The Great American Songbook Foundation’s annual Songbook Academy® is the only youth intensive dedicated to our nation’s timeless popular music. In this closing concert emceed by Michael Feinstein, these top high school vocalists vie for awards and opportunities to perform at prestigious venues across the country. THE PALLADIUM Celebrate and support the Center’s arts and education programming at our annual soiree, featuring the First Merchants Bank Cocktail Reception, dinner and live auction, after-parties, Chris Isaak and this year’s Songbook Hall of Fame inductions, led by Artistic Director and Songbook Foundation Founder Michael Feinstein. THE PALLADIUM Few groups can top Queen for musical virtuosity, operatic grandeur and sing-along pop appeal. Catch the official tribute band, created by original members Roger Taylor and Brian May, delivering hits like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Under Pressure,” “Killer Queen” and “Another One Bites the Dust.” They will rock you. THE PALLADIUM Led by original members Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden, these country-rock pioneers are known for such hits as “Mr. Bojangles” and “Fishin’ in the Dark.” Their influential 1972 album Will the Circle Be Unbroken is in the Grammy Hall of Fame and the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry. THE PALLADIUM Among the last of the great musicians who migrated from the Mississippi Delta to craft the electric Chicago blues style, seven-time Grammy Award winner Buddy Guy has inspired generations of rock guitarists. His new album The Blues Is Alive and Well features guest appearances by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck and James Bay. THE PALLADIUM Known for her confessional lyrics and gritty, soulful vocals, this Grammy and Academy Award winner has been one of rock’s most respected performers and songwriters for decades. While crafting more than 15 acclaimed albums, the Grammy-winning folk-rock duo Indigo Girls have built a multigenerational audience on the strength of their distinctive singing and writing styles and a catalog of tunes that have become contemporary classics, including “Galileo,” “Closer To Fine,” “Hammer and Nail” and “Least Complicated.” THE PALLADIUM Groundbreaking musician-composer Pat Metheny has won 20 Grammy Awards and countless “Best Jazz Guitarist” polls during his four-decade career. His current tour features a stellar band, with Antonio Sanchez on drums, Linda May Han Oh on bass and Gwilym Simcock on piano. THE PALLADIUM With a career spanning more than 30 years and 40 albums, this Bloomington native and Indiana University graduate is one of the most acclaimed violinists of his era. His honors have included the Avery Fisher Prize as well as Grammy, Mercury, Gramophone Classical Music and Echo Klassik awards. THE PALLADIUM PMJ has clocked nearly a billion YouTube views with viral videos that reimagine contemporary pop, rock and R&B hits in vintage styles from swing to doo-wop, ragtime to Motown. THE PALLADIUM Even in the psychedelic ‘60s, this British crooner scored a No. 1 hit in 11 countries with his romantic ballad “Release Me,” which spent a record-setting 56 weeks on the charts. He has since sold over 140 million records with hits such as “After the Lovin’” and “This Moment in Time.” THE PALLADIUM Dubbed “The President’s Own” when it debuted for Thomas Jefferson in 1801, the Marine Band is America’s longest-running professional musical organization. Once led by John Philip Sousa, it performs at hundreds of official events each year, as well as public concerts suited for all ages and tastes. Tickets available in early October. This North Carolina native grew up immersed in country music and first gained fame at age 19 as a contestant on American Idol. She has since released four critically acclaimed albums, with hits including “Best Days of Your Life,” “Red High Heels,” “I Wonder” and “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You.” THE PALLADIUM Born in Indianapolis, John Hiatt headed to Nashville at 18 and became one of the most respected songwriters in American rock and roots music. THE TARKINGTON Saxophonist and composer Boney James was a sideman for acts such as Morris Day and the Isley Brothers before launching a solo career that has sent 11 albums to the top of Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Albums chart. His honors have included four Grammy nominations, a Soul Train Award and two NAACP Image Award nominations. THE PALLADIUM Canadian singer-songwriter Royal Wood has drawn comparisons to Randy Newman and Tom Waits with tunes that evoke both Tin Pan Alley traditions and the SoCal folk-rock sound. He has received two Juno Award nominations and an iTunes Songwriter of the Year title. His new, 10th album is Ever After the Farewell. THE TARKINGTON The architect of the Beach Boys’ signature sound is revered as one of the most innovative and influential composers, arrangers and producers of the rock era. His songwriting credits include such indelible tunes as “Good Vibrations,” “God Only Knows,” “California Girls,” “Don’t Worry Baby” and “In My Room.” THE PALLADIUM The founding keyboardist, vocalist and chief songwriter for progressive pop-rockers Styx is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the band’s breakthrough album, The Grand Illusion, for which he penned the title track and the hit single “Come Sail Away.” He also is the author of ballads such as “Babe” and “Best of Times.” THE PALLADIUM

After 24 albums, six Grammy Awards, eight gold albums and one platinum album, saxophonist David Sanborn is known for a signature blend of jazz, pop and R&B, as well as forays into other genres. His latest project focuses on straight-ahead jazz with his new quintet. THE PALLADIUM Before lighting up TV screens with leading roles on NBC’s Smash and Sean Saves the World, Megan Hilty gained fame on Broadway as Glinda in Wicked, Doralee in 9 to 5: The Musical and Brooke in Noises Off. Her concerts feature songs from Smash, her own recordings and the Great American Songbook. THE PALLADIUM One of the world’s top orchestras celebrates the 100th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s immigration to the United States with a program that includes his Vocalise, Piano Concerto No. 2 and Symphonic Dances. RNO concerts air regularly on NPR, the European Broadcasting Union and Russia’s Kultura channel. THE PALLADIUM Backed by piano, Uilleann pipes, organ and fiddle, four male tenors and four female sopranos perform traditional tunes and contemporary favorites. The singers include veterans of Five Irish Tenors and Celtic Woman and graduates of the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Dance. THE PALLADIUM Based on Sado Island, Japan, Kodo is a 30-member performance ensemble focused on the taiko, a family of traditional Japanese drums made of wood and animal hide. This tour is the American premiere of the “Evolution” program, developed for the group’s 35th anniversary in 2016. THE PALLADIUM The daughter of late jazz pianist Hod O’Brien and singer Stephanie Nakasian, Veronica Swift is one of today’s top young jazz vocalists. She has headlined the Telluride Jazz Festival and guested with Michael Feinstein at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and she performs regularly at NYC’s famed Birdland nightclub. THE TARKINGTON A two-time inductee of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, this Grammy-winning rock legend is credited with classics such as CSN’s “Teach Your Children,” “Our House” and “Wasted on the Way.” His current trio tour is billed as “An Intimate Evening of Songs and Stories.” THE PALLADIUM

THE PALLADIUM Produced and led by illusionist David Thomas, this story-driven theatrical experience features world-class illusions, stunning costumes, beautiful set designs and an inspired soundtrack. The tale, suitable for all ages, follows a boy who dreams of being a performer and later finds an opportunity to realize his wish. THE TARKINGTON “The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook” returns with a special evening of timeless music. Known for his high-profile collaborations and his many projects for public radio and television, Feinstein is founder of the Great American Songbook Foundation and artistic director for the Center for the Performing Arts. THE PALLADIUM Led by violinist and Artistic Director Richard Tognetti, this internationally renowned 18-piece string orchestra performs classical masterworks alongside new commissions and innovative collaborations. Members sometimes use electric instruments, and only the cellists are seated, adding to the air of energy and individuality. THE PALLADIUM Grammy-winning tabla drum virtuoso Zakir Hussain is a champion of contemporary world music and one of the most acclaimed percussionists of his time, known for his collaborations with top jazz, rock and classical musicians. Joining the Indian master will be five players on other traditional instruments. THE PALLADIUM With glitzy period costumes and top-notch singers and musicians, Arrival has built a reputation as the world’s most convincing tribute to the Swedish pop group ABBA, one of the best-selling music acts of all time. Take a vacation to the ‘70s with hits including “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Waterloo” and “Take a Chance on Me.” THE PALLADIUM Marcus Roberts began teaching himself piano after losing his vision at age 5. By 21, he was touring with Wynton Marsalis, who calls him “the genius of the modern piano.” The Modern Jazz Generation is a 13-piece ensemble anchored by Roberts and his regular trio bandmates, drummer Jason Marsalis and bassist Rodney Jordan.
