SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN! CAUSEWAY IS COLLECTING NEW UNWRAPPED TOYS FOR BRANDON’S ELVES.
Manahawkin- The season of giving is once again upon us. This hectic time of year is when everyone is running around looking for the perfect gift and traveling to spend time with their loved ones. But for some, this time of year brings stress and sadness. Not everyone is fortunate enough to give their children the Christmas they deserve. That is where the Christmas miracle, Brandon’s Elves, comes into play. Brandon’s Elves collects toys for children right here in Ocean County. Brandon’s Elves work as a volunteer to the Ocean County Board Of Social Services for their Holiday Program. Their main purpose is to provide assistance to families in Ocean County, NJ, by providing their children with a Christmas. They hand pick toys for each child based on their likes and the toys donated by the community which has helped them in many ways. Each child is getting a customized holiday experience with the help from volunteer staff who sort through all the toys. They help all children in need, from infants to 18 years of age. This compassionate organization has been established to remember Brandon Holt who was only six years old when he lost his life to a tragic and preventable gun accident in 2013. Brandon loved Christmas, like most little kids, and naively thought that Santa visited and left presents for every little boy and girl. We are grateful that Brandon’s mom, Christine Holt, was able to turn this tragedy into triumph. Last year Brandon’s Elves helped

approximately 500 children receive the Christmas they deserve. This year they will be helping about 900 children right here in Ocean County. The Causeway Family of Dealerships is happy to help Brandon’s Elves for the second year by placing collection boxes at every showroom and providing a space for the volunteers to organize all donations. This past year Brandon’s Elves started a new program called the All Stars Program where they pay registration fees for families in need in order for the children to play sports like football and cheerleading. This year they were able to pay for 30 children to participate in sports and extracurricular activities. Please visit brandonselves.org if interested in learning more about the program or to donate. We are truly amazed by Christine’s efforts to help children in Ocean County have joy in their life, and for that we thank her. How can you help? Donate a new, unwrapped toy and drop it off at any

WOBM Christmas Classic Causeway Family of Dealerships 35th year as a participating sponsor!

My holiday season is likely a bit different than yours because many years ago I had this idea to host a high school basketball tournament. It wasn’t really a big deal, just eight boys teams playing games over three days after Christmas at Ocean County College. That’s how the WOBM Christmas Classic began in 1984 and flash forward to 2018 and that “little” tournament has grown into what is likely the largest holiday basketball event in New Jersey.

Since high school basketball practice officially began Monday this seems like a good time to announce that the 35th annual WOBM Christmas Classic tips off on the weekend of December 22-23 at the RWJBarnabas Health Arena on the campus of Toms River High School North. Presented by InVision Eye Care, the tournament features the same field of 32 teams from a year ago who will play 52 games over 7 days leading up to the championship games on December 30th.
Back to defend their titles are the Manasquan boys and Manchester girls and they each return the tournament MVP’s from last December in Warriors senior Brad McCabe and Hawks sophomore Destiny Adams. On Sunday, December 9th the 32 head coaches will gather at The Villa, across from The Office Restaurant and Lounge in Toms River to seed the teams and that will determine the first round pairings. The 16 girls teams will play their first round games on Saturday, December 22nd with the boys opening round the following day. We have made some format changes for this year. All first-round games will be played in the RWJBarnabas Health Arena and the boys and girls quarterfinals will all be played on Thursday, December 27th with all games again played in the main arena. The High School North gym will only be used for some consolation games. We are also delighted to announce our partnership with InVision Eye Care which has been around about as many years as the tournament itself. Founded by Dr. Edward Hedaya the practice has grown at their facility in Lakewood but their core mission has not changed in providing outstanding eye care for life. We’re delighted to have them a part of this year’s event. Look for more information in the days ahead at wobm.com and shoresportsnetwork.com.

HANUKKAH?
Chanukah is the Jewish eight-day, wintertime “festival of lights,” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods. The Hebrew word Chanukah means “dedication,” and is thus named because it celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple (as you’ll read below). Also spelled Hanukkah (or variations of that spelling), the Hebrew word is actually pronounced with a guttural, “kh” sound, kha-nu-kah, not tcha-new-kah. What Chanukah Commemorates In the second century BCE, the Holy Land was ruled by the Seleucids (SyrianGreeks), who tried to force the people of Israel to accept Greek culture and beliefs instead of mitzvah observance and belief in G‑d. Against all odds, a small band of faithful Jews, led by Judah the Maccabee, defeated one of the mightiest armies on earth, drove the Greeks from the land, reclaimed the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and rededicated it to the service of G‑d. When they sought to light the Temple’s Menorah (the sevenbranched candelabrum), they found only a single cruse of olive oil that had escaped contamination by the Greeks. Miraculously, they lit the menorah and the one-day supply of oil lasted for eight days, until new oil could be prepared under conditions of ritual purity. To commemorate and publicize these miracles, the sages instituted the festival of Chanukah.
How Chanukah Is Observed At the heart of the festival is the nightly menorah lighting. The menorah holds nine flames, one of which is the shamash (“attendant”), which is used to kindle the other eight lights. On the first night, we light just one flame. On the second night, an additional flame is lit. By the eighth night of Chanukah, all eight lights are kindled. Special blessings are recited, often to a traditional melody, before the menorah is lit, and traditional songs are sung afterward. A menorah is lit in every household (or even by each individual within the household) and placed in a doorway or window. The menorah is also lit in synagogues and other public places. In recent years, thousands of jumbo menorahs have cropped up in front of city halls and legislative buildings, and in malls and parks all over the world. We recite the special Hallel prayer daily, and add V’Al HaNissim in our daily prayers and in the Grace After Meals, to offer praise and thanksgiving to G‑d for “delivering the strong into the hands of the weak, the many into the hands of the few ... the wicked into the hands of the righteous.” When Is Chanukah? Chanukah begins on the eve of Kislev 25 and continues for eight days. On the civil calendar, it generally coincides with the month of December. Chanukah 2018 runs from Dec. 2-10. www.chabad.org
KWANZAA HISTORY Dr. Maulana Karenga, professor and chairman of Black Studies at California State University, Long Beach, created Kwanzaa in 1966. After the Watts riots in Los Angeles, Dr. Karenga searched for ways to bring African-Americans together as a community. He founded US, a cultural organization, and started to research African “first fruit” (harvest) celebrations. Karenga combined aspects of several different harvest celebrations, such as those of the Ashanti and those of the Zulu, to form the basis of Kwanzaa. The name Kwanzaa is derived from the phrase “matunda ya kwanza” which means “first fruits” in Swahili. Each family celebrates Kwanzaa in its own way, but celebrations often include songs and dances, African drums, storytelling, poetry reading, and a large traditional meal. On each of the seven nights, the family gathers and a child lights one of the candles on the Kinara (candleholder), then one of the seven principles is discussed. The principles, called the Nguzo Saba (seven principles in Swahili) are values of African culture which contribute to building and reinforcing community among African-Americans. Kwanzaa also has seven basic symbols which represent values and concepts reflective of African culture. An African feast, called a Karamu, is held on December 31. The candle-lighting ceremony each evening provides the opportunity to gather and discuss the meaning of Kwanzaa. The first night, the black candle in the center is lit (and the principle of umoja/ unity is discussed). One candle is lit each evening and the appropriate principle is discussed.
Seven Principles The seven principles, or Nguzo Saba are a set of ideals created by Dr. Maulana Karenga. Each day of Kwanzaa emphasizes a different principle. Unity: Umoja (oo–MO–jah) To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race. Self-Determination: Kujichagulia (koo–gee–cha–goo–LEE–yah) To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves, and speak for ourselves. Collective Work and Responsibility: Ujima (oo–GEE–mah) To build and maintain our community together and make our brother’s and sister’s problems our problems and to solve them together. Cooperative Economics: Ujamaa (oo–JAH–mah) To build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses and to profit from them together. Purpose: Nia (nee–YAH) To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness. Creativity: Kuumba (koo–OOM–bah) To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it. Faith: Imani (ee–MAH–nee) To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle. www.history.com

9 TIPS FOR LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
A few classic Christmas experiences most of us will be more than familiar with: • Spending hours untangling the Christmas tree lights. • Arguing over what to watch on TV.
• Regretting the hours spent wrapping the kids’ presents only for them to tear them open in seconds. • Panic buying last-minute gifts when the shops are packed with people in the same situation. • Every year you promise yourself, never again, and every year, it’s exactly the same. We’re to help with the last of these. Here’s some great pieces of advice for last-minute Christmas shopping – how to save yourself time, money and stress! Go in with a plan Before leaving the house, make a list of who you need gifts for, how much you want to spend on each gift, and also which shops you need to visit, so that you can plot a route. By doing this, you lessen the risk of overspending or forgetting anyone. If you can, shop earlier in the day rather than later as the shelves are likely to have been restocked overnight, and the crowds will be smaller.
Wrapping
Wrapping Christmas gifts can take almost as long as shopping for them. Many big shopping centers will offer a free wrapping service, which if you don’t mind waiting around for a while is a big bonus. Some online shops will also offer this service for a supplement. Points mean prizes If you have a supermarket points card, Christmas is the optimum time to cash them in whether you’re buying ingredients for the meal, or last-minute gifts. Re-Gifting You shouldn’t feel guilty about re-gifting, unless you’re returning last year’s gift to the person who gave it to you of course! If you’ve received something that you’ll never use, but that would be perfect for someone else, then it saves waste and frees up some space in your wardrobe. Choose carefully Perfume is one of the most popular Christmas gifts, and also one of the most expensive. There are many ways to make it easier on your pocket though, as this guide explains. Also, avoid buying people clothes. This is tricky to get right even if you know the person and their tastes well, and clothes rank among the most returned Christmas gifts.
Time it right for bargains Many shops will already have started discounting by Christmas Eve, so if you have a specific gift in mind then you might get lucky by leaving it this late to shop. There is a balance to be struck though – the best bargains are usually to be found the later you wait, but of course you risk finding what you want is all sold out. Shop online Many of us now choose to do all of our Christmas shopping online – it’s far less stressful, and you can visit 10 stores in 15 minutes from the comfort of your sofa. If you’re going this route, ensure that you opt for guaranteed delivery before Christmas. Many stores will provide a convenient click ‘n’ collect service if you can’t be at home to receive packages, and also remember that online offers can change on a daily basis, so it’s worth checking regularly for better deals in the days leading up to your deadline.
Congratulations Southern Regional Football Alum (Davidson Football -NC) Clay Robinson on being named Honorable Mention for the 2018 FCS Pioneer Football Division. Picture provided by Davidson Athletics. A great honor for a solid collegiate career. #RamPride
Think small Smaller, independent stores are usually less busy, with more-organized shelves, plus the staff will have the time to help you find the right gift. These kind of shops are really struggling nowadays so even if you just buy a few things from independents, you’re making a positive difference.
Congratulations Southern Regional Football Seniors Joe Guglielmo, Sean MacGillvary, Liam Andersen and DuPreme Holland on being named 1st team Shore Conference Constitution Division for the 2018 season. #RamPride
Gift Cards Always a good idea if you don’t have any other ideas, or want to be sure your loved one gets exactly what they want, gift cards are sadly not as reliable as they once were. There have been several scandals recently of big retailers going bust and not honouring gift cards, and they also usually carry an expiration date too, so be wary. www.tinggly.com
WHY SHOULD I USE A REAL ESTATE AGENT WHEN SELLING MY HOME?
This is a question many people wonder as they begin to get ready to list their home. Here is a list of reasons why you should use a real estate agent.
1. Setting listing price - A real estate agent has access to recent sales in your area and also selling trends. They also know the market in your area and can help you set an accurate list price. 2. Marketing your home - An agent has access to have your listing marketed in many places, including the Multiple Listing Service, other real estate websites, etc. 3. Negotiations - An agent is trained and experienced in the negotiation process and can guide you through each step of it. 4. Paperwork - There is a lot of paperwork to be completed in a real estate transaction. The standard contract itself is over 10 pages. An agent has the
experience with filling them out and also any other paperwork or forms that may be needed. 5. Referrals - An agent can refer you to home inspectors, contractors, attorneys, etc. Most agents have a list of several options of reputable companies for you to choose from.
Congrats Southern Regional Football Alum Patrick Ferraro on helping Sacred Heart University to the 2018 Northeast Conference Football Championship. #RamPride
Field Hockey
6. Experience - An agent has experience with the entire sales process and is able to guide you through each step of the way. If you are looking to sell your home, give the Muldowney Team a call.

It’s not uncommon for business owners to make big purchases before year-end to get the tax write-off. This couldn’t be truer when it comes to buying a car, truck, RV or van for your business. However, making that big purchase isn’t always the best longterm tax decision, not to mention the wisest economic decision. Both are critical issues that I will explore below. Essentially, there are two main options to write off auto expenses: mileage or actual. The mileage method is quite obvious, but the definition of “actual expenses” can get a little complicated. In fact, the actual method can encompass leasing a vehicle, as well fuel, insurance, repairs, maintenance and even depreciation. But before we get into the strategy of strolling into the auto dealership on Dec. 31 to buy that new car or truck, let’s get down the basics. The mileage method On any of your vehicles, you can use mileage as an excellent method to expense the business use of your vehicle. In 2018, potential mileage deductions are as follows: • Business: $0.54/mile • Charity: $0.14/mile • Medical and moving: $0.19/mile • Personal or commuting: No deduction Ninety percent of my tax clients use mileage because it’s simple, easy and a large deduction. For instance, keep in mind that a car payment is not a deduction. When you compare mileage to “actual,” it’s important to understand what is “actually” deductible if you use the actual method. Actual expenses
The pros and cons of depreciation Again, the problem with the actual method is that the depreciation expense can be tricky to understand and calculate. It will vary dramatically based on the type of vehicle, and the business use percentage still plays a big factor. For example, depreciation is drastically limited for cars, and even if you buy a big truck, you have to still track mileage to show the percentage you use the vehicle for business. However, it starts to get better and better when the vehicle weighs more than 6,000 pounds. But keep in mind there are different rules for SUVs and the type of truck you may drive. The exciting part is that this depreciation deduction really opens up for large trucks, vans and RVs in certain instances. An SUV or truck with a bed that’s less than six feet. Both of these types of vehicles are treated the same for tax purposes. Yes, Congress and the IRS feel that many of these trucks with shorter truck beds are more like SUVs than trucks, thus they fall into the same tax category. Now, the allowable depreciation for these types of vehicles, on top of actual expenses described above, is that you can take up to $25,000 as a deduction right off the purchase price, whether the truck or SUV is new or used. You also get to take the standard annual depreciation deduction of around $3,000 in the year of purchase. This little $25,000 write-off is often a perfect fit for a business owner looking for one of these types of vehicles, and it can exceed the mileage deduction in the first few years you own the vehicle.

The second method in deducting automobile expenses is to write off actual expenses for the vehicle. You will now need to track your fuel, repairs, maintenance, insurance and tires, as well as “depreciate” the vehicle or a portion of the lease payment if leasing.
CASH FOR YOUR CAR!
At first glance, business owners often think that the actual method is a big write-off because they see all of these expenses going out the door with the car payment; however, the car payment amount is irrelevant in the analysis. Thus, you have to bank on the depreciation deduction to make this strategy really pay off, which is drastically limited with cars but can pay off big time with trucks, SUVs, vans and RVs (see below).
ECONOMIC TIP: From a dollars and cents standpoint, this strategy really pays off if you indeed want and need one of these types of vehicles -- and you don’t plan on putting a ton of miles on it or trading in the vehicle in three to four years. But for those of you planning to put on a ton of miles or keep the vehicle longer than the average American, the mileage method will give you more bang for your buck in the long run.
Also, keep in mind that when you choose to use the actual method, you’re now stuck with this procedure and you can’t use the mileage method again with that car -- there is no going back!
Again, keep in mind the business use percentage of the depreciation and all of the actual expenses (fuel, repairs, maintenance, etc.). For example, say you have $20,000 in annual expenses and depreciation, and 80 percent of your use of the vehicle is for business. Thus, you are allowed a $16,000 deduction. Moreover, keep in mind that you have show net income in your business. The extra depreciation can’t put you into a “loss” to deduct against other income.
Do you have a 2001 or newer vehicle with 150,000 miles or less? All makes, all models. Give us a call!
609-713-6706
Finally, from a bookkeeping standpoint, it’s important to pay for all of the expenses I described above from your business account so that you don’t miss any of them come tax time. Don’t co-mingle the payment of these auto expenses with your personal account. It can be a nightmare to try and dissect.

YEAR-END TIP: PURCHASE AN SUV OR TRUCK FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND TAKE UP TO A $25,000 DEDUCTION RIGHT OFF THE TOP. Large trucks and vans. If the truck or van weighs more than 6,000 pounds and the truck has a sixfoot bed (or greater) or is an enclosed delivery truck, then the $25,000 SUV limitation does not apply. In fact, you can deduct up to $500,000 for the cost of the vehicle in the year of purchase (limited to the business use percentage described previously). Because of the higher cost of these vehicles, it’s much more likely the actual method will far exceed the mileage method in the long run. This is also because the operational costs, such

as gas and repairs, can be higher with these more expensive types of vehicles. Though again, keep in mind that these large depreciation deductions in the first year are limited to your net
income. Therefore, a more profitable or seasoned business is going to get a better write-off than a company in startup mode that is not showing a profit yet.
PURCHASE A NEW CAUSEWAY FORD COMMERCIAL VEHICLE FOR A POTENTIAL TAX SAVINGS OPPORTUNITY call Sam at 609-713-6925 The new 2017 IRS Tax Cuts and Jobs Act allows qualifying businesses that invest in new equipment to potentially write-off up to the entire purchase cost of one or more business vehicles on their 2018 IRS tax returns.* This includes qualifying new Ford Commercial vehicles such as Ford Transit, ESeries, F-150 or F-250/350 Super Duty® trucks. For more information, visit IRS.gov and contact your tax professional. Shown without standard antenna. Vehicle shown with aftermarket equipment. *Under Bonus Depreciation in Section 168(k) of the Internal Revenue Code, companies may be eligible to fully expense the cost of trucks, vans and SUVs rated over 6,000-lbs. GVWR, when purchased for business use. Trucks and vans that are considered passenger vehicles, rated under 6,000-lbs. GVWR, are limited to $18,000 of depreciation in the year of purchase with normal MACRS depreciation on the remaining basis in the vehicle in subsequent years. A vehicle is not considered a passenger vehicle, and is thus not limited to the lower depreciation amounts, if it is considered a “qualified non-personal use vehicle”. Qualified non-personal use vehicles are vehicles that, by virtue of their nature or design, are not likely to be used more than a minimal amount for personal purposes. Examples of qualified non-personal use vehicles include 1) a vehicle that can seat nine-plus passengers behind the driver’s seat, 2) a heavy non-SUV vehicle with a cargo area of at least six feet in interior length or 3) a vehicle with a fullyenclosed driver’s compartment/cargo area, no seating behind the driver’s seat, and no body section protruding more than 30 inches ahead of the leading edge of the windshield. For more information, see IRC Section 280F(d)(7), Income Tax Reg., Sec. 1.280F-6(c)(3)(iii), Income Tax Reg. Sec. 1.274-5T(k), and Revenue Ruling 86-97, and contact your tax advisor for details. WINTER 2018
Seasons Greetings
Honda’s Female Fantastic Four!
With this, I took on a lot of new responsibilities that scared me every step of the way. Never being in the automotive business prior, I knew this was a challenge for me, but I was willing to give it my very best. Today, almost four years later, I am happy to say that I enjoy coming to work each and every day. I have made some of the best friendships along the way, from the coworkers I work beside, to my customers who have become great friends. If you or someone you know is in the market for a new or preowned vehicle, please give me a call. I can help you with Ford, Lincoln, Nissan, Honda and Hyundai. Join us for our end of year sales event that is going on now. I can be reached at 609-597-8083 ext. 1144. Happy Holidays from the Causeway Family!
Our four fantastic female sales consultants include: Deirdre Lipowski, Wendy Smith, Samantha Cesario and Lorissa Stambaugh. Deirdre Lipowski started her career at Causeway February of 2016. She quickly got promoted to lease retention manager! Wendy Smith, who started back in September of 1997 recently celebrated her 21st anniversary at Causeway. Samantha Cesario started her journey at Causeway back in September of 2015 in our Business Development Center. She moved onto the sales floor January of 2018. Lorissa Stambaugh also started in our BDC department in December of 2014. She moved to the sales floor in September of 2018.

BUSINESS
There’s no question that males dominate the automotive industry. It has been like that from the start. According to catalyst.org, in 2017 women made up only 21.8% of automotive dealers. If you were to walk into Causeway Honda you would notice that we are above the industry average. Four out of our thirteen sales consultants are women, which makes up about 30.7%. We are very grateful to have such smart and talented women as part of our sales team.
Hi, I’m Jennifer Maier of The Causeway Family of Dealerships. I have been part of the Ford and Lincoln Team since the Summer of 2015. In May of 2016 I was asked to take on a new position that was created for me, the Ford and Lincoln Lease Retention Manager.

8 Causeway Gazette 2019 NISSAN MAXIMA OFFERS REFRESHED DESIGN WITH BOLD, POWERFUL PERFORMANCE IMAGE, PLUS NISSAN SAFETY SHIELD 360 TECHNOLOGY WINTER 2018
LOS ANGELES – With its captivating performance stance, 19-inch diamond-cut wheels, boomerang signature LED lighting framing the enlarged V-motion grille, the new 2019 Nissan Maxima made an impressive debut today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The new Maxima also offers available Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of advanced driver-assist systems that supports the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision to redefine how cars are driven, powered and integrated into society. In the 2018 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, Maxima was ranked number one in the Large Car segment and was the second highest ranked model among all vehicles in the study. The 2019 Maxima also continues its reputation as an exciting near-luxury sports sedan with its standard 300-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine and sport-tuned steering, braking and suspension. The new 2019 Maxima embraces the visionary Nissan Intelligent Mobility philosophy – which provides technology in a way that moves people to a better world. For Maxima, this includes the availability of Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of six advanced active safety and driver-assist technologies designed to help provide 360 degrees of active driver assistance, crash avoidance and pedestrian detection. Safety Shield 360 includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking. For the 2019, it comes standard on Maxima Platinum and as part of the SR Premium Package. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is also available on the 2019 Altima, Rogue, Rogue Sport and Murano. It will be offered as standard equipment on one million new Nissan vehicles sold annually in the U.S. by 2021.
The interior retains the Maxima’s “Gliding Wing” interior layout that emphasizes the horizontal movement and easy access to all controls, but offers updated trim finishers and materials. Depending on grade level, the instrument panel, door panels, steering wheel insert, stitching, seat materials, headliner, pillars and A-pillar speaker grilles have been upgraded, providing a more premium look and feel. In addition to Safety Shield 360, the 2019 Maxima also expands the availability of Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), High Beam Assist (HBA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR). Maxima’s innovation Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA) is now standard on all grade levels. Refreshed exterior and interior Maxima’s aggressive, updated exterior appearance was created by Nissan Design America in La Jolla, Calif. and features a more voluminous front grille with a deeper V-motion flow that carries into the hood and down the body to the redesigned rear tail lamps and rear fascia. The standard jewel-like LED headlights and Nissan Signature Daytime Running Lights add to the Maxima’s premium, high performance appearance, along with the new, deep fascia design. The new rear fascia includes integrated quad-tip exhaust finishers, while a new sport rear spoiler is also added to the Maxima SR grade. New wheel designs have been developed for all five Maxima grade levels – capped off by the new 19-inch Hyper Silver Platinum Reserve Package wheels. In addition, a new premium exterior paint color, Sunset Drift, has been added to the Maxima color palette. Inside, the dramatic Maxima body is a driver-oriented cockpit and comfortable seating for all five occupants. Enhancing the Maxima’s already high level of quality and premium luxury appointments is a new seat insert pattern and charcoal headliner and pillars for SR and Platinum Reserve Package grades. The Platinum Reserve Package features special Rakuda Tan semi-aniline leather appointments, similar to that available on the Nissan GT-R Premium Interior Package.
“There’s crafted precision to the Maxima interior that has been enhanced for the 2019 model year. For example, the Maxima SR features new orange accent stitching, ‘Dynamic Diamond’ quilting, orange-accented Alcantara appointments and Dark Satin chrome finishers,” said Mohnke. The new Platinum Reserve Package interior offers Satin Bronze faceted interior finishers, diamond quilted Rakuda Tan semi-aniline leather appointments, Rakuda Tan steering wheel insert for a two-tone appearance and heated rear seats. Other interior enhancements include standard Rear Door Alert (RDA) for all grade levels, revised SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with Advanced Auto Features (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately) and revised Nissan Door to Door Navigation system, which is standard on all grades except S. Five grade levels, on sale in December The refreshed 2019 Nissan Maxima goes on sale at Nissan dealerships nationwide beginning in midDecember 2018. It will be offered in five well-equipped grade levels: S, SV, SL, the sporty SR and the top of the lineup Platinum. Just two options are available. The SR Premium Package includes Dual Panel Panoramic Moonroof, Safety Shield 360 technology, Intelligent Around View® Monitor and more. The Platinum Reserve Package features exclusive 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, heated rear seats and the Rakuda Tan semi-aniline interior treatment. ALL-NEW LINCOLN AVIATOR TAKES FLIGHT WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES, GRAND TOURING PERFORMANCE OPTION
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 28, 2018 – The all-new 2020 Lincoln Aviator touches down at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week with advanced technologies that let the luxury SUV kneel to greet you, scan the road ahead for uneven pavement, and allow you to drive away using your smartphone instead of a key.
The three-row, midsize premium utility elevates Lincoln’s design vision while delivering on Quiet Flight, a key brand concept that supports tenets of beauty, gliding, human and a crafted sanctuary. Lincoln Aviator will be available globally, entering the highest volume segment in the U.S., the midsize luxury market, and the third-highest volume segment in China. Also debuting is the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring, named for its gliding power and effortless performance. This marks the first time the company has combined a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine and advanced electrified hybrid technology capable of delivering smooth performance and instantaneous torque. Power, capability and choice Aviator offers the kind of capability premium clients require in a three-row SUV, with available all-wheel drive and a choice of gas or hybrid powertrain. The standard twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, paired with a 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission, is expected to deliver an impressive 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque for effortless acceleration. With the hybrid option, Aviator Grand Touring’s twin-turbocharged engine and advanced electrified technology is targeted to deliver even greater levels of performance. Projected to produce 450 horsepower and a massive 600 lb.-ft. of torque, the all-new Aviator Grand Touring is expected to deliver greater performance than many three-row, midsize luxury hybrid SUVs. Lincoln Drive Modes allow clients to further customize their drive experience, while a 12.3-inch standard configurable LCD instrument cluster confirms their choices with beautiful, easy-to-read dynamic graphics and prompts. In addition to Lincoln’s five signature settings – Normal, Conserve, Excite, Slippery and Deep Conditions – two new modes are engineered specifically for Aviator Grand Touring. These modes, Pure EV and Preserve EV, allow clients to choose when and how to best use their electric energy, while an enhanced Excite mode helps maximize performance. Client-focused, intuitive technologies Aviator delivers a wealth of intuitive technologies designed to assist the driver while enhancing the overall experience of the journey. Right from the start, its suspension system automatically lowers the vehicle to “greet” the driver, adding a new level of sophistication to Lincoln’s signature welcome lighting embrace. The convenience of this feature makes loading cargo easier as well.* The effortlessness of the overall experience continues as clients enter, using their compatible smartphone as a key to access their vehicle. Lincoln’s Phone As A Key technology, debuting in the all-new Aviator, is activated through the Lincoln Way™ app. It allows owners to lock and unlock, open the liftgate and, most importantly, start and drive the vehicle – all without a traditional key. Phone As A Key offers additional amenities. Drivers can recall individual
preferences for adjusting seat, mirror and steering column positions. Comfort and entertainment settings can be activated through the feature as well. If owners want to loan their Aviator to a family member or friend, the technology makes that equally effortless too, as up to four “keys” are provided with each vehicle in addition to the standard smart key fob. Should a phone battery go dead, a passcode can be entered on the standard exterior keypad to gain entry then a backup code can be entered on the center touch screen to start and drive the vehicle. If a phone is lost or stolen, Phone As A Key can be easily deleted, providing additional peace of mind for clients. Also new to Lincoln is an available technology that enables Aviator to “see” most potholes or uneven pavement and immediately make suspension adjustments to keep the ride as smooth as possible. Adaptive Suspension with Road Preview uses an advanced forward camera to constantly scan the road, seamlessly adjusting the suspension as needed.

Advanced under-floor battery packaging in the Grand Touring edition allows for all the benefits of an electrified powertrain without compromising luggage space or legroom. Other convenience features include an available wireless phone charging pad located in the front-row center armrest, while a handy media bin is available for the
front-row passenger. Multiple power outlets throughout the cabin and a standard Wi-Fi hotspot keep occupants connected wherever the journey may take them. “At Lincoln, we’re always thinking about the next, best way to elevate luxury for our clients,” says Falotico. “Aviator arrives at this perfect intersection – where strength and beauty meet performance and technology.” *Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and weight distribution. media.lincoln.com
