Frog Foundation which also brought the Chris Kyle Truck out for display. There were Military displays to visit and Food was offered by the VFW Post 315 which did a great job keeping everyone full. It's About The Warrior Foundation (IATW) Steve Monteleone brought out their Foundation Truck which was also included in the run

Fallen Warrior Tribute and Motorcycle Run Presented by Vision Ministries, in cooperation with C.M.A and A.B.A.T.E. which started @ 2:00 I wish I could tell you how many bikes there were but there was so much going on with this event I never got around to counting but had heard somewhere around 200. We were lead by the Patriot Guard which is always such an honor. Also included in the run were military vehicles as well as various fire departments and local Police departments. The ride headed

Fallen Warrior Tribute and Motorcycle Run Presented by Vision Ministries, in cooperation with C.M.A and A.B.A.T.E. towards downtown New Castle then headed north and looped back down thru town. It was so wonderful to see all the support of the community come out and wave. When we returned there was entertainment from Highland Rose Band free cupcakes and cookies were available thru out the day and a raffle was held also. As the day was winding down we all gathered together for the FINAL SALUTE TO AMERICA'S SOLDIERS. We had the honor of listening to the brother of SSG Edward D Mills JR who was killed in the line of duty. Who shared why his brother wanted to serve his country thru the military. Spending the day and getting to see so many faces and hear so many great stories about patriotism really makes this event a must attend for next year. Lawrence Co Abate is always doing something to help a biker whether it's thru changing a law or creating a new law or helping a veteran who served our country. If your looking for a great organization that truly makes a different then give ABATE a call. We have monthly meeting at the Crane Room in New Castle the first Wednesday of every month starting @ 7:00. We are dedicated in making Motorcycling a more safer adventure for all bikers. Till next time remember 4 wheels move the body, 2 wheels move the soul... Lovada

The Bikers Trading Post

I met Britt a little while back through some mutual friends and she always caught my eye and was as sweet as could be. As for being a tomboy when she came to the shoot she had her 7mm rifle with her because she was going out shooting after. I was doing a shoot for the Horse magazine at this location and wanted to line up another bike and model to shoot at the same time. The bike we had lined up broke down so Britt stepped up and said don’t cancel the shoot I will find a bike. This is a 2003 Honda Shadow Spirit 750. I asked her to tell me a little about herself and her modeling and here is what she sent. I've always been encouraged to model because of my height and build by family and friends but I was always the tom boy that didn't think I could make it as a model. A close friend of mine convinced me to do a group shoot when I was 18 and Fred Jennings saw a ton of potential in me. He had me join the Emerald Girls which changed my world. I got to meet wonderful local photographers, participate in shoots more frequently and they even helped me get into runway shows with Philip Pelusi. Wanting to model had always been in the back of my mind but I didn't think it was a dream that I would ever reach. Now that dream has been my reality for 2 years and it has built my confidence, taught me how to enhance my work and I'm working towards a new goal of becoming a well known bikini and alternative model as well as becoming a promotional model for bike weeks and car shows. One of my best experiences on this journey was finding out on Valentines Day that I would be on the cover of Top Floor Magazine (with the best pose that I had ever nailed), and getting to do a shoot on a bike with James Nocera. I love motorcycles and this shoot allowed me to play with one for a day and have people see the outcome of such a fun shoot! I'm a Park and Resource Management Major at Slippery Rock University and when I finish my schooling I plan on becoming a seasonal park ranger, touring the US on a bike and working at every national park that I come past. That would be the life!

I was invited to join some good people a for a few days at the East Coast Motorcycle Rally formerly known as "The East Coast Sturgis Motorcycle Rally" at Apple Mountain, Little Orleans, Western Maryland. It is a great place to get together with good people to enjoy good food, good times great events and some really great entertainment. The location was great with ample room for the campers in the woods and plenty of room for the RV campers. I did not get a number on how many people were there but one of the vendors said he estimated 10,000. They had most of the regular motorcycle games but they also had some I have never seen before including the thong pull where they tie a sled with a bale of hay on it to the girls thong and the girls race to a finish line. They had applesauce wrestling but they mixed in cooking oil in with it. That made for some interesting slips and slides. And the best of all the games was the motorcycle demolition derby. I have never seen anything like that and I have to say it was the craziest thing I ever saw. Something I do not think I want to try at home. They also had some of the standard bike Rally events including the bike show, tattoo contest with a twist. They had a WTF tattoo contest in like WTF was I thinking when I got this tattoo and of course the no t-shirt contest. The bands were great with Friday "ERYN SHEWELL AND THE WHISKEY DEVILS" followed by "THE NIGHTHAWKS" and finishing the night was "KASHMIR" the ultimate Led Zeppelin tribute band. I have seen them before and they always draw a crowd and put on a great show. Saturday they started off with the fantastic sounds of "GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY" Next was "ARTIMUS PYLE" The ultimate tribute to Ronnie Van Zants Lynyrd Skynyrd. The Artimus Pyle Band features Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer from Lynyrd Skynyrd and last was what I think talked me into going was the feature band that I have always been a fan of the national recording artist the "OUTLAWS" I am looking forward to making this a yearly trip and I think it is something you all need to check out to. You can’t even go camping for the price of the admission here and also to get such great entertainment and being with a great crowd. You can check out their website at http://www.eastcoaststurgis.com/index.html

516 photos from the event here and also a video slide show

A.B.A.T.E. of Erie County PA Bullseye Run September 19th, 2015 The 5th Annual A.B.A.T.E. of Erie County PA Bullseye Run will take place on Saturday, September 19th. Sign-ups will be at The Last Shot Bar and Grill 3064 West 12th St. in Erie from 10:30am to NOON. The cost is $10.00 a rider and $15.00 with a passenger. This year's charity is StringsforaCURE速, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing education, comfort and financial assistance to cancer patients, primarily those with breast cancer. Some of the famous musicians who have donated their used guitar strings to SFAC to be made into jewelry include Joe Bonamassa, Jon Bon Jovi, Chris Daughtry, Melissa Etheridge, Wynonna Judd, Bret Michaels, Willie Nelson and Paul Rodgers. Last year's Bullseye Run recipient, Cody's Wheels of Hope, received a check for $930.00! The Bullseye Run was created by former A.B.A.T.E. Vice President Tim Dailey and it is all about "hitting your target." Some of the challenges we have done over the last 5 five years include horseshoes, darts, corn hole, ring toss, lawn darts, paintball and a fan favorite...pistol shooting. This year has seven stops with some fun, interesting and challenging targets including the pistol shoot. New for this year...you can use your own non-scoped, non-laser pistol for the pistol shoot (a .22 will be available for those that do not have their own). This is one run you do not want to miss! For more information on A.B.A.T.E. or the Erie County Chapter, go to www.abatepa.org or eriecoabateofpa.org. For more information on this year's charity, go to www.stringsforacure.org or visit our Facebook pages "ABATE of PA - Erie County Chapter" and "StringsforaCURE".

I ask Justine to give us a little about herself and her tattoos. Dom Cioffi from needles of fury in Natrona Heights did all of my work free handed. It is all his original art work. Nothing off a stencil or Internet. There are creatures hidden all throughout the flower designs. My husband and I have a matching one on our shoulder that is a rat beast eating a skull head. There are spiders and a Wolf fighting a snake. It is the fury hidden among the beauty. I look like a typical in shape female but my entire life for the past 15 years has been training like an animal. I am passionate about what I do in every aspect of my life from running my two businesses to my bodybuilding and power lifting career I approach everything with fury and dedication in every way possible

Humor to relieve relieve Humor to stress How to tell your child's gender. Three women were sitting in a bar, (brunette, redhead, and a blonde) they were all pregnant. The brunette says, "I know what I'm going to have." The other to asked how. She replied, "Well I was on top when I conceived so I will have a baby boy". The red head said, "If your logic is correct then I will have a baby girl because I was on the bottom when I conceived.
