Dear Hammock Beach Members:

We are pleased to announce our four Pickleball Courts at Yacht Harbor Village are now open! The opening on February 27th featured tennis greats, Ivan Lendl, Mikael Pernfors and Tobias Svantesson who have transitioned to Pickleball along with our very own club member Sylvia Whitehouse in a terrific exhibition. Sylvia is a 5-time medal winner at the US Open for pickleball, and a 4-time medal winner at Nationals, just to name a few of her accomplishments in Pickleball.

Due to space constraints, the opening was limited to members currently serving on the Advisory Board of Governors, Sports & Leisure, Member Experience, and Golf Committees, GVTL (Greater Volusia Tennis League) Captains, Co-Captians, and Member Tennis Ambassadors. We recognize that we will have a high demand for Pickleball play and we ask that everyone please be patient with us as we plan and fine tune, as soon as possible, a fair and equitable platform for all our members to enjoy the latest new amenity of our club.

New this month, members will be able to access thousands of newspapers and magazines via a subscription the club will provide called PressReader. PressReader.com is a dynamic platform that consolidates over 7,000 newspapers and magazines from 120 countries. PressReader.com ensures a seamless and easy access to diverse content, including the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. You will be able to download the PressReader App from your device’s app store or alternatively, access PressReader through its website on your device’s web browser. This subscription will be complimentary for members and replace the hard copy newspapers in the Lobby, Beach Brew and Fitness Center.

Manager of Pool & Beach Operations

Bruce was born in San Diego, California and joined the U.S. Army right out of high school. After 7 years, he was honorably discharged and joined the U.S. Air Force. He served over 23 years total on active duty. After retiring, he decided to graduate with a culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu and take on a career in Food & Beverage working as a manager for the restaurants in Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World.

Bruce and his wife and their maltese Wall-E, wanted to move closer to the ocean, find a fantastically wonderful community, and navigate around in less traffic. Palm Coast was it! To add to this phenomenal choice, he was chosen to manage the Fantasy Pool Complex & Beach Operations at the beautiful Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa.

Couples Golf Recap

It was a moist day on the Ocean course for the Couples 9-hole scramble on February 4. Thank you all for a wonderful turn-out and for all your support! We hope you had a great time! There were 44 players for the event. Prizes were awarded for first place in Gross and Net for all Divisions. Congratulations to the winners below!

The Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center Flagler

Auditorium is Flagler County’s premier performing arts center for the community! Offering the latest technology and design, the Auditorium educates, enlightens, enriches, and exposes children and adults to the thrill of quality, live performances. The Flagler Auditorium Governing board is a direct support organization of Flagler County Schools and is a non-profit organization.

The Auditorium was created by a public bond offering to present a state-of-the-art performing arts center, having 1,000 seats and providing a venue for professional, school and community performances. It functions as a host for performing arts and technical theatre classes and is considered a teaching theatre. It offers everything from nationally touring Broadway to cultural programs, big band, family theater, symphonic and celebrity entertainment. The mission of the Flagler Auditorium is to inspire educational and cultural experiences.
