editor’s note Well. This took a turn, didn’t it? In 2019, all of us in the wedding industry would saying, “2020 is going to be huge!” We all meant that weddings would be thriving as we entered a new era of ’20s. As we all now know, 2020 would be memorable for very different reasons! It’s my feeling that this year was about things bigger than our selves. The world was crying out for a shift in focus. I feel it’s our obligation to look around at the world we’ve been wading through, open our eyes wide enough to see even what’s in our blind spots.

To those of you who were forced to change your wedding plans, I’m so sorry for your disappointment. Our industry has suffered on all sides with vendors losing months of income and looking at a very difficult year. The many conversations I’ve had with both vendors and couples have been both heartbreaking and heartwarming, as the vast majority of people have approached the situation with an abundance of compassion. To all the wonderful people in this industry we call wedding, you are an inspiration. We know we are among the most resilient out there, and when we are put in hot water we steep into some strong tea. Keep going, my friends, we’ve got this. Love,
