Welcome to the digital version of The Bikers Trading Post

Rambling Thoughts As I look outside thinking winter is over and see that everything is covered in snow, there is a slight bit of resentment on the weather. At this time, I think we are all ready for some relief. Bike week is in progress at this time, and we are seeing the Harley dealers starting with their events. This past month did bring a few of the larger events to our outlying area that we did cover. After next month, we will be back on a monthly schedule, and will be covering as many local events as we can. I am talking to several people who are wanting to cover events in their local area. Remember, we are a local event based publication, and if you have something happening in your area, please let us know. We are read by more people than any printed motorcycle magazine covered in Western Pennsylvania. We are growing because we are local people, doing for the local people. Follow us on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost and we will be releasing our other social media pages. Thank you Barbie for your help. On to the future. If you are running a non-profit event, we will be happy to post your information for free. Please get a hold of us on that for more information. Last on the list, summer is coming, and we are thrilled to be able to come to as many events as we can. If you would like to have us at your event, please let us know. We will be happy to do whatever we can to cover it. I am sorry but we are limited to how many events we can cover on a day. If you would like to be published and cover events yourself, please let us know. Also, if you have a bike that you would like featured, or are a model who would like to be featured, please let us know.

The Bikers Trading Post is now being published monthly as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes, we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. This month we are putting in two calendars, one vertical and one horizontal. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slideshow from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. At this time we have listed over 415 events past and present for 2015 in Western Pa. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost Please check it out and friend us, and please feel free to share anything on that page you want to. Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place. Happy riding, and keep the wheels on the ground. Anyone that is going to an event and wants to share it with us thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com please e-mail us at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com. If you would like to join us in sales, covering events and getting Download the calendar pages HERE published please let us know.

2017 Pittsburgh World of Wheels 57 years of car shows has made its mark on the 2017 World of Wheels that was at the David Lawrence Convention Center on January 20 to 22nd. Once again the vehicles were great and the turn out was excellent. This is known as a hot rod show but has a little bit of everything. Once again this year they are trying to expand motorcycle portion of the show. I would like to see a separate room for the bikes or a totally separate show but in Pittsburgh this is as close as we get. Enclosed are the winners of the motorcycle portion. Indoor Small Engine and Motorcycle Swap Meet Island Underground Studios in McKees Rocks On January 28th I had the pleasure to stop in at the Indoor Small Engine and Motorcycle Swap Meet at the Island Underground Studios in McKees Rocks. Most people say that a swap meet has to run several years to get all of the good vendors in, but my experience is that a new or small set up gets the best of the off the wall equipment and some of the best deals. There were not a lot of vendors there, and the crowd was a little small, but it seemed like everyone was there to buy and sell. Almost everyone that I watched leave had something they bought, from little girl's motocross boots to motorcycle front ends. I hope to see this one carry on and continue.

The Progressive International Motorcycle Show The Progressive International Motorcycle Show is one of the most exciting motorcycle events we make it to, and I was thrilled when I got an email with press credentials to attend the 36th annual tour in Cleveland at the IX Center again this year. The Progressive International show is the industry’s introduction to the new line of bikes for the year, and they report more than 800 brands exhibiting on the tour, and the largest custom motorcycle competition in the nation, the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show. In addition to being one of the largest events in the area, the Cleveland stop on the tour comes at a perfect time. It’s in the dead of winter, when all but the hardest riders have their bikes put away, and everyone is itching for a chance to get back out. We arrived in Cleveland bright and early, driving through quite a winter storm on the way. The lake effect meant the roads were covered, and it made for a hell of a drive, but we weren’t about to let a little weather stop us. The stop this year featured all of the big brands everyone expects, with some hot new models. We saw display models and talked with reps from HarleyDavidson, BMW, Victory, KTM, and all the rest of the brands that everybody expects, but as usual, there were a few things that stand out. One of the big surprises for me was when we were talking with a Honda dealer, and he informed me that almost every motorcycle that does the tour is completely destroyed at the end of the tour, and is not sold. It makes sense when you think about it, since the bikes are moved around so much, touched by so many people, and bounced all over the country, but it seems kind of mind blowing that brand new models that have never been started, with $50,000 price tags will be smashed into a little cube of scrap, instead of sold. Makoto Endo was present again, doing large paintings of motorcycles. Makoto is a Japanese artist who worked in advertising for more than two decades. In 2011 he changed careers, and started painting full time. He has painted landscapes and portraits, but the area where he truly shines is with motorcycles. He uses ink and chopsticks to paint large images with an incredible amount of detail. I was excited to see him again, and could have spent the entire day just watching him work. His passion is evident, and his talent is beyond words. I can’t begin to describe his art, and can only say it is breathtaking.

The Progressive International Motorcycle Show One of my favorite things from this year was a unique piece of art. It’s an old Penton motorcycle wheel that sat forgotten somewhere while a tree grew through it. Beside the wheel is a poem, written by Rusty Pyle, the man who owns the wheel. It’s a thoughtful little piece, and it’s also exciting to see something touring around the nation that is local. Rusty is from Mars, PA, right around the corner from us. There was an awesome stunt show with several riders aweing the audience, and we’ve included a set of pictures, but check out our Facebook page for videos. Stunt shows are always a huge attraction, and we watched it twice. The first time we underestimated how large the crowd would be, but we made sure to get there early to be close to get some great shots the second time around. One of the biggest attractions at the Progressive International Tour is the custom bike show, and we can’t leave that out. Although we saw hundreds of motorcycles, there are a few that really stand out. This year’s winners are divided into ten categories. The Freestyle Class winner is Austin Andrella, of Austin Martin Originals, with a 1976 SX 650. The Runner Up was Scott Colosimo with Cleveland CycleWerks, and a 2017 Heist. The Modified Harley Class winner is Dusty Pine, with a 1993 Harley-Davidson Sportster, and the Runner Up is Wayne Raeke, with a 2012 Harley-Davidson Softail Slim, named ‘Lue.’ The Modified Retro Class winner is another bike by Austin Andrella, with Austin Martin Originals, winning with a 1969 Triumph named ‘Ole 69’er.’ The Runner Up is Dani Pajak, of Disowned Customs, with a 1993 Harley Sportster named ‘Copper Chopper.’ The Modified Custom Class winner is Tony Odom of Fancy Cycle, with a 2003 Hayabusa named ‘The Scorpion Bike’. The Runner up is Jessi Combs and Theresa Contreras with, ‘Real Deal,’ a 2016 BMW R Nine T. The Best Paint Class winner is Eddie Slovensky, with ‘Mr. Classic,’ a 2003 Harley Electra Glide Classic. The People’s Choice winner is Dell Battle of Dangerous Designs, with their 1991 Sportster, ‘’72 Style Sporty.’ The Originality Award went to Ala Yahya of ZASH Blade Motorcycle with a 2017 ZASH Detroit Blade. The Ingenuity Award went to Philip Hudson, with a 1980 Suzuki GS750. See all the photos

Wife Finds Husband In Bed A wife arrived home from a shopping trip, and was horrified to find her husband in bed naked, with a lovely young thing. Just as she was about to storm out of the house, her husband stopped her and said, "Honey, before you leave, please let me explain." The wife stopped to listen. He continued, "I was driving along the highway, and I saw this young girl looking very tired and bedraggled, so I offered her a lift. She was also hungry, so I brought her home and made her a meal from the roast beef in the refrigerator which you didn't like. She was wearing some very worn sandals, so I gave her a pair of your shoes which you'd discarded simply because they were out of style. She was cold, so I gave her the sweater I bought you for your birthday - the one you never wore because the colors didn't suit you. Her slacks were torn, so I gave her a pair of yours that were perfectly good, but much too small for you now." The wife seemed to have no problem with any of this, but still needed just one question to be answered. "That's all fine and good," she said, "but why did I find you both in our bed with no clothes on?" The husband replied, "Well, that's simple... see, as she was about to leave the house, she turned to me and asked, "Is there anything else that your wife doesn't use anymore?"

Humor to relieve stress A seventy-eight-year-old guy is crying in a bar A seventy-eight-year-old guy is crying in a bar, so the bartender approaches him and asks what's wrong. The old man answers, "I just got married to a twenty-five year old woman." The bartender nods his head, saying, "Don't worry, it may seem that you don't have a lot in common, but maybe this is an opportunity for each of you to grow!" The old man shakes his head, saying, "No, that's not the problem! We have everything in common! She's smart, funny, and wonderful to be around." The bartender looks at the man confused, then says, "So you're worried she just married you for your money, then?" The old man says, "No -- she's an heiress! She has twice the money I do." The bartender is even more confused now. "Is it a sex problem? I know a great urologist." The old man just shakes his head and howls, "No, no. We make love morning, noon and night." The bartender gives him a look of bewilderment and says, "It sounds like you have the perfect relationship. Why are you crying?" The old man answers, "I can't remember where I live!!!!"

“What is sex…?” Bobs 8 year old grandson ran up to him while he was working in his workshop, and confronted him with the universally dreaded question, “What is sex…?” Bob was surprised he asked such a question at his age, but thought if he’s old enough to ask, he's old enough to get a straight answer. He wouldn’t shirk his responsibility. So Bob proceeded to give him the all the variations of sex he could imagine the boy would encounter in his life.. When Bob was done, the little boy stood frozen, as though nailed to the spot, and looked at him with his mouth open, eyes wide in amazement. Seeing he was overwhelmed, he asked what caused his sudden curiosity. His grandson shook off his reserve and replied, “Grandma says dinner will be ready in a couple of secs.”

Humor to relieve relieve Humor to stress At the Golf Course Wife - "Where the hell have you been? You said you'd be done with golf by noon!” Husband - "I'm so sorry, Honey, but you probably don't want to hear the reason.” Wife - "I want the truth, and I want it NOW!” Husband - "Fine. We finished in under 4 hours, quick beer in the Clubhouse, I hopped in the car, and would have been here at 12 on the button. On the way home, I spotted a girl half our age struggling with a flat tire. I changed it in a jiffy, and next she's offering me money. Of course, I refuse it - then she tells me she was headed to the bar at the Sheraton - and begs me to stop so she can buy me a beer. She's such a sweetie, I said yes. Before you know it - one beer turned to three or four, and I guess we were looking pretty good to each other. Then she tells me she has a room at the Sheraton less than 50 steps from our table. She suggested we get some privacy while pulling me by the hand. Now I'm in her room ... clothes are flying ... the talking stopped ... and we proceeded to have sex in every way imaginable. It must have gone on for hours, because before I know it the clock says 5:30. I jumped up, threw my clothes on, ran to the car, and here I am. There. You wanted the truth ... you got it.” Wife - "Bullshit! You played 36 holes, didn't you!?”

At the Ppsychiatrist A guy went to a psychiatrist because he was having severe problems with his sex life. The psychiatrist asked him a lot of questions, but he couldn't get a clear picture of the problems. Finally he asked, "Do you ever watch your girlfriend's face while you're having sex?" "Well, yes, I did once." "And how did she look?" "Oh boy, she looked very angry!" At this point the psychiatrist felt that he was really getting somewhere. "Well that's very interesting, we must look into this further. Now tell me, you say that you have only seen your girlfriend's face once during sex. That seems somewhat unusual. How did it occur that you saw her face that time?" "She was watching us through the window."

15th Annual Early Bird Motorcycle Swap Meet The first sign of spring is always the Annual Early Bird Motorcycle Swap Meet put on by the Second Chance MC. This event is on its 15th year and is held at the Perryopolis Auto Auction Building on Route 51. You can always find some great deals old friends and something that is really off the wall. The crowd and the vendors were great as always and the one thing I saw that stood out was a 1971 Cadillac Hearse called The Last Responder. This is always a great show with the start of the season for many of the vendors first show.

2017 Easy Riders Invitational My favorite show of the year is always the Easy Riders Invitational held in Columbus Ohio during the beginning of February. This show brings some of the best built bikes from around the country, and as this show proved, even across the pond. This is not a dealer's show, but instead a builder's show where the fabricators and painters can show off their work. This year Pittsburgh was well represented in the show, with several great bikes. Adam Barnett Sr. Received 2nd place in Radical Bagger, Jeff Stalczynski received People's Choice and Bobbie Steele won Best Paint. Congratulations to Steve Wisniewski from Royal Reign Artistry and Unit Six Motoring LLC for some great work. I have not received the list of winners from Easy Riders yet. The top winner was TRIDENT, a motorcycle created by Mr. Masao Inoue, AKA “MASA from Revolt Custom Cycles in Japan. More of his work can be seen at www.revolt-cc.com See all the photos HERE

Guest Model Alyssa Photography By Donald Keys/ MyAgape Photography

In talking to a good friend and fellow photographer a while back he showed me some photos of an up-andcoming model from the Erie area named Alyssa. He was pushing that she would be perfect on a bike for the magazine, but I already had shot the next several months ahead of time, due to winter. I told him that if he shot her as a guest model and the people had a good revue, we could use her when we start shooting again in the spring. Please send me your thoughts to thebikerstardingpost@gmail.com. We will start shooting again in about a month, so if you know any great models or you are a photographer and would like to add a guest model, please let me know.
