Kicking off the season is our 2nd Annual Hammock Beach Food & Wine Classic, exclusively for members, scheduled for Friday, September 6. This not-to-be-missed event will showcase over 30 wine vendors featuring more than 75 wines from eight countries. Guests can also indulge in delectable chef tastings from our Hammock Beach restaurants and groove to live music Registration is closing soon, so be sure to reserve your spot!
We are honored to once again host the 4th Annual 9/11 Tribute Climb at Hammock Beach on Wednesday, September 11 The climb will start at 8:46 am, commemorating the time when the first tower was hit. Witness our local firefighters and first responders ascend 110 stories (11 stories 10 times) in memory of those who perished on 9/11. Donations to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation are welcome and can be made by scanning the QR code or visiting the Tribute Climb page in this newsletter.
In early October, we will welcome over 65 members and their guests from across the country for our highly anticipated Men's Invitational Golf Tournament, the highlight of our golf season Get ready for an electrifying tournament filled with excitement. Later, from the end of October through November 2, we will host the Couples Championship, where couples will team up for a fun and entertaining event.
The XGLOsive Tennis Blacklight experience will make a triumphant return at the end of October, offering a unique and no-pressure social tennis experience for members of all ages and abilities.
November and December will feature a diverse range of fall and holiday events.

Pin placements will be difficult but not impossible (the tournament committee sets the pin locations).

LOOP YOUR BACKSWING FOR ADDED POWER AND CONTROL

In today’s modern game, many players utilize a circular motion when preparing for their groundstrokes, a technique known as looping the backswing. This approach not only creates a smoother stroke but also generates more racquet head speed compared to a traditional straight backswing
If your backswing is a traditional “straight-back-and-down”, consider adding a loop by visualizing the letter "C" as you prepare for a groundstroke. Begin by rotating your shoulders, then guide your racquet head up, around, and down in one fluid motion before making contact with the ball By increasing your racquet head speed, you’ll be able to generate more power in your shots. Additionally, the looping motion helps bring the racquet head under the ball, enabling you to add more topspin and height over the net, increasing your margin for error.
Although looping your backswing may initially disrupt your timing on your forehands and backhands, incorporating this circular motion into your swing will ultimately enhance your game.
