Street naming to honour Mandela MIKE ADLER madler@insidetoronto.com Toronto’s University Avenue from Front Street West to College Street will also be known as Nelson Mandela Boulevard before Dec. 5, a city committee has decided. Building approved with ‘obscene’ demands LISA QUEEN lqueen@insidetoronto.com After putting off making a decision earlier this summer about a controversial apartment building near the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club following a plea from neighbours, councillors on North York Community Council have now approved the project. Councillors voted in favour of the four-storey building with rooftop terrace at 200 Ridley

Blvd., southeast of Avenue Road and Wilson Avenue at last week’s community council meeting but it must still be approved by city council, which meets Monday.
