2022/2023 SEASON BROCHURE
WELCOME Experience the 2022-23 Center Presents Season sponsored by Allied Solutions
Welcome to a new season of entertainment, enlightenment and experience at the Center for the Performing Arts! With the world’s top artists back on the road in full force, we’re launching our lineup with nearly 50 mainstage events, and we’ll be adding more as the 2022-2023 season continues. Making their Palladium debuts this year are the iconic West African singer Angelique Kidjo, jazz-pop pioneer Herb Alpert, R&B legends Tower of Power, comic ranter Lewis Black and national sweetheart Marie Osmond with an orchestra for the holidays. In fact, December will be bustling, with Michael Bolton, Canadian Brass, Celtic Woman, perennial favorites Dave Koz & Friends marking their 25th anniversary, and the return of the compelling stage production All Is Calm, based on true tales of World War I. Other returning faves include Hoosier-born classical heartthrob Joshua Bell, jazz veterans Chris Botti and Boney James, songsmiths Marc Cohn and Shawn Colvin (together!) and a free concert by some of the finest unsung musicians in America, the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus (a sure sellout).
Our Songbook Series includes the return of live performances at this summer’s Songbook Academy, an October appearance by the one-and-only Johnny Mathis and a spring concert from the Center’s artistic director, Michael Feinstein. New this year is a speaker series featuring experts from the pages of National Geographic, sharing their knowledge of wildlife and exotic corners of the world. Each of the three evening presentations is preceded by a morning matinee for local students. Indeed, the Center offers a variety of education and enrichment opportunities for people of all ages, from children’s music to adult reading clubs and comedy lessons. You can learn more about them on Page 32. The Center also is home to the Great American Songbook Foundation and its Exhibit Gallery (see Page 36), as well as six vibrant Resident Companies with their own upcoming seasons of music, theater and dance, as you’ll see on Page 38. We hope you can join us this season and experience everything the Center has to offer.
