THE SONGBOOK ACADEMY®
Now in its eighth year, the Songbook Academy is a summer music intensive for young singers who have an interest in the Great American Songbook. It is the only program of its kind in the United States. High school students who love the music of classic Broadway shows, jazz, and popular music have the life-changing opportunity to work with music industry professionals, Broadway performers, and educators from the top university music and theatre programs in the country to learn about this uniquely American music. Though the Songbook Academy is perhaps the Songbook Foundation’s most visible educational program, the organization works throughout the year on a variety of other programs and initiatives that celebrate the Great American Songbook. This program is funded in part by a grant from the Efroymson Family Fund.
