JUSTIN SKINNER jskinner@insidetoronto.com A fitting tribute was paid to late NDP leader, Toronto-Danforth MP and former Toronto city councillor Jack Layton with the renaming of Toronto’s ferry docks in his honour. The former Toronto Island Ferry Terminal officially became known as the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal today with a special celebration and statue unveiling to commemorate the event. The event also marked the two-year anniversary of Layton’s death. Layton’s life in public office began as a city councillor in the Toronto-Danforth ward in 1982. wanted to highlight that,” said Yonge Street Mission (YSM) CEO Angie Draskovic. “We have a number of hands from different (cultural) backgrounds but also from different socioeconomic backgrounds to show how diverse this community is.” The mural will draw atten-
