We started 2023 off with a break and then got busy painting, repairing, ordering new this and that We held our semi annual strategy session and business review and that has led us to some new ideas that we can share with you here It feels so great to freshen up the spaces and build new ones (yes, you hear that right!)

However, more importantly, we started up the industry group called "friends w/benefits" and saw many of you at the January 18th kick off get together There is never time at an event to connect so we were thrilled to see the support for this simple format Peek inside this newsletter for the update and a link to join the newsletter - let's keep the industry connected!

Since inception in 1993, Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality (O&B) has grown into one of Canada's leading restaurant and event groups. We had a few questions....

With roots in Toronto, when did O&B arrive on the Alberta scene and why? Oliver and Bonacini first opened its doors to Calgarians in July 2016, with the inception of the Guild Restaurant The Calgary project came to fruition as a result of a successful collaboration between O&B and the Hudson Bay Company when creating the Arcadian Event Centre, at HBC’s Queen Street store in downtown Toronto. Because of the Arcadian, the Calgary project was born.

Quite a success story so how would you describe your "secret business recipe"?

Our esteemed founders, Peter Oliver and Michael Bonacini, built O&B on a foundation of true passion for hospitality. Our team is committed to the process of excelling and are always setting the bar higher for ourselves. Our “secret recipe” has simply always been focused on providing an unforgettable guest experience and incredible culinary offerings.

Do you have a signature dish for catering?

Hard to choose just one! We are very proud of our Braised Short Rib and our founder’s Carrot Cake.

What are your core values and can you give an example of how that shows up in food and service?

Our core values are;

Inspired Quality Being foodies, serving the best ingredients, and being extremely detailed, Emotional Service. Building trust and strong client relationships, Personal Energy. Having kick-ass creativity and empowering each other to make decisions, and Collective Genius Having complete synergy with everyone we work with) Our intention is to create a aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaunique personal experiences for all of our clients.
