Jane (31) from America’s Got Talent, also known as Nightbirde, died after a long battle with cancer. Nightbirde captured audiences around the world with her stunning voice, tenacity, and faith amid pain. In a statement to American media, the family of the singer confirmed the news “with the deepest heartache” adding that “we, her family, are devastated by her passing and unimaginable loss.” The statement added, “those who knew her, enjoyed her larger-than-life personality and sense of humour. She had a witty joke for every occasion – even if the joke was on her. Her lasting legacy will be the gift of hope she gave to so many through her music and the strength she found in Jesus. We thank everyone for their messages of love and support.” For Nightbirde, God met her in her pain, and this message she shared openly and honestly on her personal blog and Instagram account.
This is what she wrote in one of her blog posts: “I am God’s downstairs neighbour, banging on the ceiling with a broomstick. I show up at His door everyday. Sometimes with songs, sometimes with curses. Sometimes apologies, gifts, questions, demands. Sometimes I use my keys under the mat to let myself in. I fear sometimes that when I die and meet with God, that He will say I disappointed Him, or offended Him, or failed Him… But one thing I know for sure is this: He can never say that He did not know me.”
She is known by the following life quote: “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.”
The AGT family wrote: “Your voice, your story, and your message touched millions. Nightbirde will always be a member of the AGT family. Rest In Peace Jane.” She has given others the opportunity to live. Her encouraging words have empowered those in a similar position. Her life had a purpose, and she fulfilled it. Thank you Nightbirde. Mikey Hutchinson
R.I.P Jane Marczewski I can relate with what she was going through. What a great example of how to face life and all it brings. Her message was quiet clear: Smile! Smile, always. Yes, even during your worst moments. Keep following your dreams. Never give up! Jane didn’t lose her battle with cancer, she just finished her race before us. We’ll see you there, Jane. And we’ll all say: “It’s OK.” Barbara Padilla 10
