Glazing and panels by Britone Britone Aluminium and Glazing’s involvement with the DTH Waterfront project was twofold: firstly with Pindan Modular and the supply and installation of 145 frameless hinged shower enclosures and framed fixed panels to prefabricated bathroom pods.

The second phase of works was a further 96 frameless enclosures at the hotel construction site on Barrack Street.

Through frequent site visits to monitor progress and close liaison with supervisors by Britone’s senior account manager David Bone, the project was managed without any delays despite its large scope.

Dealing with Pindan and SKS was smooth and professional on this project, and Britone look forward to working with them in the future.

Britone Aluminium & Glazing is at the forefront of shower screen, mirror, sliding robe and painted glass splashback manufacturing and has been since its establishment in 1990.

Pindan Pre-Contracts Manager James Allingame said the integrated property and construction group was delighted to have partnered with SKS Group on DoubleTree by Hilton, Perth Waterfront.

“This is the second DoubleTree by Hilton hotel Pindan has built modular bathroom pods for in recent years, with the design of hotel rooms layouts lending themselves to having the bathrooms built off site as complete modules, before being brought to site during the construction phase of the building,” he said.

As a site built literally over the Swan River, storage space and work areas for the Perth waterfront property was always going to be a challenge, so off-site construction was of considerable benefit.

These benefits include a reduced number of workers on-site, reduced waste on-site, factory built quality control and reduced storage of materials on-site. Because of these benefits, especially for bathroom pods, the aim is to reduce the overall build time which ultimately provides cost savings. www.pindan.com.au
