Welcome to the digital version of The Bikers Trading Post The Bikers Trading Post is now being published monthly as a digital magazine. We have been making some big changes. Now, instead of being a one man show, we're teaming up with others to make us more of a community magazine. This will let us cover more and publish a lot more of all the events that you are going to. We are a local publication and dealing with local happenings. Yes, we will cover a few of the bigger shows that a lot of you follow but we understand you have no interest in a poker run in Kentucky. We will not be limited to the per page cost like in the normal printed publications. You can download the whole magazine and save it and you may take it to a printer and print part of it or all of it. This month we are putting in two calendars, one vertical and one horizontal. Most of the articles will have links and they are in red and labeled. If you click on that link it will take you to the albums of photos or a video slideshow from the event and you are welcome to right click in them to download and use for any non-commercial use. Please give us credit if you put them on your pages. You can take them and get prints of you and your friends if they were at one of the events that we covered. We have a facebook page that if you click on it will take you to a current list of the events that are happening in our area. At this time we have listed over 415 events past and present for 2015 in Western Pa. https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost Please check it out and friend us, and please feel free to share anything on that page you want to. Now with that all being said this is a biker magazine. We are covering the bike life, style and events. We work hard to try and keep things clean but if something is happening in the background and we miss it, OH WELL. If you are offended by off color jokes and photos of people getting crazy and photos of girls on bikes you are at the wrong place.
Rambling Thoughts O, where do I start to ramble on. This was a crazy month for me. I have a job that I work for the insurance and bill money, where I work three days a week. This past month they moved me to a different site and I have been working 55 to 62 hours a week. I told my supervisor that if I wanted to work I would get a real freaking job. He had no sense of humor. Oh well life goes on. This past month was tough getting to events. I have planned to go and then the night before and that morning they are predicting rain. Then see it was a perfect day for the run. Many were canceled and some were moved. Looking forward to having great weather. That will help make all the events much better. I am looking for all the runs and the multi-day events. This will be a great summer. Life is short, live it to the max. We are read by more people than any printed motorcycle magazine covered in Western Pennsylvania. We are growing because we are local people, doing for the local people. Follow us on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thebikerstradingpost and we will be releasing our other social media pages. Thank you Barbie for your help. On to the future. If you are running a non-profit event, we will be happy to post your information for free. Please get a hold of us on that for more information. Last on the list, summer is coming, and we are thrilled to be able to come to as many events as we can. If you would like to have us at your event, please let us know. We will be happy to do whatever we can to cover it. I am sorry but we are limited to how many events we can cover on a day. If you would like to be published and cover events yourself, please let us know. Also, if you have a bike that you would like featured, or are a model who would like to be featured, please let us know.
Anyone that is going to an event and wants to share it with us please e-mail us at thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com. If you Happy riding, and keep the wheels on the ground. would like to join us in sales, covering events and getting published please let us know. thebikerstradingpost@gmail.com
Harley Davidson of Erie Annual Swap Meet May 22, 2016 Drove up from home in the rain most of the way. I kept asking why are we even going but the fishing poles in the back must have told a story. Around Edinboro the skies opened up and the sun came out, making this a great day for a swap meet and fishing. Kelly and his great group up there always put on a fine event. Looking forward to Bikefest July 9-17, 2016

The blond and the Alliator A young blonde was on vacation in the depths of Louisiana. She wanted a pair of real alligator shoes in the worst way, but she didn't want to pay the high prices the local vendors were asking. After becoming very frustrated with the "no haggle" attitude of one of the shopkeepers, the blonde shouted, "Maybe I'll just go out and catch my own alligator so I can get a pair of shoes at a reasonable price!" The shopkeeper said, "By all means, be my guest. Maybe you'll luck out and catch yourself a big one!" Determined, the blonde turned and headed for the swamps, set on catching herself an alligator. Later in the day, the shopkeeper is driving home, when he spots the young woman standing waist deep in the water, shotgun in hand. Just then, he sees a huge 9-foot alligator swimming quickly toward her. She takes aim, kills the creature and with a great deal of effort hauls it on to the swamp bank. Lying nearby were several more of the dead creatures. The shopkeeper watches in amazement. Just then the blonde flips the alligator on its back, and frustrated, shouts out, "Darn, this one isn't wearing any shoes either!"

Proclamation Run On May 7th, Lawrance County A.B.A.T.E. held its annual Proclamation Run in celebration of May being Motorcycle Awareness Month. It stated at 11:30 AM with about 100 motorcycles given a police escorted ride from the Burg Bar in West Pittsbrug to the Lawrence County Courthouse to have a reading of the proclamation. This year had a special meaning to the run because it was the third anniversary of the death of 68year old Daniel Gallatin of New Castle. Dan Gallatin was killed in 2013 when he was rear-ended by an SUV driven by Laura Gargiulo of Volant who was texting at the time. Gargiulo pled guilty to charges of texting while driving and involuntary manslaughter. She was only made to pay a $50 fine and serve a month in jail followed by house arrest with periods of work release, and probation. At the court house Jaret Gibbons spoke to about 225 people about House Bill 853 that he introduced in March of 2015. It would allow additional sentences of up to five years when drivers are convicted of vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter, or aggravated assault by vehicle. According to Penn DOT there were 59 Pennsylvanians killed in distracted driving incidents in 2013 After the reading of the proclamation, they headed back to the West Pittsburg ball fields. A free public safety event followed from 12 to 3 p.m. at the ball fields, including food, a DJ and various vendors.

Amanda at Juggernaut Ink
Juggernaut Ink has a wide range of artists who can handle any style from traditional to realism and everything in between. Justin Schultz, a self taught tattooer, started tattooing in 2008 and joined the team at Heavy Hand Tattoo in Greensburg back in 2010, where he honed his craft learning from many different artists along the way, like Duke Miller, Bill "Camel" Moran and Rick "Aggro" Janus, who he worked alongside until 2013, when he decided to make the jump and open up his own shop. Schultz specializes in bright, bold, colorful designs with hints of old school techniques, and new school style which he has dubbed "middle school," being a style in between the two. But he is versatile in many styles, from black and grey fine line to portrait work, as Juggernaut Ink is a street shop, so you have to be prepared for whatever walks through the door. Also doing about 3 cover ups a week, he is ready to handle anything that is thrown his way. Handling day to day shop business and the body piercing department, Michael "Grim" Welsh has been with Juggernaut Ink since the day they opened, poking holes and paying bills, not to mention keeping the shop stocked up and running like a well oiled machine. Michael, who got his start at Studio 30 in Irwin, Pa, does everything from simple piercings to dermal anchors as well as flesh suspension and everything in between. Though artists come and go, Schultz found a solid crew and they are cranking out awesome work day after day in the heart of downtown Jeannette. Among those artist are Amie Struzzi and Brian Rindt, who both joined the crew in 2014. Brian got his start in 2012 at Apocalypse tattoo in Export, Pa, specializing in fine line black, and grey he joined the Juggernaut Ink crew in Oct 2014 and continues making clients happy with his artwork on a daily basis. Amie Struzzi also got her start at Apocalypse tattoo in Export, Pa in 2013 and along with Rindt joined the crew in
Amanda at Juggernaut Ink
Oct 2014. Struzzi is well-rounded in all styles from freehand lettering to American traditional tattooing, but enjoys doing soft black and grey, and bold colorful comic book style designs the most, as she has been a huge comic book fan writing and drawing them as long as she could hold a pencil. Struzzi is a hungry young artist with the drive and artistic ability to go very far in this industry. And then there is Dana "of the Dead" Dishong, who is an up-and-coming artist in her first year as a full time artist and taking the tattoo world by storm. Dishong who apprenticed under Schultz has a very unique style of colorful pin up dead girls and all things zombie. Dishong and Schultz have been one another's clients for several years. Dishong would trade her painting to Schultz for tattoo work, and when Schultz opened Juggernaut Ink, Dishong got her shot at the shop that was already lined with her paintings. Showing no signs of stopping, Dishong continues to grow and develop her skills every day and welcomes everyone to come check her out! The newest member of the crew, Christian Levkus, started in march of 2016. Levkus started tattooing in 2010 after attending art school and not being happy with where it was going. He excels in high depth black and grey, and is also well rounded in crisp, script lettering and solid color as well. Alongside traditional tattooing, Levkus has impeccable skill with single needle poke tattoos that and has an undeniable eye for all things art. Juggernaut Ink also does a lot of charity fundraising. They host a "painting for presents" art auction every year and auction off art to buy toys for Toys for Tots, and they donate to numerous charities. They sponsor multiple sports teams in Jeanette every year, including a youth soccer team named the Juggertots, and a knee high basketball team that are back to back league champs. They are active in the community, and sponsor two adult league softball teams, and host an annual field trip for preschoolers where kids tour the shop, and get fake tattoos and sticker piercings.
Amanda at Juggernaut Ink
Amanda at Jaggernaut Ink Amanda had this information for us about her tattoo’s I got my first tattoo when I was 17. Schultz didn't do it, but he's in the process of covering it up. Every tattoo I have that is finished has been done by Justin. My other leg is going to be Disney themed and my back is going to be a picture that Jim Peticca drew. He is an artist that has helped Justin out along the way and a great friend. Obviously Schultz is my favorite tattoo artist. Most of my tattoos are just random things that we put together. I let my daughter pick a few things out, too, and we're just going to keep going until I run out of room.

A look back to Thunder in the Cascades 2013 Tattoos are always a hot topic at Thunder in the Cascades. Tattoos are a big part of biker culture, and over the weekend, it seems like everyone present has at least one. I talked with dozens of people over the weekend about their art, and nearly everyone could give me a name and location of their artist, along with stories that went along with them. 2013 brought us a contest to find the best tattoos at the rally. There were more than 20 people who signed up, anxious to show off their art. If they had waited until Saturday they would have had twice as many entrants, due to the weather delaying the large turnout we saw later in the weekend.
I have been going to the Thunder in the Cascades for 21 years now and enjoyed 2013, hanging with the same people that I did in 1994, my son Ronnie and the ever so lovely Barbie, 2013 Thunder had Joe Smith joining the management team after working at the registration for the past 12 years. The weather was very uncooperative that year,
The art showed a wide variety; the most unique piece at the contest was Doug Altman's scorpion done on his back. This was the single largest tattoo present, and showed an amazing amount of detail. The scorpion was done by Chris Blinston, of Coral Springs, Florida. One of the highlights for me was seeing Maria, and her husband Randy, who both entered. They were quick to share that their ink was done by the same artist at Ink Assassins. While their pieces don't exactly match in theme, they look great next to each other, and seeing so much ink from the same artist was a treat. Another treat was seeing Tim, sporting his many portrait tattoos all over his body, and
but in between rain storms the near capacity crowd was out and about having a good time with their family, friends and many new acquaintances. I met a lot of new people that I hope to have as friends for many years to come. Year 19 moved back to the Lawrence County Fairgrounds, giving a lot more flat space and many buildings to
both of his motorcycles on his forearms. He explained to me that each one had an outline traced, but that the details of each face were done entirely freehand. The portraits are a surprising quality. While we were talking, his son stood next to him, and showed us an identical portrait, also done freehand by the same artist. The contest may not have had many participants compared to the masses of people at the rally, but the art was truly top notch. Audience participation narrowed it down to the single best woman's tattoos, but it was impossible to pick between three men, and the three finalists each walked away with a prize.
hide from the storms and extreme sun. This year had all of the pleasures that we like at Thunder, like the Wet T-Shirt Contest, Bike Games, The Bull, a Stripper Pole and the best bands that they have had for years that packed the dance floor every night. I am now looking for the 22th anniversary on June 29th through July 3rd,, where I know

Erie Bike Night Photography by Kenny Sturm eriebikerphotos.com May 27th was the first of two bike nights in Erie in 2016. Hundreds of bikers from across the region gathered at some of the 37 bars & restaurants for live music and great food. The weather was perfect for the event. Erie is one of the few locations in the nation that allow open public consumption of alcohol. The final bike night is scheduled for Friday, September 2nd from 6 p.m. on some downtown streets during the event.
10 p.m. Cars are prohibited from parking
Humor to relieve stress Why Should I Drink at Work 1. It's an incentive to show up. 2. It reduces stress. 3. It leads to more honest communications. 4. It reduces complaints about low pay. 5. It cuts down on time off because you can work with a hangover. 6. Employees tell management what they think, not what management wants to hear. 7. It helps save on heating costs in the winter. 8. It encourages carpooling. 9. Increases job satisfaction because if you have a bad job you don't care. 10. It eliminates vacations because people would rather come to work. 11. It makes fellow employees look better. 12. It makes the cafeteria food taste better. 13. Bosses are more likely to hand out raises when they are wasted. 14. Salary negotiations are a lot more profitable. 15. If something does something stupid on the job, it will be quickly forgotten.
The Drunken Wino The drunken wino was stumbling down the street with one foot on the curb and one foot in the gutter. A cop pulled up and said, "I've got to take you in, sir. You're obviously drunk" The wasted wino asked, "Ociffer, are ya absolutely sure I'm drunk?" "Yeah, buddy, I'm sure," said the copper. "Let's go." Obviously relieved, the wino said "That's a relief - I thought I was a cripple."
Humor to relieve
Humor to relieve stress A Guy Walks Into The Bar A guy walks into a bar with his dog and says, "I'll have a Scotch and water and my dog would like a whiskey sour." The bartender says, "Sorry, we don't allow animals in here." The dog replies, "Hey, I'm tired of being discriminated against. Just give me a drink." The bartender says, "Oh, no, not another ventriloquist with the old talking dog trick. Both of you, get out of here!" "No, no, no, this isn't a trick, I promise you," says the man, "I tell you what, I'll go for a walk around the block and you talk to Spot here." The man leaves and the bartender sees him turn the corner. "Now, can I have my drink." says the dog. The bartender is amazed. "Sure you can and it's on the house! Listen, can you do me a favour? My wife works next door at the cafe. It'll make her day if you go in and order a cup of coffee. Here's ten bucks and you can keep the change afterwards." "Okay." says the dog and he takes the ten dollars and leaves. Ten minutes go by and the dog doesn't come
