“Those were very interesting times. We remember showing 100s of presentations throughout the country and also everyone believed this industry will not take off. Some even called us fools to talk about large automated plants from Europe that looked so expensive from the outside. It took us 16 months to get the first plant going. The learning that happened during that phase was incredible. It required a lot of self-belief, reading and believing in the vision that we had set for India that kept us going.”

“We have been serial entrepreneurs having been involved in setting up distribution networks, launching biodegradable plastics with our own patented technology, auto components manufacturing, etc. After working for multinationals and learning how to build businesses for them, I always wanted to start my own business. The government needs to set up a task force to understand how the waste can be a ‘resource’ and needs to work in that direction. The government’s traditional and compliance oriented approach to the subject has just started to change but a lot needs to be done.
